Imagyn holds the back of my head like it’s fragile. She softly hums, running her fingers through my hair. Her touch is soothing, and she is too kind to me.

“My loving Wolf, it just tickles,” she says sweetly, “and it feels much better now. Thank you, Lorcan.”

My heart flutters as she says my name. I kiss her thighs again, and the bruises lighten. I continue to touch her skin, and they are barely visible anymore. I’m amazed by this mate bond and her healing.

“My Serpent,” she calls over her shoulder.

Xim comes up behind her, kissing her with care. I am in awe of them both. “My Alpha, stand up!” he says, not looking at me but at Imagyn.

I do so in a hurry not to anger him more. I am met by their longing but firm gazes. I could smell Imagyn clearly, but Xim’s scent was still faint.

“NEVER, again, will you bruise her skin!” He bellows, making me bow my head. His tone is like a command, making me proud.

“No, My Alpha, never again,” I say with all the love in my heart, “I Promise!”

Demona Maxwell

King Lorcan was on some thin ice there but luckily the mate bond is strong and they will recover.

I thank you all for your time and love of my work. You have no idea what it means to me. All I have ever wanted to do is write and get my novels out there, and with determination, I have done that. It's been a long road to publishing, and some places work better than others. Unfortunately, I'm leaving GoodNovel to continue my stories elsewhere. Hopefully, they will go to print in 2024. I'm unsure when my account will be removed here, but I am still available on Re.am Sto.ries and Dre.ame under Demona Maxwell. You can also follow me on Fa.ce.Book for more information. • Fated to the Queen   1-Shadow

Erebus - Summer of 1800 - Lion Island The massive full moon is bright in the sky, illuminating my path. I stop to breathe, finally arriving at the White Plains of Lion Island. It’s a breezy night making sand whip around, and the smell of the saltwater ocean is crisp on my senses. I look around to make sure no one is following us. They can’t track me by scent as I have none. Seeing it all clear, I’m satisfied I can pause for a minute to rest. With the cover of a gigantic tree, I prop against the trunk. I glance at the body draped over my shoulder, shifting it into my arms and cradling it close. I can hear a fog horn in the distance and know my ship is on the horizon. I can finally escape this place and create a new breed of warriors imbued by magic. The wind lightly tosses my captive’s stark white hair, and I’m thrilled the strategy worked. It’s taken years of planning to get to this moment, and now I have my reward. The Queen of the Shifters is mine and the main component of everyth

Kimarhi - Spring of 2000 - Lion Island Why me? Why am I stuck in a meeting on this beautifully sunny day? Well, because my second in command, Theo, has a habit of changing the training schedule. He should be here, discussing these boring matters, but he's at the training arena without me. If I must listen to outlines of the patrol guard duties for the Summit, then so does he. I look outside, hoping to be done soon, as I need to eat and kick Theo's ass. "A sentry warrior will be placed at each entryway of the clan house and along the border every hundred feet as the clans arrive. The warrior patrols will also run the perimeter every hour," Our tactical director, Peters, drones out like any of this is new to me. "I'm sure the other Clans will use their guards for personal protection. We need to focus ours on the ground and perimeter." He's one of our retired Lion Warriors in charge of clan security and is extra cautious during the summits. Alongside Theo and I, and he's third in line

Kimarhi Life as Queen has its simple joys. I retired for a hot bath after the spar. I strip out of my dirty clothes and slide into the boiling bath. I massage my body, getting to the aching muscles. I growl, letting the day steam off. Feeling heavy from the heat, I start to relax. Although bruised a bit, it’s a good pain. Shifters heal faster than humans, but it’s not instantaneous. Depending on the wound, you may need help from a healer to quicken the process. My minor injuries would be gone by this evening or in the morning. I have a decent bruise on my shoulder from the wall, and my ankle hurts from laying a hit wrong. I’ll have to work on that double-header kick. There’s a knot from head-butting someone, and my knuckles are in bad shape. All that aside, I love feeling the battle after. The pain of victory is always sweet. The only other hurt that’s better is those after-sex aches. Laying back again, my mind drifts to fantasies of pleasure. Taking my hand to my core, I start rub

Kimarhi In the morning, I wake with the sun shooting into my eyes. My head at the foot of my bed, and my legs hugging my pillow. Rolling over to escape the harsh light, I plop off the bed. Covers on the floor cushion my fall, and I sluggishly crawl over to shut the curtains. “Who opened you?” I snarl out at the window. How did I get here? Not remembering the night, I must’ve been drunker than I thought. Stretching out as far as my muscles will go, I get up to shower. I’m still sore from yesterday, but no physical evidence remains. Oddly, the soreness would stay. Reaching to turn on the hot water, it wakes my body, but my mind lags. Switching too cold for a minute, making my mind startles the rest of me into consciousness. I’m awake now and back to warm. Looking around, my senses are on high alert, my eyes pick up on the faintest light, and my hearing is pristine. I can hear the ocean miles away. Thinking it’s best not to dull them, I rinse and get out. Anya has my breakfast deliv

