LOOK AT ME 2
I was blinded by desire, no, I literally was. Father Aryan had shown up dressed in the tightest T Shirts ever made, it was at least two sizes too small for those arms. “If you stare any longer you’ll pop holes on him.” Danny whispers as she brushed past me, a box in hand. “I have to pray today, bless the child that threw up on his cassock and whoever made that t shirt.” I murmured to myself as I lift the tiniest of the boxes from the trunk of the bus we arrived in. “One would think you’d be smart enough to lift the heaviest box so Father muscles would offer to help you.” I don’t know where Danny keeps materializing from, but she was right. I dump the tiny box in her outstretched hands and return to the trunk, I select the heaviest box, and it was heavier than I anticipated, I curse under my breath as the weight pulled me closer to the ground. “What the hell is in this thing?”“Dumbbells, I assume.”His voice startles me so much, I take double steps backwards and almost crash into the bus. He catches me by my shoulders just before they ram into the bus. We stay like that for what seemed like forever, his hands on my shoulders lit my skin and set it ablaze. My fingers gripping the box holds it even tighter, for I was filled and consumed with the primal desire to stuff his perfectly handsome face into my chest. He finally snaps out of the trance and helps me stand upright, he collects the heavy box from me and lifts it like it didn’t almost drag me down to the gates of hell. “Why don’t I carry this one? To prevent accidents.” He says with an easy smile. His dentition has me gawking. They couldn't be real. I can’t believe someone with such perfect dentition wasn’t a model. “You must be the niece I heard about, my apologies for the late introduction, I’m Father Aryan..” “Father Aryan Geller, twenty seven years old and already on the path of deliberate celibacy. Although I’m not certain why.” His smile falters but remains on his face.“I’m sorry, What?”I wave that away, it wasn’t time for that yet.“What did you hear about the niece?”“Again, What?” his laugh is uneasy now, his eyes roam the parking lot, trying to find somebody to save him from this situation. There was nobody here, everyone already went inside. “I asked what you heard about the niece.”“Her name is Melanie Rose Patterson, just turned twenty one and is living with her aunty for personal reasons.” From the way he winced, I’m certain he knows what those personal reasons are. “We have almost the same amount of information on each other.” I nod to myself.“Excuse me?”“You were shocked.”His frown deepens and he looks around again for help. He can’t just leave me alone, no matter how crazy I seem, he is the priest after all. “I don't understand...”“You were expecting something else, someone else and then you saw me. I saw your eyes widen. What were you expecting and what did you see?” He looks caught, his expression frozen as he licked his lips. Damn, even that was sexy.“I don't know what you’re talking about. And if you’ll excuse me.” “I’ll tell you exactly what I am talking about. You weren't expecting anything. And then when you saw me, you liked what you saw.” Again, his tongue darts out and runs across his lips. I wanted nothing more than to jam my tongue in his mouth, see if it felt as hot as it looked. “Of course, everyone was born in the image of..” “Stop. Don't do that.” I say tiredly. He looks at me, at loss of what to do with himself. I take a step into his personal space, I watch as he shivers, I liked that. I drop my voice into a low whisper,“You know what I’m talking about Father Aryan. Watch your back, I know I’ll be watching it. It’s pretty as fuck.” With that, he hurries away from me, I see him struggling to cover his butt as he runs away. I can’t help but laugh. “You scared him away.”I jump in the air at the sudden sentence. “Make some noise when you walk goddamnit.” I hiss.“There would be no fun in that now would there?” Danny say blinking at me.I sighed. “I must say, you have guts. What if he goes in there and tells everyone what you said?”I shrug.“Then it would never have worked out between us and there would be no use of my time here.” “You basically told him he was attracted to you.”I shrug because it was true. He held on to me longer than necessary, he did look shocked, his eyes kept drifting to my mouth. “What next?”“He won’t tell anyone about it, and stew in his guilt for betraying his belief, I just have to tempt him more.” Danny snorts again.“What makes you so certain?”I smirk as I replay his arms around me again. He didn’t want to let go, he forced himself to let me go. “It’s all in the eyes Danny, his eyes held the truth, the desire in them almost drowned me.”She picked the last box from the trunk and shut it. “I have waited for months for a reason, you met him yesterday and you already told him of your plans. And I thought we would be friends for a long time.” She shakes her head. “Who said we were friends now?”“Me. And the desire you saw in his eyes might have been a reflection of your own.” I think back to his eyes, that pulsing heat between us didn’t just come from me, it was alive, it came from both ends. “A priest can’t just see you and want you immediately. He is like I said, a priest.”“Uhm, a young priest. That’s the difference.”