RIONA'S POV

Elara snapped her teeth at Kanesha, on the verge of going out of her way to put her in check. I tried to suppress her. I did for a few beats, and she snapped her head up again. This time, her eyes shone red.

I could've sworn, I saw Kanesha flinched. But she quickly regained her confidence. “How dare you reject the food I offered huh?” She spat, her words seething with disdain. “I bet you don't know what it cost me to get this to you in the first place!” Her face was bright red with rage.

The facial expression on her face didn't match her cold, low voice. She should be screaming at the top of her voice. My wolf became more conscious, her wolf abilities on alert to pick out the faintest form of anger.

My lips thinned with defiance. “Then eat it!” I tipped the food towards her, the ceramic bowl jiggled and tilted to the side, flipping half its contract on her leather boot.

Kanesha's nose flared. I looked up, narrowing my eyes to take in the intensity of the light from he

THERON'S POV Earlier that day… My nose flared at the mere sight of the man in front of me. His face, battered with red welts, and scars from my men. I leaned backwards into my chair, scrutinizing him from head to toe. Disgusted by his presence, my blood simmered with an urgent need to discard him. I pushed myself forward on my seat. “I'm gonna ask this one more time,” I paused. The entire room was dense with trepidation. His entire body shuddered with panic. Scratch my thoughts about being hasty in my judgement, I was gonna enjoy this. Nobody dared breach the borders of my pack. “Who sent you to spy against my pack?” His lips fell apart, like he was about to speak, but he couldn't make out one coherent word. My nose flared, a low growl rattled my chest. I stomped my hand against the armrest of the chair, then advanced towards him. He fell back, using his hands to shield himself. I grimaced, like that would save him from my wrath to start with. “I-I-I…” he stuttered, his voice t

RIONA'S POV My eyes fluttered open, and a flood of warm golden light flooded into my eyes. I clamped them back shut. Two beats passed, and I forced my eyes open. My head throbbed with a terrible headache, my gaze hovered around the strange white ceiling. I winced in pain, my gaze taking in everything around me. Elara was weirdly alert for the faintest sight of Kanesha. The brawl between us was a one off for what she had in mind for her. She wasn't gonna let Kanesha off her hook that easily. A gasp of surprise escaped the corner of my lips, when my gaze landed on a familiar bulky figure, with his back facing me. I struggled to sit up, resting my back against the bed frame. Theron seemed to pick on my consciousness. He turned to face me, the scowl on his face suited him in a way that made my toes curl with a dark sensation. “Hey!” His deep voice flitted over my skin, a wave of goosebumps prickled in its wake. Theron covered the distance between us, rounded my bed, and stood beside

THERON'S POV Vuk stirred inside of me, yearning and clamming to reach her, but I shut him off. I was not about to play the sympathetic cards with him. My eyebrows furrowed together with a deep frown etched on my face. “I need you to calm down.” The tone of my voice had come out cold and demeaning. Riona's eyes narrowed, like she was surprised, then her shoulders slouched in despair. Her lips fell apart like she was about to say a word, but she clamped it back shut. “The doctor said you'll be here for the next few days,” I paused with a grunt. “Hopefully, you're fully strong enough to get back on your feet.” She groaned. “But I am strong enough, Theron. Trust me—” I scoffed. “You're not a doctor!” My voice was calm with an assertive undertone. For some reason, my statement pricked a delicate emotion in her, because her lips twisted in a frown. “Oh now, you want to tell me what to do with my own body?” She said in a retort. Emotion tangled in my chest. For someone who's been unc

