Chapter 1

~~Midnight~~
The warmth of the full moon was comforting as it gave silvery light lighting up the path for a teenage boy walking down the empty streets.
He walked quickly wanting to be home, safe and cozy before his parents noticed he was gone.
As he had sneaked out of the house hours back to hang out with his college friends at a frat party.
He heard a noise behind him.
A faint sound.
He looked around the streets realizing it was empty and no one could have made that sound.
He quickened his pace, aware that he was on his own as he began running.
The faint noise became louder and it was the sound of heavy footsteps behind him.
He kept on running forward, not stopping once to look back as his heart was pounding and his mouth dry with fear.
Soon, he tripped and fell clumsily on the rough path, his knees and hands stung with a sharp pain from where he fell as he scrambled in panic attempting to stand up.
He hurriedly stood up, not minding the pain as he continued running away from the unknown danger which was quickly gaining on him.
He felt the rush of a wind as a figure went past him stopping and turned to face him.
Getting scared, he moved backwards.
But the figure in front of him stretched out a bony hand reaching out to him.
He wanted to run but he felt like he was paralyzed to the ground, spellbound by the terror that held him, fear taking over him as his soul was chilled at the sight of the horrific face in front of him.
The eerie smile on the figure’s face was one he would never forget even in death.

*Morning*
.
~~Sky Hepburn~~
Arranging my things in my bag, I zipped it up slanging it over my shoulder finally ready to go to school.
“Noona?”. I called out loud for my grandmother as I walked out of my room heading to the sitting room.
Yes
The t.v was left on but she wasn’t there.
Hearing a sound from the kitchen, I concluded she must be there then.
But the news distracted me.
**Breaking news!! A body was found on a park this morning at 3:42am. The body was laying openly on the playground when a group of teenagers saw it. The sight was very gruesome and it was concluded that the boy was tortured to death. The police said the method of torture was called blood eagle. It’s a method which was very popular back in the days along the gangs during__
The reporter hasn’t finished what she was saying when the t.v went off.
“Noona!!”. I whined as I noticed she was the one who turned it off.
“Skylar! I told you not to watch the news again, didn’t I ?”. She snapped at me while scolding me.
I rolled my eyes. “It’s not like they are saying anything I haven’t heard of before, they are talking about murders, I get it “.
“Skylar “. She sighed.
“And I’m not a small child, I understand that people are getting murdered more and more, stopping me from watching the news doesn’t mean I won’t hear about it in school, I get it, this town isn’t safe”. I continued what I was saying. “But I’ve already turned 18, I’m a man already. I’m not scared”.
“Look at you, my baby”. She came over to me poking my arms. “You are shaking “.
I shrugged her arms off. “Just a little bit, don’t be bothered about that “.
“But i am bothered, I don’t want you to have nightmares while watching the news, I know you have the right to know what is going on in our town but I’m afraid for you, dear, considering your traumas “.
“Aishhh”. I groaned stepping out of the way. “But I’m fine. I’m not reacting badly now, am I ?”.
“Stop faking to be confident, Sky “.
“I have to head to school, Noona”. I said reminding her as I placed a small peck on her forehead. “See you later ?”.
“But you haven’t had breakfast yet”. She pointed out.
“I’ll be late to school if I don’t go now. But don’t worry, I’ll eat in the cafeteria”.
After reassuring her, I stepped out of my grandmothers house walking down the porch as I set out into the streets heading to my school.
I noticed how the streets were quiet calm this morning.
Another death silencing everyone again.
The last death was only yesterday when a body was found hanging from the ferries wheel and now another body this morning.
This isn’t ordinary anymore and the fact that there’s no leads on any of the deaths seems to baffle me.
I’m quite surprised.
But Soon, everybody will just have to be used to this.
I only fear for my grandmother.
She’s the only one I have left after my parents died in a plane crash years ago.
Before, I only used to worry about when my grandmother will be old and leave me.
But now, I’m worried that this dangerous killer will get to her.
Nobody knows how the serial killer strikes or why the serial killer strikes.
It just started happening and since then, things haven’t been this same anymore.
There are more securities in public places, the schools have taken more measures to protect us and now everyone in the town just seems scared to be murdered.
I sigh realizing I have gotten to my school.
I head towards the main gate getting ready to zip open my bag for the security man.
Like I said the school has been taking precautions measures and that includes a weapon checking devices.
Everyone is usually searched for a weapon before they are allowed into the school.
I stepped into the male line brewing as I managed to keep my cool trying not to freak out over the fact that I was standing at the back of football team.
But they didn’t seem to notice me.
As they were all goofing on their own.
While girls from the female line watched drooling over whatsoever happening.
I sigh waiting for my turn as I looked around the clusters of students in groups which makes me feel weird.
I’ve been attending this school since freshman years and now I’m a senior but I haven’t made a friend ever.
Very weird.
But it’s just my anxiety.
And now I can’t even trust making a friend after all this whole incident of murders.
I can’t trust anyone.
Who knows if they’ll turn out to be the serial killer ?
Laughters from the football team brought me back to the present.
I moved back irritated as Ace Carlton has stepped on my feet while laughing.
“Oh “. He turned around noticing what he said. “Sorry about that “.
I paused surprised.
Did he just apologize ?
“It’s fine”. I muttered with shock visible on my face as he stared back at me.
But I had to look away because his gaze was becoming so intense.
Jeez!
What’s holding up the line so long ?

