Alpha Damien's POV Continued

The next few days seemed to just fly by. Between training, working with the new warriors, integrating them into our pack with my people and going over pack business I feel as if I haven't seen Dahlia at all.

When I start my day she is still sleeping, then when I finally get back to our room to go to bed she's already asleep.

She sneaks by the training grounds every day to make sure I eat lunch, then to my office to bring me dinner. Yet there is no real time for us through that.

She has been busy with everything going on as well. Working with our female members to make sure everything is set up in the bunkers. Baking, or cooking all morning long with the kitchen staff to ensure that everyone is fed and taken care of.

She has fully stepped into her role as the Luna of the pack. People come to her with issues that sheanages to take care of quickly and efficiently.

Alexi has told me that Levi has settled in with her perfectly. They work in tandem with one a

Alpha Damien's POV Continued A silence sat around the woods. Not a sound could be heard. There were no crickets, no crunching of leaves from small animals scurrying along the forest floor. The old owl that would hoot every night I came out for a run wasn't even making his normal sounds. Instead the forest held an eerily quietness to it. Predators lurking in the shadows of the night making every living creature around run the other direction. Standing behind trees, hiding within the brush of night, staying unseen from the Moonlight that shined above. I waited. Breathing in deeply to catch a scent that was unknown to me as my guards stayed in their normal stations. Alexi waited with his father, my Uncle, along with Levi about a 100 yards behind me. All just waiting around for the inevitable to finally happen. Warriors lie in wait all around, covering every inch of our pack outside from where I am. Mikko feels antsy from staying still. His blood lust at full force. The

Dahlia's POV When Damien's words flowed through my mind my body went on high alert. Nose in the air as we caught different scents coming from the direction in front of where we stand. Hiding in the shadows along with Levi. Nudging him slightly in warning as he began to slow his heart rate down to almost seem as if it had stopped. Masking our scents as we waited so as to not be detected by any that may attempt to slip past us. 'You know if this goes in our favor...' 'There is no "if" Dahlia, this is going to go in our favor.' Shaking my head I smiled inside my mind. 'When this goes our way, you will be the Alpha of the Knight Pack.' He sighed deeply, making me turn slightly to look at him. 'You will be a wonderful Alpha Levi.' 'It always should have been you Dahl's.' 'No, I never wanted that. Being Luna, being with Damien, that's what I was always meant for. You are the Alpha that the pack truly needs.' He pushed his snout into my fur around my neck. Before we could spe

  • Fated to the Enemy   91 My Father

Dahlia's POV Continued I was so lost in the moments spent in that fight with Christopher I forgot about everything else going on around me. My eyes were locked down on his lifeless body, unable to find a way to look anywhere else but couldn't. He was dead. I killed the boy I grew up watching when I was out of that hell room away from the world. The boy my mother had said would be good for me if we were mated. The man I watched him grow into from afar only to feel the mate bond snap into place from across a room when we both came of age. I lost my innocence to him before catching him cheating on me on our wedding day. He's the reason I ran. It's because of him I found my way here, to this pack, to Damien. Now he's gone but I feel sorrow for the loss of him. Despite everything that happened, the anger, the hurt, the betrayal. I know I shouldn't feel bad, shouldn't hold sadness inside of me for what has happened, but I do nonetheless. Death wasn't what I felt he deserved, y

  • Fated to the Enemy   92 Finding her

Levi's POV The moment I was surrounded by warriors I could see the questioning in their eyes. The fear that coursed through them when they realized just who I was. To fight, not only an Alpha Heir, but their very own Alpha Heir, was not exactly something one would normally choose to do. Looking through them was when my heart stuttered to almost a complete stop. Christopher was going after Dahlia. Rage coursed through my body making me almost rabid as I threw my body at a warrior to my right. Ripping his throat out immediately before lunging towards the next one that thought it would be a smart move to come at me. They all learned rather quickly that their death was imminent and if they hadn't, well it didn't matter because they all lay dead at my paws when I snapped my head up to see that Dahlia and Christopher are no longer in my line of sight. Sniffing the air, the copper smell was all I could sense out. Running, fighting, killing. Fear for my sister coursing through m

  • Fated to the Enemy   93 Her against Him

Alpha Damien's POV My heart hammered inside of my chest as she spoke. When he accepted her challenge I saw red. Mikko was burning me from the inside out as I forced him down, making my body quiver as we fought against one another. When I watched the way Alpha Knight shifted back into his wolf, then her doing the same, my feet controlled themselves as we stepped in front of her. 'What the HELL do you think you are doing!' I yelled with absolute fury as I stared at Alanah. Her fur tinged with blood yet whatever wounds she had withstood were already healed. My breathing was heavy as I growled deep within my chest before her soft calm tone swam through my mind. 'Damien please. You have to understand.' 'UNDERSTAND!' 'Yes, understand. This isn't something I'm doing on a whim. This is what is necessary. If you kill him then no one will ever truly see Levi as their Alpha. Even if you chose to give him that title over his pack they will all see you as their true Alpha. He will ru

