Shawn's POV
It's been a week since Abbigail and I both confessed our feelings for each other. It's also been as long since the nightmares have returned each night. I had thoughts of calling her, but didn't want to disturb her sleep. I called my sister and my parents, but none of them were able to help me calm down so I could sleep, not like Abbigail. I was sitting in my bed, rocking myself unable to calm down from my nightmare and no one is answering their phone. I really don't want to bother Abbigail, but I'm scared to sleep. I pick up my phone and it was nearly two in the morning. I end up caving, needing to feel her in my arms and call her. To my surprise she answers on the second ring. "Shawn? Are you having trouble sleeping," she asks with concern in a tired whisper. "I haven't really slept all week and no one else can calm me down like you do. I really don't want to bother you, but I need you," I choke in broken sobs. "No one else is picking up and I'm scared.""Come over," she says in a soothing whisper. "Don't be afraid to wake me Shawn."Just hearing her voice was soothing and I was able to calm down some. "Will you stay on the phone with me, please," I ask in a calming whisper. "Of course, you already sound a little calmer," she says with relief.I let her do most of the talking so I could keep calm while I drove. I concentrated on my breathing and her voice. Before I knew it I was both calm and pulling in her driveway. I hung up my phone as she opened the front door and I walk in her arms.I drop my bag of clothes inside the door and hold onto her for a minute. I breathe in her lingering rose perfume and feel myself relax the rest of the way. She rubs at my back and I lift her up to wrap around my waist. She switches to run her hands in my hair and I let out a calming sigh. She gives my forehead a kiss and I head for her bedroom. She starts kissing my neck before I reach her room and I gasp a moan.I lay her in bed, climbing between her legs and kiss her passionately. It was a good distraction from my nightmares and I needed it, the distraction. She was tugging at my shirt, trying to pull it over my head and I help her. Her shirt was quick to follow. Her hands roam my chest, massaging my breasts and I moan. "Are you okay to do this right now," she asks with concern, caressing my face."Please, I need a distraction from these nightmares," I choke in a scared whisper. "I haven't felt this calm since the last time we shared a bed to sleep."She pushes me on my back, straddling my legs. I erect against her and she gasps, biting her bottom lip. She reaches over in her nightstand and pulls a condom from the drawer. She grinds her hips down against my erection and we both moan."Abbigail," I plead in a whisper, flexing my hips up against her. She places her finger to my lips, rising to her knees as she removes her panties and unties my pajama bottoms. I help her remove my pants and boxers. She runs her hands up my legs until she's gently grasping my erection. She opens the condom and tries to roll it over me. I help her get it over the tip and she rolls it down teasingly slow, before massaging my balls. My breaths quicken and she moves to lower herself onto my hard shaft. She slowly lowers until she's sitting flesh against flesh. She rolls her hips and it allows me to enter her deep, hitting all of her sensitive spots. Soon her hips are moving fast and hard. Her moans drown out mine sinking her nails into my stomach. It didn't take long for us to reach climax and she collapses on top of me, body convulsing from her orgasm. Both of us were out of breath, laying in a tangled mess of limbs. "Let's take a bath," she says in a breathy tone. "Okay," I say catching my breath. She gets off my lap and I notice the condom is broken. "Abbigail, are you on any birth control?""No, why? You sound nervous," she says with concern."Our condom broke and I came hard," I say quietly afraid of how she's going to react. She was sitting on the bed with her back to me and she was quiet. I was scared of what to do, but knew I wanted to be there for her. I move to sit next to her and silent tears rolled down her cheeks. "Are you going to run if...," she starts to ask in a choked whisper and I took her in my arms."I'm not going anywhere Abbigail, not even when you push me away," I say in a soothing tone and she holds onto me. "I'm sorry. "She laughs in her sobs and says, "I had a part in this too. I just wasn't ready for this if it happens, but I'm happy to go through it if it's with you."I wipe her eyes and kiss her forehead. "I meant what I said. I'm not going anywhere," I say softly and she lets out a calming breath. "You still wish to take a bath?"She nods