Love stories in literature usually narrate how two characters meet in a certain place for the first time which would lead to multiple encounters since destiny is real in the fictional universe. The romance either starts from the famous term “love at first sight” or from the multiple encounters that the characters have. A story will never be a story without a conflict as the romantic relationship between the characters would not be happy all the way from the beginning until the end—but that does not mean they would always end up in a tragic situation. Love stories in a fictional universe mostly end up with a happy ending because destiny exists and will always be by the side of the two characters.

But love stories are not always nice. Some do not start in a vintage coffee shop or a school hallway in the first day of a school year, and some do not end up in a wedding as a happy ending. Love indeed is complex as it could either be a lifetime benefit or a permanent danger to an individual. But perhaps destiny does exist—but that does not mean destiny gives everyone a happy ending.

The question is, do the people involved in the world of crime deserve a happy ending? Or will destiny stay by their side to prove that love is more powerful than anything?

Only darkness was flashed for hours as usual until the sound of the alarm slowly awakened her consciousness. For the past years, it became rare for Olivia to experience a dream in her slumber. At that point, she would most likely feel like she was new to the world if ever she had dreams again. Wanting the ringing sound that was piercing her ears to dissipate, the blonde reached for the alarm clock on the bedside table from her left without opening her eyes. Even after moving in to a new house, her alarm clock would always be on a bedside table from her left. A soft sigh escaped her lips as soon as she successfully turned the alarm off. Her eyes finally opened after a few seconds as she did not even flinch when her eyes were immediately met with a pair of hazel eyes from a short distance. “Good morning, Liv.” A warm smile spread across the flawless face of the man across her. “Good morning, Theo,” Olivia softly replied as she sat up on her bed and rubbed her eyes. For the past years, Olivia lost the ability to have dreams in her sleep though she never bothered looking for an answer to it as she knew that she would just be having the same dream over and over again. Since it had been a long time since she experienced a dream, the blonde then started to wonder if she was finally dreaming for the first time again as she stood across the person whose face she never forgot about even after not seeing it for ten years. The blonde slowly looked at her from head to toe as she realized how much the latter changed after the years that passed, starting from her neck-length green hair. When her eyes met the pair of amber again, she briefly felt a shudder as she saw how emotionless they looked while staring directly into her soul.“Olivia.” The said woman gulped when she heard her slightly husky voice again after a long time. “You surprisingly look the same.”“D-Dakota,” was what she could only utter in response. There was no change on the taller woman’s bla

Ten years ago, it was the year 2012. Autumn had finally come with the leaves falling off from the trees and flying through the air with the freedom that they had from the arrival of a new season. Unfortunately, in this cruel world, not everyone was born to have the same freedom as the leaves even though a new season had come. No changes might still occur even when a new season comes which was why the change of seasons were sometimes never a big deal. But there were people who cared whether they had freedom or not because they would always continue to do whatever they want without caring about it no matter what the season was. One of them happened to be a 17-year-old girl who would never get into any trouble no matter what she does anyway. Back to the present, it was a new season—a start to a new school year. Some students would feel frustrated and unprepared for being forced to go to a place that could be considered as hell on earth for miserable students, while the students who were

Plenty of people could be seen walking around near the school as the blonde felt her excitement coming back when she saw the huge building of her school again after months. Some of the students that were walking on their way to the school were familiar to her as she could feel that it was real—it was indeed the first day of school.“What time do I pick you up, Olivia?” the driver asked as he looked at her through the rearview mirror.“I’ll just call you,” Olivia replied as she took her small backpack and opened the door.“All right. Good luck!”The blonde smiled in response as she waved at the driver before walking toward the entrance gate of the school along the other students. She could have had the driver drop her off inside the campus since vehicles were allowed to enter but since she did not want to gain that kind of attention, she decided that it was better to be exposed to a lot of people in going to school. From a distance, it did not take long for Olivia to spot a tall boy wi

Hours went by almost in a flash until it was finally lunchtime, which was everyone’s favorite time in a school day. All of the students were scattered across the hallways as most of them rushed to the cafeteria since they knew that the line to have their lunch would be long like hell if they were not hasty. It was expected that everywhere in the school would be noisy especially since it was the first day of school as the new teachers never bothered telling them off.Falling in line was never a big deal for Olivia and her three minions as they immediately went to take their seats at the table on the middle of the end rows. The four of them simultaneously brought out and placed their individual lunch bags on the table as they were the first ones to begin eating their lunch among most of the students who had to stand in the long line and wait for their turn to be served.“That new history teacher is so annoying. One thing about Olivia Jean was that if something catches her attention, there is no doubt for her to hold it as much as she can no matter what until she gets sick of it. That trait of hers could sometimes be a flaw or strength; a flaw because people could end up crying blood as a result to her selfish persistence, while it could also be a strength because she could save a person’s life with her power. Olivia was a powerful person, after all. Exactly seven days ago, she was just excited about going back to school finally as a superior; even though she did not have to necessarily wait until she was in her senior year to feel superior among other students. Hours later, her interest quickly diverted to a little black fluff ball that always wanders around the back of Tulip High. Though she was valid for that since the kitten was objectively adorable with its black fur and shining yellow eyes. “That’s right, Ethan! You’re finally learning, for fuck’s sake!” James shouted and clapped as he
