Kyle's POV...
I slapped the pen in my hand so hard against the table it made my palm hurt. I don't know why I feel conflicted over my interaction with Aria. This decision was the best for us. I can't hurt Barrin. Also, there is no way I would stoop so low to be with someone with two wolf scents and mate at the same time.
It was best to let her be. However, why I feel sort of sad is unexplainable. I feel so heavy, and my hands felt lifeless. The door opened, letting Barrin in. He had a cute smile on his face. My entire body was back in active mode at the mere sight of him. This is why I am definitely not letting go of the one that makes me happy for anybody else.
"Hey, babe." He sniffed, kissing me hurriedly on the lips.
I searched his face, pulling him to sit on my legs. "What's wrong, babe? You don't seem like yourself."
Barrin shrugged, his usual way of dismissing whatever was running through his mind. "Ignore me; I guess
Aria's POV...My lashes flapped slowly, my entire body disinterested in training. I decided it was about time I got back to my feet and not let myself be swayed by the situation I was in. Coming out to train implies seeing Barrin, which I was undoubtedly ready for.To my surprise, every trainee had gathered, but the trainer was nowhere to be found. The most annoying of it all is every one of the trainees trying to show off everything they have learned. It would be nice if they all took a break without twisting an ankle. It would be fun to watch.Every now and then, my mind is filled with evil thoughts, and I can't seem to help it. It's the only way to keep me sane in this insane world where I have found myself. Sitting on the grass while resting on my arm, I huffed. Doing ten laps around the field isn't exactly as easy as it looked."You need company." A singsong voice mused next to me.I opened my eyes to meet a green-eyed
Aria's POV...Deciding this wasn't my kind of game, I stood up when he was just about four feet away. Ignoring Raven's call, I kept walking towards the packhouse. I have no interest in dealing with anyone at the moment. Only when he got closer did I remember why he had looked so familiar at first. He was the one from the garden the day Kyle rejected me. A coincidence. But I hate coincidences.Stopping for a moment, I felt that was enough of a back-off message for him to not come near me. Instead, I heard someone behind me."Did you do that to stay away from me?" He askedCounting my breath, I turned to look at him. I must say, he really is good-looking. Brown curly hair on an oblong face, with an almost impossible straight long nose, a small lip and the most beautiful grey eyes I have ever seen. Does it mean everyone around here are exceptional beauties? I should really up my beauty game at this point."Do I know you? And why woul
Kyle's POV...I can't really explain what it is, but I find myself reeling in extreme anger after Aria chose to walk out on me. She has grown a couple of wings in the little time we haven't seen each other. I hate how my heart keeps constricting at the thought of her talking to Devon like that.Is this how she feels whenever she sees me with Barrin? I tried to shake the thoughts out of my head, but the image of her being so close to my friend didn't sit well with me. What crazy Luna flirts around? No regard for her husband or the pack members.I am definitely not letting this slide; she has to know what her actions would bring to not just me but the entire pack. I can't have her get pregnant and be uncertain about who owns the child. Her body belongs to me, me alone. Even if she has two mates. Only I had her laid, and that is what matters the most.My legs found their way towards the route of her room before I paused again in my tracks. Shaking my head ha
Aria's POV...I laughed loudly at Raven's failed attempt to dance in a seductive manner. She really has an awful track of doing eye-sore dances. Would she stop? She never does, which makes it funnier. It's only been a week since I have known her, and it's been amazing ever since.Raven turns out to be really pure at heart. She and Ella clicked almost immediately. I liked that they got along well; it would make our friendship easier.I have no idea why we are out on the training ground one hour before training begins. Raven had been the first person to wake me up this morning, and really early at that.I yawned amidst my laughter, "Why are we out here in the cold, Raven? You still haven't told me why I have to get out of bed so early. Do you plan on killing me with cold?"She snorts, stretching her neck to look out for only the goddess knows what. I have no idea why she kept looking behind her; even while dancing, she kept doing it. I do
Aria's POV...When Ella sits quietly and uses her eyes to trail every of my movement rather than say something, I can tell there is something heavy on her mind. She hardly keeps to herself, especially for a talkative like her."Is there something you want to say to me?" I asked, looking through the closet for something nice and simple to wear. I don't want to end up passing the wrong message to Devon.Ella smacked her lips, "I really don't get it. Are you sure you are not being set up? Why would the Alpha's friend want to spend some time with you all of a sudden?"I scoffed, "Here I was, thinking my beauty was what attracted him to me. Do you have to be so logical in your thinking?"She chuckled, "I am not trying to be a party pooper, but if he is really interested in you. I guess we all have to get ready to watch some lengthy juicy drama between him and the Alpha."I raised a curious brow, "why should there be any form of drama? We are just
Aria's POV...I think my words were too harsh and caused Devon to be startled. His eyes darted around like they were seeking an escape. Probably I should have kept my big mouth shut."What do you mean by death awaits you, Aria?" He inquired.I sighed, looking up to the grey cloud, "Forget I said anything. My words must have startled you; I had no intention for that to happen.""No, no." He waved hurriedly, "I mean, was I shocked; yes. But that doesn't mean I don't want to hear it. That is if you are comfortable talking about it."Holding his gaze for a brief second, I sighed in resolve, bowing my head. "It's quite complex, but I will just briefly narrate it. I was raised by adoptive parents who had a daughter my age; they didn't treat me nicely. But I wanted to be nice to them and do whatever they wanted, which still doesn't seem enough. They decided to make me pay for all of their kindness, and they did a wolf swap between their daughter and me."
Kyle's POV...My eyes were red when she walked in, looking as sexy as hell. Different thoughts plagued my mind when I noticed she also had light makeup on. She has never shown up in front of me with makeup. What the hell is she trying to do?""I want to believe you are not deaf. Where the hell are you coming from?" I repeated in the loudest and most intimidating voice I could muster.I saw her hands shake as they held the doorknob before she closed it. Taking a minute, she stared up at me with that blank look that annoyed me so much. "I went out with a friend."I couldn't resist the cackle that escaped my lips. "You? A friend? Who the fuck is this friend that I know nothing about?"She folded her arms underneath her breast, pushing it up a bit. I wonder why that little act has a wild effect on my dick. "I didn't realize I was confined to a prison, and I need to let you know of my every move.""Are you always this stupid? Do you realize anyth
Aria's POV...A guardian angel must have blown me sleeping dust to get over the humiliation Kyle had brought upon me last night. Waking up to the thought of facing my nightmare on a new day makes me so scared for my life. Taking a deep breath, my mood lightened when I remembered my discussion with Dante about restoring my wolf.Yanking the duvet off, I rushed to the bathroom to get dressed for today's training. I cringed at the look on Raven's the moment I got on the training ground. I inhaled deeply, trying to get my thoughts together; one thing Raven majors at is reading body and facial reactions."Don't even think about going stiff on me." She yelled the moment I got to her. "you have a lot to tell me."I sighed in resolve, sitting next to her; my eyes instinctively went towards where Devon usually stood. He wasn't there yet."Missing him already?" She teased."Can you quit with your silly act?" I muttered, trying to keep my irritation at