  • Fated to the Enemy   94 Pushing through

Dahlia's POV 'You will NEVER be more than what you have always been, daughter. Weak, broken, unworthy. You truly believe you stand a chance against me?' A deep chuckle booms through my mind as Alanah snarls at him as he has us pinned down to the hard cold ground below us. His jaws snapping in my face as I snap back at him. I can feel so many eyes weighing down on us. They all assume I will die here tonight. Lying beneath this man that calls himself a father. He isn't, not truly anyway. Alanah is fighting hard against his hold. It feels like it's been an eternity, trapped beneath his body but I know logically it hasn't. We just need a chance, one single chance to turn this in our favor. I can feel Levi's worry bleeding through my body as harshly as I can feel Damien's. Yet even with Damiens worry I feel something else pressing through to me when Alanah speaks to me. 'Mikko, he's trying to push himself through the bond!' My thoughts try to make sense of what she is

  • Fated to the Enemy   95 To the End

Dahlia's POV Continued Moving slightly I opened my jaw, then without anything else mattering around me I clamped down hard onto his neck. Teeth sliding through fur and flesh as blood started to fill my mouth. The metallic taste flowed in making me want to gag but I resisted the urge as a growl slipped from him. A white hot pain sliced through my side forcing me to want to release my hold but I endured as I screamed inside my head. I could feel Alanah forcing us to maintain our hold despite the instinct to let go. His claws were ripping into our side, the pain was excruciating as he seemed to dig inside me deeper but I bit down harder until I heard the gurgle. He was choking. He wasn't spitting insults any longer. The only sounds inside my mind were Alanah's whimpers of pain mixed with my own. It felt like an eternity. Laying there as I felt his body becoming weaker. He tried to pull back but stopped when my teeth slid across his jugular. His grip in my side lessened.

  • Fated to the Enemy   96 A New Alpha

Levi's POV My body ached with every small movement. My head spun in circles as they tore into one another but that singular moment, that exact second I felt her clamp down around his neck it felt as if the teeth were sinking into my own flesh. How can I be an Alpha if I feel so much? When she spoke those words, when she said she was fighting for me to be Alpha, my world froze. She believes in me through it all. She sees me in a way I'm unsure I could ever see myself. Just another reason that shows she was always meant for this role, not me. She was to be Alpha with me by her side as her Beta or just her brother. I lack the confidence in myself to lead others but I'm great at taking orders, at following. Yet her faith in me makes me want to be everything she believes I can be. Alexi hasn't left my side since we got here, since this fight began. I can feel his body vibrating next to mine as I shrink onto myself from the pain. Like a snap inside my head I screamed out while my

Dahlia's POV Continued Once I left my brother alone with Rose I walked through the hall leading to the stairs before stopping. Everything has changed so much for me in what feels like a blink of an eye. I looked up the next set of stairs to where my room sat before turning to look down the other set of stairs where the front doors sat leading outside and into the woods where Damien found me. Little pieces of memories flashed through my mind of that day. The way I felt lost and scared honestly. How I managed to escape my wedding just to venture too far out of my own territory and into that, if what I believed at the time to be enemy territory. I'll never forget the way his eyes darkened when he looked down at me. Or how I swore I should fear him yet instead was intrigued by the man looming so dangerously over me. It's crazy to me to think about the fact that he knew I was meant to be his yet I didn't. How it could have felt to stand in front of your second chance mate only for

  • Fated to the Enemy   108

Dahlia's POV Continued "Oh my sweet Rose, he had to. He didn't leave you. He needed to bring back the warriors from his pack. He's Alpha now and has no choice." I held her out from me so she would hopefully look at me, which she shakily did. "He was absolutely torn apart having to leave here. He didn't want to until you had time and chose to see or speak with him. He is broken right now." She sniffed then wiped her face with the sleeve of her shirt. Her eyes swirled making it so I could finally see a bit of her wolf sitting there. "Broken?" I sighed, my head tilting to the side as I nodded with a small tip of my lips. I actually felt a bit relieved by the way she was acting. She was scared about this entire situation, but I can see she wants him still. She's curious about him and now I can see that her wolf is as well. They haven't shut put the idea of him. I don't want her to live in fear, but my brother would never hurt her. The thought of him getting rejected b

  • Fated to the Enemy   107

Dahlia's POV "So you have decided to take Nico as what then Levi?" "As my new Delta. Honestly, I have no idea who to choose for my Beta. You are the only person I have ever trusted to that level before. Everything was planned out for such a long time that I have no idea where to truly go from here now." I wrapped my arms around my brother, hugging him tightly before we pulled away again. "Have you tried to.." "I spoke with her, Levi." The previous day I went in search of Rose. Of course I could have just mindlinked her that I wanted to see her, but I chose not to. I needed to walk around a bit after Damien kept me within the confines of our room for 48 hours. I was feeling a bit stir crazy and so was Alanah. She had been pacing continuously for hours on end feeling trapped. Instead we ventured out, walking around the pack house in search of my best friend. When I did find her, which wasn't exactly hard for me to do, she was out in the small garden she had shown