~~Lyla Drew~~
“Lyla!!!!”.
I groan hearing my older brother shout my name.
“I know you heard me, wake up!!”. He said more louder.
Jeez!
If I don’t get up, he’s going to come get me.
My room door suddenly opened and I stood up from my bed immediately not wasting time.
“I’m up, I’m up “. I hurriedly said rubbing my eyes to see my brother standing by the door.
He chuckled. “Stop acting like you didn’t get enough sleep. Go get ready for school, breakfast will be ready in 10 minutes “.
Klaus said before walking out of my room.
I sat on my bed for a moment trying to drift away the drowsiness before standing up and heading to the bathroom.
~~
~~
Brushing my hair, I sighed glancing at myself in the large sized mirror.,
I don’t even know why I bother to do this everyday.
It’s not like anybody will notice if I go to school without washing my hair.
Suddenly, I heard a knock on my door which made me frown.
Seriously?
Klaus can’t let me go a day without him disturbing me.
But he didn’t step in, instead, he knocked again.
“Come in “. I said tiredly going over to the door.
I opened my room door expecting to see my brother but I paused realizing no one was at the door.
What the ..?
I looked outside the hallway wondering if Klaus was playing tricks on me but he was not there.
The hallways were silent and no sight of anyone.
Weird!
It’s just Klaus and I here.
Who could have knocked ?
Getting scared, I went back to my bed grabbing my bag so I could leave my room quickly.
After slanging my bag over my shoulder, I stopped hearing my name as I turned.
“Y-yes?”. I stuttered answering.
That didn’t sound like my brother.
My room door opened and I yelled in fright but sighed seeing it was my brother.
“Lyla, are you okay ?”. He asked leaning on the doorway.
“Did you call my name, Klaus ?”.
I asked afraid to hear the answer.
“No, but I was about to call you down for breakfast”.
“So you haven’t called me yet ?”.
“Yeah. Are you okay ?”. He asked again staring at me.
“Yeah sure”. I replied absentmindedly looking around my room. “I’m fine “.
“Okay be down in a sec”.
“Okay”. I responded feeling lightheaded as I sat back on my bed.
If Klaus didn’t call me, then who did ?

Fear of the Unknown[When the dead comes back to life]. . Chapter 2 . ~~Ace Carlton~~ “Shiela looks like she got ran over by a bus “. Jason made a joke at the front as the whole team laughed. It wasn’t entirely funny as it included him making fun of other girls. But I just had to laugh along for the sake of it. I stumbled backwards as they shuffled while laughing. I turned around realizing I had stepped on someone. “Oh “. I mutter. “Sorry about that “. “It’s fine”. He mumbled moving away from me giving us a little bit space. I was surprised as to why he was doing that but I was busy distracted by his looks to pay attention to his actions. He had this brown hair that was ruffled flopping over his forehead giving him a cute look. I’m certain I’ve never met this boy in my entire life. And apparently he goes to the same school with me. I stared at him loving the sight in front of me. He had this cute green eyes that gave him a good aura. “Sorry for stepping on you”. I s

Walking downstairs, I paused hearing a creaky sound in the upstairs floorboard. Don’t think about it, Lyla. This house is old, it has creaks all the time. I assured myself while heading downstairs and then to the dining room where Klaus was already waiting for me. I sat opposite him taking my portion of breakfast as the scent of bacon and eggs wafted through my nostrils.“Look at you all ready on school on time all because of me “. Klaus smiled giving himself a compliment as well. I rolled my eyes. “Because you woke me up against my wishes “. “Take it as a morning present from your big brother “. “Tch !”. I scoffed. “As if I’m happy to go to school”. “School helps “. I watched him eating waiting for the right time to talk. “What?”. Klaus paused asking with his mouth full. “Why are you staring at