against my shoulder and we walk to her bathroom. I run the water while she zones out, arms hugging her stomach protectively. I step behind her, rubbing her shoulders and she lets out a relaxed sigh. I slide my hands down to caress her stomach and she leans against my chest. I kiss her cheek and she places her hands over mine. "I don't have a spare room," she says quietly in a distant tone."I do. I have two guest rooms. If you do get pregnant we could make one a nursery," I say softly, kissing her temple and turning off the water. We climb in the tub and she sits against my front. She replaces my hands on her stomach and I say, "Whatever you decide, I'm with you.""Time will tell," she says softly and kisses my cheek. "Let's not think about it right now, please?""I can't smell your perfume in my pillows anymore, it was helping me fall asleep. The nightmares weren't too bad the first two nights because I could still smell your lingering perfume," I choke quietly. "I really missed how you traced over my scar until I fell asleep, how safe I felt with you laying in my arms and how relieved I was able to sleep without a single nightmare.""I missed you too," she chokes quietly. "Your scent is gone from your shirt and I miss it. I've been wanting to call you, but didn't want to disturb you if you'd been able to sleep. I was about to call you tonight, but you called first."We both laugh through our tears. "Let's alternate between each others places for a while and if I do end up pregnant I'll move in with you," she says and turns her head back towards me and I kiss her as my response. "We can also leave clothes at each other's house until we decide to move in together.""I love the idea. I brought some clothes and a work uniform. I have a shift at eight in the morning," I say in a tired whisper. "We should get you to bed so you can get some sleep," she says softly, standing up to climb out of the tub.She slips, but I was quick to catch her. She grabs hold of my upper arms, our faces close together and her breaths hitch. Her lips brush mine and her breaths grew heavy. "I'll text my captain, I toured with his daughter. He knows about my troubles with sleep. I'd rather be with you," I whisper against her lips. She nods, pressing her lips against mine in a slow passionate kiss. "I can't get enough of you," she whispers against my lips. "Shawn, I-I'm in love with you."AbbigailI just confessed that I'm in love with Shawn and I wish I could see her reaction because she hasn't responded and a few minutes have passed and we were in my room getting dressed. I couldn't take it anymore and reach to feel where she is so I could feel her face. When I find her, she was sitting on the floor by my dresser. I sit next to her and feel for her face. Fresh tears fell down her cheeks and I was confused why she was crying. I wipe her eyes and she leans her cheek into my hand."I'm in love with you too," she chokes in a whisper. She takes in a shaky breath and says, "The reason no one was picking up when I called them tonight is because they were at the hospital. My grandmother passed away after a massive heart attack.""Oh, baby I'm so sorry," I say in sympathy, taking her in my arms. "I thought I scared you off."That earned me a light giggle from her, but she was right back to crying. I get us moved to the bed and have her lay on my chest so I can run my fingers through her hair. It wasn't long before I heard her even breaths that I knew she was asleep. My phone was ringing, but I didn't know who it was. All my contacts have their own ringtone. The person calling me had my default ringtone. Thinking it could be Shawn's family looking for her after she just told me about her grandmother passing, I answer it. "Hello," I say quietly to not wake Shawn."Abbigail," her sister, Annie asks in a choked whisper. "We're at Shawn's. Is she with you?""I just got her to sleep. She knows about your grandmother, but that was after she came over because she couldn't sleep with the nightmares.""Thank God," she chokes with relief. "She was really close with our grandmother."I give her my address and tell her my spare house key was in a frog's mouth outside the door. I continue playing my fingers in Shawn's hair and soon I can hear two people enter my bedroom."Annie," I ask quietly. "Yes and our mother. Dad is waiting in the living room," she says in a choked whisper. "We already got a hold of her captain.""I don't have a spare room, but you're welcome to my pull out couch. My chair reclines into a bed too. It's where my family sleep when they stay the night," I offer quietly. "It's late and you're welcome to sleep here.""Thank you," Mrs. Andersen chokes quietly. "Please, call me Joyce.""Can