“Candidates!” Theo yells in human form, motioning for them to gather. After stretching, all the Candidates line up in their proper groups, with enough space to move. Everyone quietly looks to Theo and me for their next set of instructions. “First, we lap the perimeter as a warmup,” he circles the map on display. “Then we team up here to capture the flag!” I point to the wooded area just beyond the arena. “Take down your opponent to stun. The flag is the kill.” He concludes. “Yes, sir!” Shout the candidates in unison. “Then let us begin,” Theo blows his whistle again, and everyone disrobes, then goes down on one knee when finished. “And you may shift!” Theo yells once everyone is ready. The candidates start to transform with some cries of agony. The sound is almost deafening as bones are breaking and resetting. You can hear the skin pull as their bodies stretch onto all fours. The fur erupts like a wave as the shift ends, with roars of satisfaction. ‘ATTENTION,’ I command over

Reaching the arena, I am drawn to watch Magnus shift back to human. His lion form is beautiful. Slender golden brown with its flat mane to match, not darkened by age yet. After his stunning display, I’m craving his human body now. Magnus shifts back to human form while I watch. His muscular body flexes while he puts on just his shorts. He throws the shirt over his shoulder. He’s sweaty all over, and I can smell him. Not bad at all, almost like chocolate. Magnus heads to the water coolers, talking to a teammate. Then he goes to the shower room, near the hall from our first meeting. I whimper as he leaves my view, hoping no one heard that. A new burn under my skin forms as my body shifts back. Cracking and popping, I stretch once more as the transformation finishes. On all fours, I lean back on my knees and rise, grabbing my clothes and quickly dressing. Still, in lion form, Theo is working with half the shifted candidates now. ‘Theo, you’re in charge and good practice. I’m done for

“So stunning,” Magnus whispers on my lower lips with a kiss. Staring into my eyes, he takes his hand, cupping my breast. Squeezing it just enough, he leans in for the kiss finally. Soft at first but deepening to lustful, quickly, with a hand in my hair pulling it. I return his kiss, inviting his tongue inside. My hands lightly clawing at his shoulders, I longed for him to do more. Releasing my hair, he moves his hand down my side to pull me closer to him. My core is pulsing with excitement as his body’s throb teases me. This feels good, and like the run, I so much need it. Magnus breaks our kiss abruptly with a growl. Only to plunge his mouth at my neck, sliding down to my chest. His warm tongue, sucking on my free breast with care. I gasped as he lightly sucked on my nipple, nibbling and pinching it. I can feel my core swelling with arousal now. He further moves down with his mouth, releasing both breasts. On his knees in front of me, he hooks his fingers into the elastic of my pa

Lorcan My purring lioness knew what I needed at that moment, and I loved her so much for it. The sexual tension has been thick since meeting Imagyn. We said we would wait. One day doesn’t seem like a lot, but being fated comes with increased libido. Plus, today was different. I needed what was mine. Kimarhi lays exhausted on the table, breathing heavily and twitching. I remove myself gently and raise my pants. I looked around for something to clean her, catching sight of a serving tray and grabbing the tea towel around the handle. I press it lightly to her core, making her moan, letting it soak up our mess. She has a blissful look on her face, radiating beauty. After cleaning her, I again dipped between her legs. I kiss her thighs and core, apologizing for my rough handling. She moans with arousal and pushes herself into me reflexively. “My Queen, do you want more?” I kiss her again. She flips over and looks satisfied as she pulls me up to her face and kisses me. “I am pleasantl

Xim The issue in the arena baffles me as we head to see Sir Tavers. Imagyn grips me the whole way. She’s tense as we feel the irritation swimming from Lorcan and Kimarhi. I have never seen them this angry before, and it worries me. Upon arriving at Pride Council, there is a pliable silence as we wait. When I heard Kimarhi’s voice in my head for the first time. I shivered from head to toe; it was so lovely. Her sweet words make me realize I haven’t had anyone in my head in a while, not even Imagyn. I respond in kind, letting her know I Love her despite the tension. Imagyn looks eager to help, so I release her. She escorts Lorcan to us. He has a sneer that can only be described as pissed off. But our Luna guides him skillfully. ‘My Serpent, will you massage his shoulders,’ Imagyn asks through the link. ‘Yes, My love, anything for our King,’ and end the link. Helping Lorcan relax makes me feel strong and confident. He leans into my touch as Imagyn hums. She’s soothing him well that