THERON'S POV I pulled up in front of the porch that led to Gamma Darrell's house. A weird emotion tightened around my chest as I took in the features of the terrace house. It's been a while I came here. Since I took over as the pack Alpha. I wasn't expecting to feel a surge of exhilaration. But the distant feeling associated with my childhood held deep sentiments that were a bit foreign to me. Vuk stirred inside me, ‘C’mon man. You don't have to show the world your weakness and you know this,’ My shoulders bunched at his statement. Darell was the only family I had…the only I knew. After the drastic situation with my father, which made me banish my mother from the pack.Anger settled in the deepest part of my bones. I hated—no, loath to ponder on the ugly incident, time and time again. It didn't go well that I sulked over something that shallow. Vuk grunted, clearly not sharing the same thought with me. Albeit, he didn't utter a single word. I tightened my fist around the steering

THERON'S POV The next couple of days went by in a blur. Riona wasn't recuperating like I'd expected her. Her injuries were still vivid, and the only thing I'd come close to doing, was suppressing her heat period. Vuk snickered. ‘How long do you think the portion would restrict her for?’ The tone of his voice was a tease. My jaw clenched. ‘Vuk. I'm not in the mood for this, not today…’ I dismissed his assertion, before I pushed the door leading to her room open.My gaze landed on the bed first, and a jolt passed through my heart when her scent wafted into my nose. I stepped further into the room, and there she was curled on the sofa. I cleared my throat, and she tipped her head sideways to face me. “I’m here with your medicine,” My tone was neutral. Riona pushed herself up from the chair, her steps were slightly staggered. She rounded the sofa and covered the distance between us. I stretched my arms and handed the medicine to her. Her face squeezed into a tight frown when she bro

  • Fated To The Ruthless Alpha    BACKGROUND ENEMY

Riona’s POV My heart pulsated violently against my ribcage. How’d he come to find out in the first place? Elara stirred with apprehension. This was a delicate situation for the both of us. Yet, the ease with how he spoke the words soothed a delicate part of my insides, I didn’t know needed it. An impish smile curled the corner of his lips, before it withered. “Riona, you let your pack members talk them on you, in your identity even though you were innocent—”I cut him off with a cough. This was like the elephant in the room I was trying to avoid. First, he knew about Elara. And now, he was probing me about my pack? A nightmare I’d rather not speak about? Fragments of memories from my childhood flashed before me, squeezing out oxygen from my lungs. “Why didn’t you ever fight for her?” He quipped, his voice unusually gentle. From the way he tilted his head slightly, I could instantly tell he was talking about Elara. A lump gathered around my throat. I swallowed to push it down, but

  • Fated To The Ruthless Alpha    SMALL FIELD OF ROSES

RIONA'S POV I braided my fingers through my hair, unsure of the best response to give. The incident happened a few years back, and I was the only one at the scene. “I don't think so,” “I know so,” Theron said, his voice low and throaty. He rested his weight against the cushion opposite me, “Hurting Luna Stacy isn't something you'd do,” I shrugged weakly. “Well, my entire pack thinks I'm responsible—” “I'm not a part of your pack, and I really don't want to be a part,” he paused, holding my gaze, “I believe you,” My head pounded violently. Alpha Theron's words spun around my head, and rested on my skin. Leaving a wave of goosebumps in its wake. He groaned. “I’ll be in my quarters, you still need to rest for a few days,” I nodded. I lifted his chin, and his smoldering look melted a delicate nerve in my heart. I racked my head for the right emotion, but it was foreign, nothing like I've ever felt. I watched his intimidating physique disappear behind the thick oak door. Elara clam

  • Fated To The Ruthless Alpha    MARK HER!