I talk to you again, in private?"I needed someone in her family I know I can trust to talk about what happened tonight. I hear someone leave and my door close. Joyce's familiar perfume fills my nose as she sits down next to me. I took a deep breath and let it out. "There's a chance I could end up pregnant. She needed a distraction from the nightmares and our condom broke," I choke quietly. "We already talked about it, but I really needed to tell someone else I trust and keep it secret until we know for sure.""Are you going to keep it if you do end up pregnant," she asks in a choked whisper taking my hand."At first I wasn't sure, but now I am. I want to keep it. Shawn already said she was with me, whatever I decided. The way she comfort me helped me decide," I choke with a smile. "I'll help you in the upcoming weeks, monitor for any signs of pregnancy. When was your last cycle," she asks softly and sounded distracted. "I'm due to get it next week," I say quietly and run my free hand in Shawn's hair. "She looks peaceful," Joyce says in a soothing whisper. "She really didn't want to bother you with her nightmares.""I told her tonight she could. I honestly haven't been able to sleep since I met her. She's all I can think about," I say quietly, nuzzling my face in her hair, breathing in her lingering scent of vanilla and lavender. "I love this smell, it's so soothing and relaxing."I feel a kiss on my forehead as I start to fall asleep with my face burrowed in Shawn's hair. I feel as she pulls me closer and wrap my arms around her. "Mom," Shawn asks in a sleepy tone. "What are you doing here?""Abbigail invited us," she says quietly as I stir closer to Shawn. "She was telling me about what happened tonight.""Will you help keep an eye on her while I'm working, please," she says quietly with concern. "She was a little upset when I told her about the condom breaking.""I told her I would," she says quietly, tucking hair from my face. "She's asleep." Waking up the next morning and I could feel Shawn still laying on my chest. Her even breaths told me she was asleep so I decide not to move and let her sleep. I hear someone enter the room and jump at Shawn's voice. "Five more minutes, Abbigail is still sleeping. ""She's awake now," Joyce says with a giggle. "You scared her, I don't think she realized you were awake."I feel as Shawn props up and gives me a kiss. "Did you sleep okay," I ask caressing her face. "Always, when it's with you," she says quietly giving me another kiss. "How do you feel this morning Abbigail," Joyce asks softly as I feel her sit next to me."Normal. How are you guys holding up considering last night?""Better now that we both have a distraction," Joyce chokes quietly, but I could hear the relief in her voice. "My mother was looking forward to meeting you this weekend. Shawn was going to ask you over for dinner today.""Can I come to the funeral? I'd like to pay my respect for not getting the chance to meet her," I say in sympathy and I feel as Shawn pulls me into a tight embrace. "We'd love if you came," Joyce chokes with relief. Shawn brings her hand to caress my stomach and sweeps her thumb. I place my hand on hers and give her a kiss. "I asked your mom to help keep this a secret until we know for sure," I say softly and press my forehead to hers. "I told her last night that if I do end up pregnant, I want to keep the baby."I bring my hands to her face to feel her reaction and felt as a big smile spread across her lips. I feel her mother take us both in a hug and felt relieved to know I was supported with my decision. "Come, breakfast should be ready," Joyce says kissing my cheek. "I need to make sure you're healthy for my potential grandchild."ShawnSix weeks have passed since my grandmother passed away and I possibly knocked up Abbigail. She hasn't really shown any signs but she still hasn't gotten her period. She made an appointment with her obgyn and I was going to go with her. She'd already explained to her doctor about my condition and that it's possibly my baby she's pregnant with. I was on the phone with my mom, sitting at a light and letting her know I was on my way to pick up Abbigail for her appointment. My light turned green and as I drive forward a car slams into my door, running their red light. My car spun into the car sitting at the light and my mother's voice echoed through my car. "Shawn, honey, can you hear me," she chokes, scared."I've been hit. My head hit the steering wheel hard and I can't feel my leg. I need to get to Abbigail," I say in a disoriented tone. "I need to see her, I need to know if she's having my baby.""Your father is calling an ambulance. Where are you?""I'm on Downs Street," I say