“Mabel is young too and she hasn’t felt the desire.” More arguments would have come from me if Aunt Cheryl didn’t rush out of the prison red faced and ready to blow the top of her head off. “Melanie Rose Patterson what did you say??!”LOOK AT ME 3; I widen my stance and squared my shoulders. “I don’t know, you tell me, what did I say?” When you’ve lived with red heads all your life, and you yourself are one, you either become addicted to nonchalance, or become a permanently angry person. “What is this I’m hearing about you wanting to rent a place for yourself?” That’s what she heard? Phew, that was a close one. Father Aryan hadn’t tattled. “Where did you hear this?”“From the nuns in there, is it true?” I didn’t tell anyone any thing, Danny gives me a small nod, she was the one talking. “I can’t stay at the hotel long term.” “Melanie Rose! We have spaces back at the dorm, Danielle stays there with us. We have loads of fun, don’t we Danielle?” We both turn to find Danny gone, she had sneaked out of the conversation. “It’s good Danny has loads of fun at the convent house, but I won't.” “It is a dormitory where we stay together and pray together as a family.” “And right now the last
LOOK AT ME 4 He put up a good fight, that much I’d admit. He meant the no he said and was going to stand on business, but even he couldn’t stand the questioning gazes from the nuns, all except my great aunt, and he finally caved. And three days later, I had moved in and was settled. I saw it for the first time when I moved in, a one bedroom, I had neighbours who also rented from Father Aryan. “Are you sure you like the place? I’m certain there are others more suited to your taste.” He sounded desperate as he tried to get me away from his place. I nodded enthusiastically, I didn’t like the place at all. “I love it. I can tell nausea green is your favourite colour.” He sighed, “Why are you doing this? You clearly hate the house. You can rent somewhere else.” I cross my arms around my chest. His eyes are drawn to my chest, I see his tongue dart out and wets his lips for a second before he reminds himself who he is supposed to be and looks up, there is a tri
LOOK AT ME 5 I take a non threatening step towards him, and because he is a guilty person, he does what guilty people usually do, he shrinks into himself. “Again, how do you know about LonelyFans?” “Why haven’t you gotten the locks changed yet? Anybody could have walked in.” Changing the subject, another sign of guilt, he doesn’t want to say, I just have to let him be, for now. “And none of them would have walked straight into a single woman's bedroom.” He had the caught in a headlights look. “I called your name severally, and I heard.. I heard sounds..” My brows crinkle in thought, he heard my moans, my brows fly into my hair in realization. “You thought I was banging the handyman?!” He turned slightly red as I was right on the mark. “I thought I made it clear enough that it is you I wanted. You don’t have to be jealous.” He clears his throat nosily and takes a step backwards. “I’ll go check the lights..” “Yeah, you do that.” I follow him as he locates the sw
LOOK AT ME 6 I am a liar, an unapologetic one, and quite frankly it’s his fault for believing me, I was definitely going to use the information to my advantage. So when I show up for one of the bi weekly services, a huge grin on my face, he looks ready to excuse himself from my presence. “What did you do to him?” Danny asks, saddling up to me.“Nothing yet.” And for once that is true, I have done nothing yet. Although my plans for him are deliciously evil. “You and I ought to discuss after this.” I shrug, my eyes on my prey. In his cassock he looked even more sexy, I can see why my viewer count jumped so much, he was absolutely good looking. He moved behind a dark curtain and disappeared from view, letting Father Bernard continue alone. “Where did he go?”“To pray for the people.”“But the people are right here.”Danny snorts, “It’s just a thing.”I haven’t been to a church since I was little, that was the last time great aunt Cheryl came to visit, and it was the
LOOK AT ME 7The door swung open and I automatically fall to my knees, dragging my shawl back and wrapping it tightly around me, he rises to his feet, his palms pressed together as a sign of prayer. I smile to myself but keep my eyes shut. “...Amen.” He says audibly. That was my cue to rise to my feet, he gives me an outstretched hand to help me up, I make sure to look into his brown orbs as the sparks of electricity flew from our skin contact. With the way he avoided my eyes, I’d say he felt the same. “Father Aryan, I’m sorry for distracting your prayer session.” I turn towards the nun i heard of but never seen, Danny's foster mother and the last five nuns in this town, Veronica. Aryan gives her an easy smile and walks to her, he bends her eye level as she sat on the wheelchair. “You came at the right time, it has just ended. I’ll take it from here Danny.” He says exchanging spots with Danny who had wheeled her in. “Now I’m worried my mom will never be okay seeing as