I have no words while we walk through the village to the clan house. The land is beautifully decorated, but my mood sees it as dull and drab. How could this day of joy turn sour so quickly? I can feel Lorcan’s fury waving from my side. I reach out to him, realizing I’m not holding his hand. Xim and Imagyn are close behind, arms around each other in a cuddling walk. At least they aren’t too upset. We enter the pride council room, where Tavers waits in his usual chair. He looks concerned, “My Queen and My King, I’m sorry that this situation has befallen our clan on a wonderful day. I’m ashamed of Dorian’s actions,” he says sincerely with a bow. Saying his name makes Lorcan strain against me towards Tavers. I push back gently and shake my head at him. ‘It’s ok, my love,’ remembering I can pride link them now, I reach out to Imagyn and Xim. ‘My Loves, will you help me calm Lorcan? I fear my touch is not helping, as I am too angry.’ When I focus again, I see Imagyn approaching Lorcan, t

Kimarhi - Day Three of The Summit I wake up to the most wonderful scent of sweet air, rain, and thick musk. Within this bed lay the three most beautiful creatures I have ever met. I can’t help but stare at them lying next to me. Lorcan, my bold King, handsome and forceful. Xim, my soothing snake, is adorably shy—and Imagyn, my Luna and beautiful bird, sweetly innocent and magical. Unable to contain my joy, I wake them each with a kiss. “Good morning, my loves,” I say, kissing each of them. “That was the best sleep I have ever had,” Imagyn hums. After eating a quick breakfast in bed, we all rise to greet our guards. Magnus and Rieka joined us this morning and met Imagyn and Xim. They hit it off, and Rieka helped us dress for the day. “The ceremony will be starting soon. Is everyone ready?” I asked nervously while surveying the room. My gorgeous mates look good enough to eat. Lorcan is dressed in a suit, much like yesterday. It matches the colors I’m wearing perfectly—a deep orang

The Watcher - Evening of Summit Day Two I couldn’t follow my Queen today, having my own issues to deal with. I have had enough of all the praise the people have given since the battle. A few like-minded thinkers may be able to sate my anger. My evening stroll brings me back to another shoreside gathering. I join the campfire. My last visit was tense, and I noticed a significant change in the atmosphere tonight. “Can you believe he did that?” a young Lion warrior says in awe, “Right in the middle of battle? Shifting between each kill to bark commands.” “Yeah, that was different and quite brave for our King,” an older man chuckles. “The Queen even relayed through the link to reinforce his decisions,” This warrior has his arm in a sling. As I look around, I notice a few of them with treated injuries. To my surprise, one of my potential recruits jumps up with an enthusiastic smile, “Did you see when he slashed that one Wolf almost in two?” he mimics the motions from the battle scene.

Anya - Evening of Summit Day Two “I do hope Imagyn will be all right,” Morgan says, biting his fingernail. “He’s been repeating himself since it happened,” I point out. Tavers’ usual calm demeanor is also slipping. He’s on his third cup of tea as he paces Pride Council. I can see he is deep in thought as he strides. Morgan mumbles again, and I lightly touch his hand to try and calm him. “I’m sure she was simply overwhelmed by everything, Morgan,” I assure him, “None of this is your fault. You did nothing wrong.” “There is no mistaking it is meant to be,” Tavers says over me. He pauses for a moment. As it looks like he will finally sit, he turns away from the chair and moves again. I want to bake something to assail my nerves. “Imyagyn is Kimarhi’s third,” Tavers proclaims, “We have to talk with them.” “And we will, but not yet,” I shake my head, “Give them some time to process all of this.” Morgan slumps his posture more. “You must calm down, you old fool,” I pat his back. “I

Xim “Let me keep you warm, my love,” I took her in my arms. It’s surreal that she is finally mine. Holding Imagyn on the bed, I rub her drying the water, speckling her body. She swoons at my touch and leans into me. The flower petals in her wet hair smell divine, picking up her scent and Kimarhi’s. I’m overwhelmed by her being so close. Her exposed shoulders tempt me to lean forward and pepper them with light kisses. She moans in delight, and I watch a wave of bumps spread across her freckled skin. In the past, I could never make the first move with Imagyn. Not once did I push or tell her how I felt. I always allowed her to lead, but now everything has changed. These sensational sparks, I feel with her, are driving me to do more. All I want to do is touch her. For months I dreamt of this. Her arms wrap around my neck. I don’t fight as she lures me in. I stare deep into her eyes and fall head over heels for her again. “My I’ma. I love you so much!” I have no idea how I could ever
