CHEER ME UP

I sat up quickly, cold sweat dripped down from my face and neck. The room was terribly warm. What sought of a creepy dream was that?

It was still dark but the space beside my bed was empty.

I placed my foot on the floor and it was cold. I retreated it quickly. What the heck was wrong with the temperature?.

There were voices coming from outside the door. I searched for my dress and found it. I put it on quickly and combed my fingers through my hair.

I walked to the door and opened it.

“If Rainee finds out about this, she would want to go with you."

" I won't let her, but I feel it's important she knows. This is about her mother, she would want to know. If we just disappear without an explanation…."

My father stopped talking and looked behind Felix's shoulder as he caught a glimpse of me watching them from the small crack in the door.

Felix turned to me and I felt caught.

“Baby go back inside...." He said pushing me in and closing the door.