  • Fated to the Enemy   106

Levi's POV By the time I made it back home I was a complete wreck. My wolf wasn't speaking to me despite the fact that it wasn't my fault our mate ran away from us and locked herself in her room. Honestly he was upset that I had the audacity to leave pack grounds without trying to see her again. I understood. I felt the pang through my chest within every single heartbeat I managed to pump. My heart shattered when she looked at me with those big beautiful wide eyes. That recognition wasn't what I had wanted. However, knowing more about who she is thanks to Alexi, I understood why she ran off, even if I didn't want to accept it. The bitter feeling of rejection lingered throughout my body, but she needed time. She hadn't outright rejected me so I held on to a bit of hope. Being back in this house feels surreal though. My mother's body had been burned and now sat on the mantel inside the office that used to hold my father. It was a blatant disrespect for him to do su

Dahlia's POV Continued I am unsure when I fell back to sleep but waking alone on a tattered bed was a bit depressing. I felt for Damien but even his scent was a bit weak meaning he had been gone for a bit by now. As I forced my eyes to open I was blinded by the sunlight seeping through the window. Squinting away I rolled to my side only to wince slightly from where the stitches were still woven through my tattered skin. Forcing myself into a sitting position I brought my legs over the side of the bed before my feet touched the ground. Unlike my dream of the past, the floor held a warmth to it. Stretching out my toes I slowly stood myself up. Sore from whatever position I managed to sleep in I stretched out my back only to hear a loud popping sound that made me sigh out in relief. Trudging myself into the bathroom, not bothering to turn the light on just yet, I relieved my aching bladder before standing in front of the sink to look up into the mirror. My hair was atro

  • Fated to the Enemy   104

Dahlia's POV The moment his lips touched mine a fire ignited deep within my soul. Like everything made sense again in my life. The feel of his rough calloused fingers lightly trailing down my naked back sent a shiver run along my spine. His hands gripped my ass as he hauled me up into his arms, my legs wrapping around his large body. I felt small in his arms. Like he could shield me from the world if he chose to do so. I was safe, protected, wanted, loved. All the things I have truly ever wanted to have or feel my entire existence. He didn't kiss me hard, nor did he hold me tightly. I could feel the worry slipping through the connection we shared at the weakened state I was still in. He was gentle as he carried me across the room to the shredded bed. The bed I managed to destroy all because of stupid dreams of a past I will never have to go back to again. I was truly and unequivocally free for the first time ever. He was gone. The man that did everything in his power

  • Fated to the Enemy   103

Alpha Damien's POV Continued She sat there, her eyes filled with unshed tears as she stared at me. My body went to shift, I wanted to pull her into me and hug her tightly when her eyes fell from mine to the bed below her. The way her eyes widened as she took in the state of our bed when Levi spoke from behind me. "Could be worse considering how gigantic Alanah is. The bed can be replaced, okay Dahl's, get out of your head." I was about to yell at him for the way he spoke so casually, almost mean, to her until a small huff of a laugh left her pink full lips. Tilting my head I watched as the corner of her mouth tipped up before she looked back up. Her eyes went to mine before shifting back over my shoulder where Levi stood. "Guess it could have been the whole room, or one of you." Her voice was a whisper. When she attempted to clear her throat she winced so I stood, going to the side table to grab her some water. Holding it out to her, her eyes locked onto mine and I cou

  • Fated to the Enemy   102 What's happening to her?

Alpha Damien's POV I watched as her body contorted on the bed. The way she twisted then turned looked painful as she whimpered.Everything in me wanted to grab her, pull her body into mine and tell her she was okay, that whatever was happening was only a dream but I couldn't. Levi stood next to me, his arm outstretched in front me.“You can't go to her right now. If she was to wake and see she hurt you it would only break her.”His eyes watched her as I looked over at him. The pain in his gaze told me that this was hurting him as it was her.“Please Alpha Damien, trust me right now. This nightmare can't be undone. Her and Alanah need to finish this.”“FINISH IT?! Look at her Levi! She is writhing in pain!”“I know. This used to happen all the time between the beatings.”His tone was now a whisper so low that without Mikko I may not have heard him properly. This was a nightmare from her past, one that I cannot change for her. Maybe I can't take away what happened to her back then, b

  • Fated to the Enemy   101 Dream 2

Dahlia's POV Continued Levi leapt to his feet just as our father gripped him with his small arm, making him whimper as he shoved him from the room, slamming it in his face, but not before I saw the fear in Levi's eyes. When he turned I instinctually tried to pull myself further away from him, but with the wall already at my back I had nowhere to go. "You are eating these desserts!? What have you done to earn such a treat?" His tone was sharp and filled with anger that made me recoil as he slapped them off the bed making them crash and break against the wall and floor. My body shook as he grabbed my hair, ripping me from the bed. A sharp pain pierced through my head making me scream out in pain. Blood rushing through my ears muffled out his yells as the pain in my head also numbed the sharp slap that slammed across my face. My body began to ache in a way I didn't know was possible. I couldn't help but wonder what he was doing to me to cause this amount of pain. How was