LOOK AT ME 8“That isn’t right..” i mutter to myself, this was the exact thing i have been saying for longer than I’d expect. I said it when Danny sprung up on me at the mart when I finally did my grocery shopping. She had asked me again if she could move in and be my roommate. “That isn’t right..” I had said when she used the ‘I helped you get Father Aryan card.’“I don’t have him yet. Even if I did, it’s a one bedroom, no space for you.” I plugged in my headphones to drown her voice as I finished everything and went home. “That isn’t right.” Was also something I said when I realized I had no car and the small town barely had any cabs running around, I needed to get myself a car. The latest one was said purely because my viewer count dropped. It was hovering somewhere above the twenty million, and then for the past three days it’s been pummelling fast. I thought it was a glitch, but every time I went live, it would start with twelve million and end with eight thousand or
LOOK AT ME 9“That is exactly what you get for trying to sleep with a priest. I cannot believe he did that though, he seemed interested enough.”I lean forward, desperate to not be alone in that train of thought,“Right? I definitely felt the heat between us, he didn’t even tell my aunt what he knows about me.”She eyed me suspiciously over the rim of her cup. “What does he know about you?”A sigh escapes my lips and I look away from her to the window of the only decent coffee shop around here, Danny insisted we meet at my place but I wasn’t going to let her in, considering what she wants. “Never mind that, what do you guys do for fun around here? I have been here, what? Two weeks? I haven’t seen much of the town or much of the people in the town.”Danny snorts, “There’s nothing much to do here, and everyone either moved out as fast as they could or end up taking care of their parents.” “Like you.”She nods in acknowledgement, then her eyes sparkle with life.“I have an i
LOOK AT ME 10“Here I thought I was going to be the best friend you would be taking to church.” Danny says when I tell her of my plans to use Chris in making Aryan jealous enough to sleep with me. I was slightly buzzed from the alcohol and panting, I had just taken a break from dancing with Chris, and he went in search of water for me as I was dehydrated. Watching Danny now, I kind of feel bad for her, as long as I have seen her, I haven’t seen her with anyone else asides her mom, Mabel and I.“Who did you piss off to get on everyone’s bad side?”She sighs and puts down her cup,“My mom was—well, she still is overprotective of me, I never got to hang out with kids my age much, one day I snuck out to a party and she found out, it wasn’t pretty, she stormed in, made a scene, telling them that I was Jesus baby and called the cops on them, they made sure I wasn’t invited to any of the parties afterward and the Jesus baby thing stuck forever.” She winces at the end of her explanati
Our lips meet in a slow, tantalizing kiss, his cold plump lips against my own moved as I tilt my head as he cupped the back of my head, the kiss was my answer, and the response to my answer, I felt everything he felt in that moment, and I could not help but smile against his lips. When we finally pull apart, we stare into each other’s eyes, the feelings we had for each other forming a safety bubble around us. He smiles, tucking a lock of hair behind my ear, I smile shyly against the back of his hand. “Wait, this was not what I signed up for.” Evan groaned from where he had started to get comfortable.I groan, covering my eyes with my palm, his flaccid dick in his hand was not what I wanted to see. “Go somewhere else, can’t you see a sweet moment is happening right now?”Evan complained as he tucked himself back into his pants, grunting as he did,“There is good news for you Evan, and you too.” Aryan tells us, and taps me lightly on the nose when he does.I turn to face him again, my
Exactly a week after I opened the can of worms, and thwarted his father’s plans, Aryan finally cracked a smile. It was like the burden of the world finally lifted from my shoulders, I was sure tears stained the corners of my eyes after I saw that. The first few days after he found out, he found the lawyer himself, made sure to hear it from the lawyer himself, I made sure to go with him, and when he let out another strangled cry, and a hoarse sardonic laugh, I watched all of it, my heart breaking for the man in front of me. “I should have known he would do this, I should have expected it, he played me for a fool.” he whispered harshly.“But now you know, you don’t lose any more, if you quit now, you have nothing to owe the man, and you win.” I tell him every time, he would nod but with the far away look in his eyes, I knew he wasn’t listening to me. He did not eat the first day, he only went to bed in the hotel I booked for both of us, he would not return to the apartment the churc
“What kind of nonsense...?” Evan could not complete his statement, he was rifling through the papers Mr Kitler had handed him, his eyes growing wider with shock with each sentence he read, I knew it had to be bad if Evan reacted like that. Mr Kitler scoffed,“That wacko hated his son. I cannot wait to be done with it.” Were his parting words, he took the money Evan paid with him, not even turning back once before slipping into the crowd. Danny and I almost trip over ourselves rushing towards the table where Evan sat alone, deep lines digging into his forehead as he went through the sheets of paper. “Son of a bitch.” he cussed under his breath,I swallow, my worry doubling until it was the size of a horse, galloping around my chest, “Is it that bad?”“Very bad, all of the wealth he seemed to have, all of it were loans of some sort, he just went around accumulating them, and left them all to him.” there was visible anger in his posture, but he was not as angry as I was. How dare he?
