Lucifer's POV

I had taken Ruthless out on a little run to stretch his hoofs when I turned around and noticed a mare being ridden on. I was baffled when I squinted my eyes in the darkness and noticed it was a woman riding a horse.

By this time? I decided to go through the other way and catch her unawares.

When I saw her from afar at the riverbank tying the horse close to a tree. The horse looked like Snowball and for a fact I knew she did not like being ridden by anyone else except me and I was surprised as I began to run along a list of possible people who could have taken Snowball out by this time.

I did not need to think too much about it when the sudden swiftness of the person alerted me. A vampire and I had no other vampire in the pack house except Ashlyn. Then it dawned on me she was trying to get away and I went after her, caught up with her and we tumbled to the ground.

She was shocked and alarmed to see me and without dallying she got off me and attempted to run again, but

Ashlyn's POV"What, what are you saying Roselia?" I stuttered in shock as I stared at her in disbelief. "I did not want to believe it too. You're a vampire and all. Vampires can't procreate, but I've been noticing you and this morning, it became obvious to me that you were pregnant." She said and my head was spinning. I was pregnant. Pregnant with Lucifer's child and now that child was gone due to his brutality. I was baffled. I had a child growing inside of me all these while and I had no idea about it. I was shocked and I held my stomach and laid sideways on the bed sobbing silently. I should be glad that the replica of Lucifer growing inside of me was gone, but I wasn't. The child was also mine too. A part of me. "I'm sorry, milady. But, I still wonder how you got pregnant." She said in puzzlement.I could not respond to her. I could not tell her I was an hybrid. I was not even thinking properly. All I knew was that I had a child growing inside me and she was no more. She was

Ashlyn's POV I was shocked beyond the extraordinary. Lost for words as Iona immediately connected to the nine foot tall lycan in front of her. He was taller than every other lycan I have seen. Their eyes locked, also connecting me with Lucifer. "Turn away." I immediately told her but she said not a word to me. I turned to leave but Iona was having a mind of her own as she stayed rooted to where she was. "I am Steel. The invincible One of the Nightwing pack." He introduced himself. I rolled my eyes. Oh great, he was just as proud as his body he was in. "You are?" He asked in a sweet and innocent tone. "Iona." She simply said to him and turned away. Finally, I thought to myself. "Iona, forgive me, but you cannot leave." Steel said to her calmly. "I'm not leaving, I just need to talk to my human self." She replied and I knew she meant me. We really had a lot to talk about. I wanted to know why she'd abandoned me until now. Why did she not also snarl at Lucifer and his l

Ashlyn's POV I stared at him as emotions swirled around and inside of me. His gaze was unwavering from my eyes with so much emotions radiating from them. Different emotions of anger, hurt, perplexity and remorse all etched on his face. This was the first time I was seeing him this way. Perhaps he was genuinely hurt by what he did? Was he remorseful about it? Or was just this just an act? I pushed him off from me and smiled bitterly. "Really?" I asked him and turned to his subjects, his comrades, his mistresses who all stared in shock and bewilderment. "I am his mate and yet he treats me like a good for nothing!" I said and he pulled me back in anger. "Being my mate does not change in thing." He replied through gritted teeth. "Does carrying your child for a while do?" I asked him equally angry. He clenched his jaw before responding. "Nothing has changed, Ashlyn. We're still maintaining the kind of relationship we have." He responded."A Master and mistress relationship?" I asked

Ashlyn's POV "I want you here." He whispered huskily after moments of silence. Delivering bouquets of chills and shivers down my stomach. I was still very much angry at him, but I could not deny the masculine effects he had on my body. "I do not want to be here." I said to him still trying to steady my heartbeat. "It's not a matter of choices." He replied as he stared at me."I should have a choice, but yet in every way you still remind me of my father." I said to him and his eyes flashed. He had an unappeased anger in him and I could see he was fighting to control it. "If I was your father, would I touch you in this manner?" He asked as as he skidded his hand along my bare thighs and up to my waist. I swallowed as my lustful body responded to his touch and waiting for the feel of his lips to taste the rawness of mine. I shook my head. "It's only the touch of a cruel master." I said to him. He buried his face on my neck. "A Master is meant to be cruel in all his ways. All his do

Lucifer's POV I left Ashlyn's arms before she woke up the next morning and I walked out of the room hoping the early morning air would blow away any mucky thought in my head. Sofia stopped me before I could cross the stairs. "We need to talk." She said as a matter of fact. I frowned at her despising the tone of authority in her voice. "Should you not have returned to the French quarters by now?" I asked her irritated already by her presence. She heaved in shock. "Are you sending me away?" She asked. "As a matter of fact, yes. I do not need your drama right now." I said to her and turned to leave. "Because of her?" She inquired in an hateful tone. I turned around. "Because of whom, if I may ask?" I asked her. Damned the French wanton. I need no permission to ask a question before I do. "You know well who I'm talking about." She said to me. "Since you have decided not to be clear, I leave you to whatever hate is eating you up." I replied and turned to leave again. "I'm talking