THERON'S POV Riona's face flushed bright red as I dressed the wounds. She groaned at the slightest brush of my hands over her skin. Her eyes dilated, and I could feel her gaze on me, when I wasn't watching. Still, her scent scrambled with my train of thoughts. It took me every bit of willpower to keep my focus in place. From the way she curled, and uncurled her fist, I could instantly tell Riona was on the verge of having a fever. Her palms were ice cold, and sleek with sweat. She drew in deep breaths, and let them out in a ragged motion. The nape of her neck, pale white and delicate. As if it was beckoning to me to dig my fangs against it. I swallowed past the bile that gathered around my throat, focusing my gaze on her wounds. Guilt stabbed me with jagged blades. All the while, Riona had been subjected to severe treatment. Heck! I was a total asshole to her. Vuk gnashed its teeth at me, resurfacing. ‘Theron! For crying out loud! Do I need to spell everything out for you?’ He s

ALPHA THERON'S POV I spent the next couple of days shuffling between pack duties, and keeping things in place. Vuk was even more disgruntled by my refusal to consummate the bond with our mate. “Fire!” One of the warriors screamed out the order to the rest of the warriors. The sun had just appeared from the dark clouds indicating the start of a new day— which meant training. There was no trusting anyone else. Especially when it had to do with my pack subordinates. Heck! Even the warriors at the pack might flaunt my rules in my absence. So, the only right thing to do was doubling the security around the pack house. It was the powerhouse of the Silverfang. My jaw clenched in disgust when one of the warriors hit Gamma Vincent to the ground. Vuk hissed in response. Embarrassing. My nerves tightened with animosity. “What the hell are you doing huh?” I sneered. “Do I smell incompetence with my Gamma?” I demanded in a husky voice. Gamma Vincent struggled up to his feet. I narrowed my e

THERON'S POV This second, I get lost in the swing of emotions. In a swing of an eye, I snap out and irritation prickles through my veins. Ugh! I hated dealing with weird intense emotions. They killed me, ripped me apart. It was already enough that Vuk struggled to dig his fangs into her skin and mark her his, each time we set eyes on her. I took the left staircase, and headed to my chambers. I had a brief meeting with the pack elders. I hated meetings. And it got worse since they started questioning my capability as an Alpha. Who the hell do they think they are! Riona's Alpha instincts were way stronger than I could imagine. There was more to her than she knew. She was the broad canvas with her pieces scattered all over the place. One piece held a different story from another piece. I was going to— “Theron!” A sultry feminine voice cut through my train of thoughts, and a low growl erupted from the corner of my lips. I stopped abruptly in my tracks, and turned to the direction o

  • Fated To The Ruthless Alpha    EASIER

RIONA'S POV I relished in the ecstasy of the moment, as I took in the sight before me. I'd seen the sunrise— from a good distance of course. Capturing it this close. My arms brushed against his sharp shoulder blade. I tightened my grip around the rails, taking in the crisp fresh air. “It’s really beautiful,” the words fell out of my mouth before I could think it through. Still, the pangs of regret I thought would linger weren't there, not even slightly. Silence rented the air around us. Still, I could practically taste the serenity that dug in the crevices of the silence. “Exceedingly perfect,” he said in that familiar husky tone that left a trail of tingles in its wake. Elara reared her head sideways, her body rippling with an intense urge to rub her fur against his. It was one thing to know my mate. Yet another to consummate the bond between us. Another round of silence pressed in around us. I had so much to say. Since I thought they were baseless, I clamped my mouth shut and w

  • Fated To The Ruthless Alpha    CRACKLING WITH TENSION

RIONA'S POV My identity still remained a mystery. Also the mate bond between I and Alpha Theron. Each passing day, the tension between us doubled, heck tripled. His presence lingered everywhere around me. I caught myself daydreaming about him— which I loathed with my entire existence. After all, I was enemy to him. The lips between my legs trickled with warmth at the sensuality of his scent. Elara was even more tense around him. Every minute, she struggled to keep her paws away from him. She yearned for his touch. Some nights while he bed, when he wrapped his arms around me, and pulled me closer to him. She whimpers in readiness for him to consummate the bond. As much as it was awkward for me to admit. Lately, I was starting to see Alpha Theron in another light. His pack members feared him. His judgement was brash. I hated him for acting like he didn't give a flip— more often than not, he didn't. But his eyes, the language it spoke was enough to tell me there was a barricade he b

