Olivia is still alive.
An article with a headline saying, “A 17-year-old female high school student who turned out to be Flyve City’s mayor was found stabbed to death in a dark alleyway”, was not going to be seen published on the front page of newspapers.
As if nothing happened, Olivia was in her bedroom humming a pop song as she stepped out of the bathroom. Her father would want her to be asleep already at that hour, but she was not going to do what he wants.
The smartphone that was charging on her dressing table vibrated as the blonde sat down on the chair by the table and turned the hair dryer on before opening her phone.
Theodork: your three friends went out on a date with ethan after practice today
Olivia: expected. date? more like a gang bang
Theodork: lol aren’t you friends with them
Olivia: u really think i’m friends with those losers?
Theodork: right. i thought so lol
The blonde started to dry her hair after deciding to not reply to Theodore’s last text message when her eyes landed on the chocolate bar on the side of her dressing table. It was white chocolate—the type of chocolate she hates the most, but she still had it.
A smirk appeared on her face as she recalled everything that happened earlier with the new person that she wanted to know everything about.
Four hours ago, Olivia was being pinned on a dirty public wall with a grin on her face. The taller girl across her had a flustered look on her face though she tried to hide it in order to not be less intimidating.
“Let’s be friends. Let’s be partners in crime!” Olivia spoke as she felt a wave of thrill after, making the smile on her face grow wider.
Dakota stared at her for a few more seconds in disbelief before letting out a scoff and looking away before turning back to glare at her, leaning in closer with her knife. “Look. I’m not playing any games here, miss. If you think I won’t be able to kill you here at this moment, you’re mistaken.”
Suddenly, Olivia placed her hands on the sides of the latter which surprised her. The smirk on the blonde’s face never disappeared as she fearlessly leaned forward, making it seem like she was pulling Dakota closer to her with the way her hands were casually resting on her sides.
“Go ahead. I don’t mind dying in your hands,” she flirted.
Dakota stared at her with her eyebrows furrowing deeper while her grip on her pocket knife became tighter as well. The way the blonde responded was making her feel troubled—it was her first time to encounter a situation like that. Ordinary people would have been terrified and start to beg for their lives to be spared, which was something one could never see from Olivia Jean.
“For fuck’s sake.” The taller girl let out a sigh as she abruptly pushed the latter’s hands away from her and took a step away from her, completely letting the blonde be free from her hold. “This isn’t worth it.”
“What is what worth it? Killing me? I know. I’m your future partner in crime after all.” Olivia shrugged as she slipped her left hand in the pocket of her skirt.
The latter heaved a heavy sigh as she rolled her eyes. “Screw off, all right? I already have plenty of problems to deal with—I don’t need another one.”
Before Olivia could give a reply that would just surely make Dakota roll her eyes again, her eyes were stinging.
“JESUS FUCK! ASSHOLE!”
Yes. Dakota just sprayed something on Olivia’s face, specifically to her eyes. Just for her to leave as quickly as possible without the latter being able to follow her.
Tears were streaming down her cheeks nonstop as well as the curses that were leaving her mouth while she kept her eyes closed, waiting for the pain to go away. It was the first time someone had ever physically harmed Olivia—no one would ever dare to, not even lay a finger on her.
Once the blonde felt that it was all right to open her eyes, she immediately walked in the alleyway with hope to still catch her assailant. Unfortunately, Dakota was nowhere to be seen as she then realized that the alleyway did not just have one passageway but three.
The sun was beginning to set, so she decided to not try to search for her in each passageway. Olivia then lightly rubbed her eyes when a familiar scent entered her nostrils. She raised her eyebrows in realization as the anger that she felt toward the stranger lessened a bit. It was just ethanol.
Her hand slipped in her pocket as she then pulled out a chocolate bar—the chocolate bar that she successfully took from Dakota’s pocket without her noticing it. Olivia was definitely a person that should not be underestimated.

Olivia woke up in a good mood the next morning because of the events that happened yesterday—excluding the part where her father suddenly acted up over cat food purchases, of course.
Pop songs played loudly from her CD player as soon as she woke up like she wanted to wake every person in the mansion up, though that would be impossible because all rooms were soundproof (as expected).