AbbigailA week passed since Shawn had her accident and finding out I'm pregnant. In that week our families helped move me into her place and Shawn is finally able to come home. Being that her lower leg had the double fracture, she was able to get a walking boot and a set of crutches to move about. She wasn't able to drive and even if she could she has no car. Her mother was picking us up and bringing us home. I've left the hospital long enough to shower but went right back to be with Shawn. I'm still getting used to the layout at my place with Shawn and didn't want to be alone. Before we could go home we had my first appointment for the baby. It's where we're headed now and I'll admit, I'm nervous. I was sitting in the back seat with Shawn and she took my hand in comfort. She brings my hand to her lips and I let out a calming breath. "I'm sure the baby is fine," she says in a soothing tone and I nod uncontrollably. She takes me in her arms and I breathe in her calming scent. "I'm w
AbbigailOur families were sitting in our living room, waiting for our dinner to finish. Our sisters were taking turns drawing on Shawn's cast. Our fathers were off in a corner talking about their common liking in sports and cars. Our mothers were in the kitchen and I was relaxing in my big chair.I was snuggling with my favorite teddy bear, trying to breathe passed the nausea. "Here sweetheart," Joyce says softly, placing a cup of tea in my hands. "It's an herbal tea, to help with the nausea.""You're too good to me," I say in a wavering whisper and she laughs. I take a sip of the warm liquid and and feel the nausea die down. "Thank you.""You're welcome," she says softly and sits next to me in my chair with my legs in her lap. "Shawn is sleeping. I think the pain killers are finally kicking in.""Good, let her sleep," I say quietly. "I know she's worried about me. I may not be able to see, but I can hear it in her voice.""She loves you Abbigail," Joyce says softly as I sip more tea
AbbigailAfter getting Shawn calmed down and back to sleep I had my father recline the chair. I asked to have my breakfast in here next to her incase she woke up freaking out. Joyce brought me yogurt with fruit and granola and it was very soothing with the nausea. I felt Shawn stretch out next to me with a waking yawn and offer some of my breakfast. She guides my hand holding the spoon to her mouth and I found it very intimate. My breaths grew heavy and I felt aroused. "Are you feeling okay," she asks softly, rubbing my stomach. "I feel aroused right now," I say in a breathy whisper. Her hand travels slowly towards my groin and my breaths hitch. I felt my underwear grow wet and my breaths quicken as her finger lightly rubs over my throbbing core. I hand her the bowl unable to hold it at the moment. I hear the bowl touch the end table and move to straddle her lap. Her hand slips inside my underwear and slowly slips a finger inside my throbbing pussy. I press my lips to her mouth to
AbbigailShawn just proposed to me and I accepted it. I could feel happiness threatening to pour out of me and I let it. Our family cheer at our engagement, distracting us from my aunt's passing. I heard my grandmother offer Shawn her engagement ring from my grandfather and tears roll down my cheeks. She slips the ring on my finger and gives me a kiss. I run my hands in her short hair and the kiss soon becomes extremely intimate. My breaths quicken and I have to stop before it gets out of hand. I press my forehead to hers, breaths ragged and hold her hands off me or I'll lose control. She brushes her lips against mine and I have to climb off her lap. I grab hold of the person closest to me and pull them with me out of the kitchen. Turns out that I had grabbed Annie. "Abbigail, you okay," she asks with concern, her hands caressing my face. "Too much has happened this week and I'm a little overwhelmed," I choke in a whisper and let out a shaky breath. "Can you take me for a drive? I n
ShawnIt's the day of the funeral for Abbigail's Aunt Carolyn. I was dressed in my ceremonial uniform from the Marines. I had my walking boot on and finishing up straightening my medals when Abbigail steps out of our closet. She was wearing a form fitted dress that showed off the small bump she was starting to form. She wore her hair in its usual manner and a pair of black flats to finish her outfit. I walk up to her and her hands roam, getting a feel of me in my uniform. Her hands reach my face and her sad eyes showed concern for me. "What's scaring you," she asks with concern. "That wearing this at your aunt's funeral is going to trigger my PTSD, but I want to wear this out of respect for your aunt's service in the Air Force," I say in a scared whisper. She gives me a sad smile and gives me a kiss. "I'll be right there next to you," she says softly, coming in my arms.My mother knocks on the doorway and asks, "Are you two ready to leave?"Abbigail and I nod in unison and follow he
