Chapter ten

"How critical is she?" Sunny heard the tense voice of Santo speak from behind. She turned to him, vulnerability, fear. She could see all this swirling in his eyes. The same eyes that used to hold little to no emotions... if he didn't care about anything, family was certainly not part of it. She turned back to Rosa's unconscious form, sure she has seen countless wounded bodies throughout her career, but none had made her heart ache the way it does now.

Her eyes traced over Rosa's wound. "this cuts here.." she pointed to Rosa's wrist "here" her abdomen "and here" her forehead that was wrapped with a band aid "these were made with knives"

"We understand clearly by now that they wanted her dead," Santo said, crossing his arms over his chest

"No, that's the thing... if these people are as dangerous or skilled as they seem, then these cuts would have been deeper.. Rosa could die from anyone of these cuts if done properly, my point is they don't need three cuts to kill her, just one deep on