Ashlyn's POV I was through with my bath and donned on a simple gown. I was surprised to see my almost empty closet, filled with new dresses and I had no doubts in my heart that Roselia was the reason behind it. I walked down the stairs and met with Sofia and her three musketeers. I rolled my eyes. The good Lord knew I was not in the mood for their tantrums but yet, they keep coming seeking for what they could not get. "Lucifer's most prized possession." Sofia said smiling as she advanced towards me. I narrowed my eyes at her. "I doubt that." I said to her. She raised a brow. "Did he not make a reference to it last night?" She asked the other mistresses who nodded their heads like a lizard with a bone stuck in its throat. "What do you want now? Don't tell me you're here to force me into being in bed with you?" I asked her. She waved it aside. "Your one opportunity to have a feel of it is gone." She answered."Good. I'll pass." I said to her and turned to leave, but Sia pulled me

Lucifer's POV Ruthless retreated back and neighed at the sight of me while I furrowed my brows at Ashlyn annoyed. I made her stand properly and I went to Ruthless. "Aye, friend, are you alright?" I asked him and he neighed leaning on my shoulder. I ruffled his mane and turned to Ripper. "I recall giving you a clear warning never to let her near an horse." I said to him and he nodded. "Technically, you said ride and I was not.." She began to speak. "Shut up!" I yelled at her and she stumbled back a bit at my outburst. "You do not talk while I'm still talking." I said to her upset at the fact that she had taken such risk to go closer to Ruthless. What if he'd knocked her down and she breaks a bone? Only I understood Ruthless and the way he thinks. I turned back to Ripper and Rage. "Who allowed this?" I inquired in anger. They both looked at each other. "I.." Ashlyn began to speak again and I shushed her up raising my hand and upholding a finger in mid air. "Speak not or face my

Ashlyn's POV It was already getting dark and the moon was about to rise fully in the grey sky. I had stayed with Rage and Ripper watching the horses being trained for the Games and they looked like they were born for this. "Here comes Kill." Ripper said suddenly and I looked at the direction his eyes were upon. "And here comes your task." Rage added with a snicker. I swallowed. What difficult task would he set for me? It was definitely not going to be as bad as Lucifer's. After all he was only a mini caricature of him. Not really the vicious alpha. "I've been told to assign you to a task, young Miss. Come with me." Kill said as soon as he approached me and turned away without waiting for an answer. I duly followed him and he took me to the weapon room. "This is your task. Take down all the weapons and armor. Clean them thoroughly, they shall be used in the events." He said and walked away as soon as he was done barking his orders at me.Alright, that was rude, but I could not do

Ashlyn's POV I had left the pack house earlier that morning to the river and that was when a shot was fired at me leaving me unconscious. I was regaining consciousness when I heard Lucifer renounce his position as the Laird and when Hawking had let his guard down and I took the chance to take the gun from him without wasting time, I fired the rifle. Hell let loose as bullets and arrows flew around. Lucifer transformed immediately and as an arrow was fired towards me, he stood in front of me, grabbing the arrow and breaking it into two before running over to the shooter to rip his head off. His comrades too had shifted and many of the pack warriors were coming out of the territory. The battle was fierce as the battalion of rebels took over fighting too. Lucifer ex mistresses all charged towards me and had also transformed into their forms except Sofia. Celine transformed into a werewolf and Sia, Juliette and Meredith transformed into Lycanthropes.I let Iona take control and shifte

Roselia's POV I heaved. It was time the Lady knew about the alpha. "Come with me, dear," I said motioning to her to follow me to my room. She did. We got to my room and I locked the door. "Come sit with me." I said holding her hand and leading her to the bed. We both sat down. She had curiosity written allover her. "It was forty decades ago when Queen Katrin, Lucifer's mother was married to Alpha Charles, Lucifer's father and I was her trusted and youngest servant. She was married to him for years without a child and when a decade passed without her still not carrying his child, she decided to go the extra mile just to get a child." I said to her. She stared at me paying rapt attention. "Another year passed again and when she could not get a child from the moon goddess, she went to the witches of the night to get one. That was how she got Lucifer." I said to her and she gasped in shock. "She told me that a pentagram was drawn and the witch she had gone to was a dark witch who co

Ashlyn's POV I sat on the ground in the study room crying my eyes out till noon. If I could believe that he had nothing to do with Celine, why does he not believe that I have nothing to do with Stye? I stood up from the floor wiping my tears. Crying would not solve my problem. I have to prove my innocence. I walked out of the study room and bumped into Celine. "Pardon me," she said, smirking. At that moment, all of my frustrations and anger rose up again. "You bitch!" I said to her in anger as I pulled her by the hair. "Have you gone crazy? Let me go!" She yelled at me. I refused. "Listen to me you nitwit, I know you have a hand in everything happening to me. I just know it." I said to her. She freed herself from my grasp. "Do not accuse me for your infidelity, Ashlyn," she said in anger. "I did not ask you to spread your legs for another man to lay with you." She added snickering. "You know I did not do it. I'll prove my innocence, I promise you." I said to her and she snicke