ShawnAbbigail's soothing voice woke me from the darkness I had gone to while napping on her grandparents couch. My heart was pounding and my breaths were quick and shallow. My entire body was trembling beneath her straddling me with her hands caressing my face. I look around the room and notice that her family is watching with concern. She gently turns my head back towards her and I look in her blind eyes. Those eyes reflected love, safety and compassion. "I'm right here," she says in a soothing voice, letting her thumbs sweep my cheeks. "Breathe with me Shawn.""The baby, where's the baby," I choke in a sobbed whisper. "She's okay, it's you I'm worried about.""I can feel it again and it hurts," I choke as tears roll down my cheeks. "Feel what Shawn,"she asks softly, wiping my eyes. "The bullets, I can feel them piercing my skin and it never ends. It's like its on loop, getting shot over and over again," I sob in a whisper. She slips her hand up my shirt and traces over the scar
ShawnTwo months have passed. In those two months Beth has moved in, helping Abbigail with the pregnancy. Also in these past two months, Abbigail has formed a noticeable bump and no longer suffers from nausea or dizziness. Last week I had my cast removed and today I was able to return to work. I enter the kitchen, wearing my uniform with a bulletproof vest under my shirt. Beth was cooking breakfast and Abbigail was picking grapes from the fruit bowl. I give them both a kiss and Abbigail feels for my vest. She sighs in relief when she feels it. Tears fill her eyes and she asks in a choked whisper, "You wore it?""Of course I did, I promised you I would," I say in a soothing tone and give her a kiss on her forehead. "I'd do anything for either of you, you just need to ask.""Can you come home safe, especially when you're in this uniform," Abbigail asks in a choked whisper. "I promise to try my best," I say softly and give her a kiss. "Can you bring home a pregnancy test," Beth asks in
AbbigailI woke to Beth and Joyce's perfume. Melanie was still asleep, snuggled up at my back. Joyce kisses my forehead and gives my stomach a rub. I let out a relieved breath as their kicking calms down. "Sweetheart," Joyce asks with concern. "They've been kicking hard since we watched her shootout with Greg. I didn't get much sleep," I choke in a tired whisper. "Come here," Shawn says in a soothing whisper. Joyce helps me out of the hospital bed and Beth takes my place. I climb in on Shawn's left side and carefully lay on her chest. The moment her hand touches my stomach, the twins stop kicking and I let out a relaxed sigh. "Get some sleep," Shawn says in a soothing whisper as she rubs my stomach the best she could. "Don't overdo yourself," I choke in a sleepy whisper and hold her hand in place. "This is all I need." I wake to someone gently shaking my shoulder and look behind me at Jordan. She looked like she'd been crying all night. I look up and notice Shawn is sleeping. Jor
Shawn's POV Melanie and I installed cameras around the house. The police department has direct access to the feed, should there ever be an intruder while we're working, a car will be dispatched immediately. I'm not taking any risks of Greg showing up and harming anyone while I'm not there to protect them. It's been a few weeks and thankfully he hasn't tried anything. I came down for breakfast before work and Melanie wasn't in the kitchen. I look at Beth and she shrugs. She was swaying with Michael in her arms while warming a bottle to feed him. I look at Abbigail, she was eating her breakfast and shakes her head. I head back upstairs and find her sitting on the floor of her and Beth's bathroom. She had tears in her eyes, looking up at the sink. I spot a pregnancy test and take a look. It was positive and I sit next to her on the floor. She comes in my arms and lets out uncontrolled sobs. I rub her back in comfort and she lets out a calming
Hello fellow readers! I just wanted to announce that I have a second book coming out soon :). For those of you who have enjoyed Fated Love you're going to enjoy Soulmates. I would love to hear any feedback as long as it's not rude. I know I have typos and plan to fix them later. Soulmates so far has four chapters. I will be writing both books at the same time. I will do chapter for chapter, meaning I'll write a chapter for Fated Love and then one for Soulmates and so on and so on. Stay safe this summer. Happy reading!