  • Fated To The Ruthless Alpha    FRIENDS AT BAY

THERON'S POV The infiltration at the pack borders didn't subside. Good thing I had my men at alert every damn time. Some days were better than the others, and today was one of those days. I buried my head, immersed in the journal in front of me. Overtime, I'd come to the conclusion that there were so many loopholes, so many contours I had to figure out on my own. It wasn't just the circumstances behind her birth. There was more, so much more secret buried in deep crevices of uncertainty that couldn't be seen. At least, whoever made up this journal made sure of that. I flipped through each page, marking on some information I found interesting. I had so much on my plate. I had to filter out the unnecessary ones. Not like there were any issues around the pack that weren't important. Animosity from my pack elders wasn't something I'd break a sweat over. I claimed this pack, and even when I had the golden choice to execute them in my rage, I spared their lives. They owed me a whole

AMARA'S POV “This is the lobby which leads to the Alpha's territory,” one of the gamma said, as he pointed at an open space. I nodded, and didn't say a single word. It's been a few weeks since I came to the Silverfang pack. My injuries had healed completely. And, my wolf Elara was more than stable, strong even. Alpha Theron had lessen my home imprisonment. Now, I could take long walks through the pack. Whilst fighting Elara from coming to the surface. “We should go outside ma'am,” the man said in a polite tone. I gave him a wary smile. “Oh yeah. We totally should,” I paused. My heart heavy with unspoken words. He led the way, as we passed through Alpha Theron's chambers. I strained my ears, hoping to pick the strangest sound. But the thick aluminum door, muffled out the voice. I'd picked the scent of the Beta from my pack. My mind raced with a thousand questions. What does he want? Why was he here in the first place. My throat itched with an urgent need to query the warrior, bu

THERON'S POVI stomped to my car and drove off, my clutch, hard on the gas. Waves of embarrassment gilded through my veins, as I made my way back to the condo. Fuck all of these! I had another game to prepare for. After my team lost to Carlos school in the last game, I’d hated myself these past week. The incident that happened at the victim's ward made it worse.No. I wasn't mad that I had to pay one of the enforcers a visit. For what it's worth, she was injured while trying to protect the legacy of the school. My anger was directed to Roman. He lived life on his own terms and was selfish while at it. If he had a tinge of decency, perhaps we wouldn't have to go through this. The victim's guardian had all the right to decline our entry. I slowed down and brought the car to a halt in the garage, scrambled out when either of my brother's pulled up right behind me. Sparing whoever it was no glance, I made a beeline for the entrance of the door. I was going to be fine. My wolf was fumi

If you didn't give them your approval they wouldn't go ahead with it in the first place,” the veins in my hand budged with each word I spoke. He removed his glasses, and placed them on the hard glass table. “Rylan, the people of Oakville pack, can't trust their life and security in the hands of someone who is fleeting.” “I am not a fleeting Lycan King—”“Then quit your hockey career, and face something more reasonably for once. What has come over you?” He asked. “We went with the best option for our pack, deal with it.” I scoffed. “So I'm not good enough?” “You have to prove it.” His tone was emotionless.

THERON'S POV “Your father would send for you shortly,” one of the gammas said, the minute he sighted me a few blocks away from the King's in-house council chambers. It was a place where the King met with other pack Alphas, and even the pack elders. Before I left, I made sure the Chefs and the other gammas that attended to me, ensured Amara came down for lunch. Still, a foreboding prickled the nerves in my body. I gave him a nod, and stood by the side of the door. The man walked into the council chambers, and came out a few minutes later, “You can go in now, Sir. Sorry for the inconveniences.” He held the door open till I stepped into the room. “Look who came to grace our presence today,” A familiar masculine tone chipped, as I sauntered further into the room. My eyes hovered all over the room, and landed on Zain who had a tough time masking the scorn that threatened to break out on his features. It was a funny sight to behold. Still, I held myself together. I wasn't about to make