“Why aren’t you going after him? I already did the hard part.” Evan asked when I collapsed into his sofa, right after we found him.I chew on my lips, thoughts rushing through my mind at the speed of light, each one too pointing in the same direction, he was going to up and leave me again, right where I stood after going to find him. I always knew he was materialistic, I just had to find a way to beat his father’s properties, without that, he was going to continually slip from my grasp. “Help me one more time Evan, help me find his father’s lawyer, and his father’s will, it doesn’t matter what you have to do to find it, just do.” Evan stared at me for a long time, as if trying to decode the hidden meaning in what I just asked of him, and when he found that I was serious, he nods once and goes to press certain keys on the keypad in front of him. My eyes strayed to the blinking red dot that was his location. I will come to you, in the meantime, just be safe and wait for me.“What do
“Most precious Melanie,I wish I knew how to start a letter, I almost didn’t, and that is ironic considering I write for a living. Anyway, I am sorry to have done this to you, unfortunately, being in your presence makes me forget all of the terrible things my father did to me, I want to forgive him and move on when I am with you, forget being a priest and be fully and utterly yours, but how can I? He deserves to roll in his grave forever when he sees me using his hard earned wealth, I cannot have him laughing at me forever. With that, I am deeply sorry about that, I am deeply sorry to have done this to you, it is shitty and I cannot wrap my head around it, but I ask that you forget this shitty person and move on with your life. Whilst I am certain that there is nobody else who can match your crazy, I am certain that there is a better man for you out there, Victor loves you a whole lot, you should give him a chance. I am afraid I cannot take the car with me, I love it with all of my
That must have been the best sleep of my life since I did not even stir when he pulled away from me. It was not until I was awake, that was when I realized the other side of the bed was empty. “Aryan?” I call out sweetly, imagining he was outside the bedroom door making breakfast for me.Oh, how lucky I was, the man I loved, loved me, I could not help the giggles that spilled out of me, the leg flapping too, it was almost embarrassing, but who cares? We did not even sleep together but it was very possibly the best sleep I ever had. I pat down my hair, combing out the knots with my fingers as I try to look presentable for him, using my phone as my mirror, I find crusted saliva at the corner of my mouth, cussing, I rush to the the bathroom to wash my face. It was only when I get out that I realize, the house was too quiet, there would have been pots and pans clanking together if he was making me breakfast like I thought. Checking the time on my phone, I find it was few minutes past
“You lied to me? Why?” My voice was oddly calm when I find him in his office.I drove here like a crazy person, praying and wishing with all of my heart that he was not in the office as they had said, I prayed that they were the ones lied to, or lying, I did not want to be lied to, especially not by him. “You did it all the time, lying I mean.”“You were the one person I consistently told the truth, I did not lie to you, so answer me damn it! Why did you lie to me? Why did you say you were out of town?” He sighed before getting out of his seat,“Let us not do this in here, follow me.” he tells me as he led the way to his apartment, I follow him, silently fuming, at him and at myself, since my heart was still swooning at the sight of him. “I think we should stop doing this.” he tells me when we get to the safety of his home.I stare at him with confusion as memories of what happened between us the last time I was here threatened to over shadow what was going on in the present. “W
“You are positively glowing.” Danny compliments when I open the door for her on Sunday morning. “Must be from all of that orgasm.” she tells herself as she stepped into the house.“You sound cranky, possibly because of the lack of orgasms?” I tell her, sipping my mango juice. She narrowed her eyes at me before sighing, “I had too much to drink and Rita spent the entire night holding my hair out of her toilet bowl, to say I would never show my face around her anymore is an understatement.” she cried.I wince, feeling sorry for Rita, and being grateful that I was not in Rita’s shoes. Now that I think about it, I sniff the air, and there was a lingering smell of booze coming from her, she must have been drunk, drunk. “I was luckier, since I had no chance of sleeping, until I snuck out early this morning. And do you know what he told me? He said I should not bother coming to work today, and I could spend the entire day in bed. Isn’t he the sweetest?” I sigh wistfully. “Please, do rub
“I want to leave now.” was all he said, but it had me moving, I was out of the door and in my car before I knew what was happening, Tim chuckled when he saw us moving out of the door together, he shook his head and promised he was going to lock up. Driving never felt so nerve wrecking, he said nothing and I say nothing as well, nothing I say right now would be appropriate, I mean, what do you say after that? “My apartment.” he says,I murmur an agreement but disappointment pools in my gut, I had imagined he wanted to go to my place, who was I kidding? He didn’t love me, I was obviously in over my head. “Why aren’t you coming out?” he asks, breaking my internal monologue, when I look up, he was standing outside my door, the door he had already opened whilst I was drowning inside my head. “Oh, I didn’t... Bernard is back..”“It is late, he should be asleep by now, besides, he has no right to say anything about it.” he says with his hand outstretched for me to take. Gingerly, I reac