The blonde thought of what interesting thing she was going to do for the day. Throwing crumpled papers on the outcast in every class while their teacher is facing their back on them or giving insults to every loser she walks by in the hallway were not that fun for her anymore (but that did not mean she would stop, though). Actually, studying was definitely not an option even though she could do it if she wanted to—again, she did not want to give her father what he wants.
Olivia entered the dining area later. Her father and stepmother were eating breakfast next to each other at the dining table—an eyesore, so she did not bother directly looking at them as she continued to go straight to Amy who was arranging the tuna sandwiches on the table.
“Good morning, Amy,” Olivia greeted with a smile on her face as she took a resealable plastic bag and dropped a tuna sandwich in it. “I’ll just have a sandwich on my way to school.”
“Olivia, stop being a rude brat and sit down,” Anton sternly said.
But Olivia was not scared of her father.
“Oh yeah. I want mashed potatoes for dinner, okay?” The blonde grinned and did finger guns to Amy before turning around and walking out of the dining area, completely ignoring the existence of the other two older people at the table.
“OLIVIA JEAN!”
Just like that, Olivia got in their family car as the driver drove away from that mansion filled with angry shouts from her father.
No one actually knew who Olivia’s father was nor did anyone know how powerful her connections were. People just knew that she was rich and bold, which made her become influential enough to be above everyone else. The school was her kingdom.
While the blonde walked across the hallway with Theodore talking about their basketball practice yesterday beside her, the face of the person who dared to spray her eyes with ethyl alcohol yesterday suddenly appeared in her mind. The scars on her face were too memorable that Olivia had the urge to gently run her fingertips all over them.
Wanting to impress the stranger the next time they meet, Olivia then had an idea on what to do for the day.
“The look on James’s face was so funny. He was scolding Ethan for his bad angle then your friends suddenly—” Theodore was not able to finish his sentence when he was suddenly grabbed by the shorter girl next to him. “W-What are you…?”
The blonde held the taller boy’s arm with her left hand while her right hand went to rest on his hip. She stared at him with slightly squinting eyes like she was examining his face, though their sudden closeness and eye contact were making the latter begin to sweat in nervousness. Some of the students who were walking at the hallway threw glances at them though none of them dared to bother them or openly gossip about them while they were close to them; even though Olivia did not have great hearing as moths, they were still afraid of the possibility of getting caught.
“Your lips are still too red from the ketchup you ate for breakfast,” Olivia casually said and let go of him as she began walking again as if nothing just happened.
The basketball player blinked multiple times in astonishment without moving from his spot for a few seconds before recovering and continuing to walk with his best friend. After realizing what she just said, Theodore immediately took his handkerchief out as he wiped his lips like it was going to get rid of the reddish tint. He was still stunned from the sudden action of his best friend though he did his best to move on from it, knowing that Olivia would never mean anything from those kinds of actions.
The two of them had different classes for the first subject as Theodore walked Olivia to her science class before heading to his English class. The blonde stared at his back to make sure he would not come back before letting a smirk spread across her face as she pulled out a black gel pen from her pocket that she successfully took from Theodore’s pocket earlier.
“Olivia, good morning!” The blonde turned her head when Rachel, one of her classmates in science, cheerfully greeted her.
A smile appeared on her face. Not because of the girl, but because of her goal for the day.
“Hey. Good morning,” Olivia replied with a cheeky grin on her face as she leaned in with her left hand naturally resting on the latter’s waist while her right hand made its way to her handbag which had plenty of random keychains dangling on the zippers.
When she was done, Olivia stepped away and went straight to her seat with a victorious smirk on her face while slipping the star keychain from the girl’s bag into her pocket. On the other hand, Rachel was completely unaware of what had just happened as she was still frozen on her spot because Olivia just acknowledged her existence for the first time.