Ashlyn's POV Three days passed, and today was the day Lucifer was to return back to the house and to me. I was anticipating his return. Ripper, Stealth, and Roselia had played a good part of keeping me out of boredom till he returns. I was seated at the dining area when Roselia brought in a tray having a cup of tea, bread, grits and gravy, sausages and devilled eggs on it. "Is this not too much?" I asked her in surprise as she placed it in front of me. She chuckled. "No, milady. You need to eat more than drink blood." She said to me. I smiled at her. "Thank you." I said to her as I began to munch on the breakfast before me. "You're glowing so much today, milady. I'm sure it's your anticipation for the Laird's return." She said to me smiling and I blushed and nodded. I took a sip from the tea and placed it back on the saucer. Before I could take another bite from the sausage, the urge to throw up took over and I turned aside and vomited blood on the floor. "Oh my, are you alrig

Ashlyn's POV He held me in arms in that position for a long time till my tears could no longer flow down my cheeks. I raised my head up to look at him, and his was filled with warm emotions. He held my chin in between his thumb and index finger. "There's never going to be another woman in my life, Ash. Not in this life or the next." He said to me and I believed him. I should have known it was another scheme of Celine to separate us. I do believe him but why does he not believe me? I opened my mouth to speak, but he stopped me. "Do not say a word." He said as he placed his lips on mine. • Morning approached quickly and the familiar warmth that laid beside me last night was gone and replaced with an empty and cold bed. I opened my eyes and indeed Lucifer was no longer beside me. I got up to a sitting position on the bed and sighed. Then I had a weird feeling that everything was about change. Just then, Lucifer walked into my room. The door was still broken and unfixed. He was a

Ashlyn's POVIt was noon when I finally stepped out of my room. I walked down the stairs feeling very famished. Hungry for food and a little blood too. I walked into the kitchen to find Roselia making lunch with a few helps in the kitchen too. "Just a few minutes, milady and lunch would be ready." She said just as if she knew why I was here. I chuckled as I went towards a tin of biscuits. "I can have this till lunch is ready init?" I asked her. She smiled. "Yes, milady." She said. I opened the tin of biscuits and munched on a few before heading out of the kitchen. Maybe I should speak to Lucifer and see if I could get a bag of blood or two. I walked towards the living room and saw Alpha Hawking walking into the house with his beta beside him. His eyes lit the instant he saw me. "My days on earth have been blessed to have seen the goddess of beauty herself this noon." He said to me. I faked a smile at his flattery. I really do not know why Lucifer trusted this man when everything

Lucifer's POV I sat on the couch rubbing my aching neck the next morning. I was not fully awake yet due to the fact that I had a very uncomfortable and sleepless night. I had slept on the couch due to my anger towards Ash, and now I was regretting it. Maybe I should not have gone to sleep while still upset with her but, I just could not believe what she had come up with just for me to look past her mistake. Steel too had added to my sleepless night with his talks and anger toward me. I was glad he finally kept quiet this morning. "Did you sleep on the couch?" I heard Celine's voice and looked up to see her standing behind a couch opposite me. I groaned. "Yeah, I did," I said to her. "On your wedding night?" She asked raising a brow. I frowned at her. "Are you here to mock me or say something better?" I asked her. I was not in a big mood for taunts or teasing. She knew very well I did not get married yesterday. "Why would I mock you, Lucifer? You claim she's your mate and she cl

Ashlyn's POV He was no longer wearing his wedding attire, but his usual signature look. Long black breeks, knee boots and sleeves unbuttoned to his chest. "Satisfied your cravings?" He asked me, not in a cold, harsh or sweet way. I could not tell what he was thinking, for he was not portraying any emotions. I shook my head. "I did not do it. I controlled myself." I said to him. Anger flashed in his eyes and he quickly masked it. "Good for you." He said rising to his feet and walked past me. "I'm sorry." I said turning around to his retreating figure. I did not know if he wanted an apology, but to me he deserved it. He turned around sharply and this time I could see his emotions. It was anger and he was trying to control it. "For what?" He asked in pretense. "For leaving when the wedding was still in hold." I replied, looking down at my feet. The smell of blood was not gone and I was beginning to wonder where it was from. "Spare me." He said, walking away. "Lucifer, please, I'

Ashlyn's POV Dawn took extremely too long to come and I guessed it was due to my over excitement for today. Noon did the same thing and when evening slowly approached, I was seated in front of the vanity mirror with Roselia and a couple other ladies beside me. Catriona had returned back to her homeland with her brother and it was crazy how much I missed having her around. Right now, I was surrounded by ladies I see in the pack, but do not know them and that I had barely associated with. It was all going to change when I finally become the Lady of the house.