Abbigail's POVShawn and Melanie have been gone over an hour and Joyce was looking for Shawn to do her grandmother's birthday cake. I explain to Joyce what was going on and offer to go check on them and let Shawn know Joyce was looking for her. When I reach our room, it was quiet inside.I quietly open the door and found them passed out in bed. I quietly close the door and head back down to the kitchen. Joyce looks up as I enter and tears fill her eyes when she didn't see Shawn with me."They're asleep," I say softly and she nods lightly. The tears in her eyes roll down her cheeks and says in a choked whisper, "I didn't know about my mother's condition until Shawn and Annie were born. I was ready to put Shawn up for adoption when my mother told me about it. It's also when she told me the truth about my other mother. She said that if I went through with the adoption she'd never speak to me again."I take her in my arms as she breaks into
Abbigail's POVTammy called me after Alexis passed out after her ultrasound. She said that Shawn went into a trance and wasn't responding to her voice. Melanie was there when Tammy told me what happened on speaker and her eyes fill with tears. All she had to say was "Iraq" and I knew Shawn was having a PTSD attack.I ask our sisters for a ride to the hospital and Melanie stayed with the others. When we got to the hospital a nurse brought me to the room where Shawn, Alexis and Tammy were. Alexis was still asleep in the examination chair and Shawn was sitting up against a wall with Tammy still trying to break her out of trance.I kneel the best I could in front of Shawn and caress her face in my hands. I meet her eyes and saw that she was ready to lose it. Something happened in Iraq that set her off when Alexis collapsed in Shawn's arms."Talk to me Shawn," I say in a soothing whisper and she meets my eyes, relieved I was there. "What happ
Abbigail's POVI was napping on the couch when I woke to a kiss on my forehead. Shawn was knelt on the floor in front of me with her hand caressing my stomach. I give her a tired smile and she gives me a kiss. I notice Jordan behind her with Aubrey and her mother Alexis, both of them looked scared and covered in bruises."We were on our way to the cemetery when Aubrey called Jordan. Greg was using his belt to whip them and he was severely drunk," Shawn says quietly and I could see a hint of anger in her eyes. "I offered them the guest room with the double beds for a while."She helps me sit up and I walk up to Alexis and Aubrey. One look in Alexis' eyes and tears fill my eyes. "How far are you," I ask in a choked whisper."You're pregnant," Shawn asks in a protective tone and I knew she was definitely angry now.Alexis nods vigorously and breaks into uncontrolled sobs. Surprise falls on Aubrey's face and I'm guessing she didn't know. "I
Abbigail's POVI woke up in the middle of the night to Shawn singing quietly, but she wasn't in the room. I climb out of bed and go looking for her. I follow her voice to Michael's room and she was gently rocking him back to sleep. Beth was asleep in the bay window, like she'd been sleeping with Michael.Melanie joins me in the hall, admiring both Shawn and Beth. She signals Shawn, who nods while continuing to sing to Michael. Melanie takes my hand and leads me to her and Beth's room. She helps me in their bed and motions for me to lay on her chest.I lay on her chest and she rubs my stomach. I let out a content sigh and she kisses the top of my head. "How are you feeling," she asks quietly."I'm okay, just woke up to her singing," I say in a yawn and snuggle closer to her."You just seemed like something was bothering you when I walked up to you in the hallway," she says with concern."Just picturing her singin
Shawn's POVI woke to Beth trying to take Michael from my chest. She holds her hands up apologetically and I wrap my arms around him as he whimpers from being disturbed. I quietly hum the lullaby I sing to Abbigail and he instantly goes back to sleep.Beth looks at me with surprise and kisses my forehead. "What time is it," I ask in a quiet whisper, rubbing my eyes."It's six o'clock in the morning. Abbigail is still sleeping and Michael slept all night. I thought he'd be up to feed by now," she whispers quietly and hands me a coffee. "I know who to ask to help him sleep if he gets fussy. He didn't really sleep much the other night.""Were you able to sleep last night," I ask quietly as I sip my coffee. She nods lightly, stroking Michael's patch of hair. He let's out a content sigh and nuzzles his face under my chin. His hands grasp at my shirt, holding onto me as if someone else tried to take him.I rub at his back gently as my
Shawn's POVAbbigail and I walk into Beth's hospital room the next day and she was in instant tears when she saw me. Melanie took the baby from her and I climb in next to her. I no longer felt pain when I moved, only if there was too much pressure on my side then I felt pain.I comfort her and Abbigail sat feeding Michael a bottle. "Am I hurting you," Beth asks in a choked whisper, afraid to lay against me.I wrap my arm around her and pull her closer to me. "I'm okay, it's my right side," I say in a soothing whisper and she lets out a calming breath."I wouldn't have let her leave the house if she was in critical pain," Abbigail says quietly.Abbigail's eye surgeon knocks on the door quietly and I meet him in the hall. "I was told you were here," he says softly and looks in at Abbigail. "Do you think she'd be willing to get the implants sooner? Your obgyn has been keeping me updated and mentioned that she was no longer expe