In another place. In another fate. In another universe. Dakota wakes up on her squeaky single bed. It is another day to start the day. She gets up from her bed and heads straight to the bathroom to begin brushing her teeth. Her clothes that she will be using for the day is already prepared inside her small wooden closet. If only her room is only for herself, she would have bought a bigger closet. Dakota looks at herself on the mirror one last time once she is completely ready to leave. She runs her hand through her newly dyed orange hair and lets out a sigh, realizing what her new hair color means. A new hair color means a new chapter. And the new chapter in question is a new semester. Dakota walks out of the dormitory and joins the flock of students entering the university where she studies at. Her dream is just beginning as she stares at the huge logo of her university at the gate. “Hey! What time does your class start?” She looks at the person who suddenly appears next to her
The venue that was filled with delightful laughter and loud music was now filled with screams of terror and gunshots. The sudden change was like parkour. It seemed that it was going to be the biggest war to occur in Flyve City as the two most powerful gangs all came to fight.“Dead Soul vs. Blood Trouble” was about to be included in the future history textbooks.Dakota pulled Olivia to hide behind a rectangular that was pushed down to serve as a barricade instead of a furniture to hold food. She would take a peek and shoot the enemies that she could see, while the blonde would use whatever object she finds near her to hit whoever tries to get close to them. They were being great teammates. It was no wonder they became partners in crime.“Fuck you,” the blonde hissed as she hit the man’s head with a silver pot as hard as she could which caused him to fall unconscious.Olivia was panting from the exertion as she stared at the man lying on the floor in his unconscious state. A body was s
Just when the blonde thought that she was already completely falling into the void, the light came reaching out to grab her hand. Everything that happened all at once in one night was doing more to her than devastation that it was like each of them were throwing attacks on her until she ended up on the edge of a cliff—until she lost her balance and started to fall down to the never-ending hole with no one to catch her.Until she came to catch her.Olivia felt more than a hundred times better as she let herself totally fall into the taller woman’s embrace, wishing that the latter would just hold her and never let her go forever until she becomes okay again. The green-haired woman did not speak as she just hugged her tightly and gave her gentle pats on her back, letting the blonde cry as much as she wanted to. There was nothing that the gang boss could do but to just be there for her—because that was what Olivia only needed at that moment. Someone to hold her and make her realize that t
It all started on their sophomore year in high school. Theodore and his possessiveness of Olivia. They were already teenagers which meant that they were hitting puberty. The moment when hormones are developing to a new stage.“Give me your number.”Classes had just ended and they were all leaving school when a man with a man in junior year stopped the blonde from leaving. A smirk painted on his face as he shoved his smartphone toward the girl who absolutely no interest in the guy that was standing arrogantly in front of her.“Bold of you to assume I’d give you my number,” Olivia scoffed. She was about to walk past him when he moved to stop her again, making her roll her eyes. “I said, no.”“Oh? You’re being disrespectful to your senior.” He gasped, acting shocked at her response. “Girls like you need to be taught a lesson.”“What if I teach you a lesson?” Olivia threw a glare at him. She had to look up a bit because of their height difference.“In a kinky way?” His smirk grew wider as
A week passed by quickly since that day.Even though Dakota had always been softhearted to Olivia to the point that she could overlook every mistake she does, it was a first for the gang boss to stop being clingy for a while after a conflict.Dakota was speechless and shocked after finding out about how Olivia had to do things that she did not want to do for the sake of protecting her and their two friends. Dakota knew that Olivia was a changed person, but never did she imagine the blonde to be selfless for a decade just for her.The possibility of the two of them being in more danger by being together again made the gang boss suddenly snap back to reality. They were not the main characters in a love story with a happy ending, that was the fact. Dakota loved Olivia, but she was just realizing that it was wrong even though the thought of that hurt her a lot.The gang boss drove the blonde near the café that was near the hospital after finishing their lunch which happened quickly unlike
Everything that happened seemed to be fast. It felt like the first day that the blonde started to date Theodore was yesterday. It felt like the day that Theodore first confessed his feelings for her was just two days ago. It felt like she was just suddenly brought to the future in a split second with how everything had not been done processing yet.The blonde stared at the orange soda in the glass that she was holding as she swirled it around, watching the bubbles produce because of the release of carbon dioxide from the soft drink. She was told to watch TV to kill time though she did not even bother turning it on. Her head was currently full that she could not bear to let more things enter her brain from the television which contained plenty of things.“Hey, are you okay?” Olivia looked up and saw the green-haired woman with a curious and concerned look on her face as she sat down next to her while placing their food on the table in front of them.“Yeah, I’m fine,” the blonde replied
