Chapter Ten

Kael decided to visit Kieran’s house, not just for their business meeting but also to discuss matters concerning their pack. He knew Kieran wouldn't like being disturbed, but this was important.

While Kieran went upstairs, Kael made himself comfortable in the living room, turning on the television. He flipped through the channels, settling on a news broadcast when he heard footsteps approaching.

Rhea walked in, dressed in a simple yet elegant outfit. Her silver eyes held a hint of curiosity and hesitation.

“Good evening,” she greeted politely, her voice soft but clear.

Kael turned to her and smiled. “Good evening, Rhea. Why don’t you join me?”

She hesitated for a moment before sitting down on the couch, though she kept a noticeable distance from him.

“You don’t have to be so tense. I’m just a friend,” Kael assured her with a friendly chuckle.

Rhea gave a small nod, relaxing just a little.

“How’s it been, staying with Kieran?” he asked, tilting his head slig

Rhea took it from him, she knew it was a smart phone but the expensive one. "For communication and also, a girl will be here to help you with things you need and also your new job, okay." Kael said and Rhea nodded. "Good, we'll get going, give us a call if you need anything or just ask Anna." Kael said. "Okay, thank you." Chapter Twelve After a long day of shopping, Anna and Rhea returned home with their hands full of shopping bags. The two women laughed as they sorted through their purchases, admiring the clothes, shoes, and accessories they had picked out. It had been a fun and refreshing experience, one that Rhea hadn’t had in a long time. After unpacking, they both took nice, warm showers and changed into comfortable loungewear. The day had been exhausting, but it had also helped Rhea feel a little more normal. She wasn’t just a girl hiding in Kieran’s house anymore—she was starting to experience life again. Feeling a bit hungry, Rhea decided to prepare something for them to eat. She moved gracefully around the kitchen, her hands skilled as she chopped vegetables and seasoned the dish to perfection. The delicious aroma filled the house, making Anna’s stomach growl in anticipation. As soon as Rhea served the meal, Anna took a bite and let out a satisfied moan. “Mmm, this is amazing! You cook

Chapter Thirteen"What did you just say?" Kieran asked, his voice sharp and dangerous, the weight of his father’s words not fully settling in. "You heard me," Daren replied, his tone firm and unwavering. "I'm doing what’s best for this pack, and sooner or later, you'll come to accept it." "I am not getting married to her," Kieran stated flatly, his jaw tightening. "Do you think you can simply refuse?" Daren scoffed. "The Elders have already decided, and their decision is final. You will marry Diana because it is what’s best for the pack." Kieran let out a low, humorless chuckle, shaking his head. "I am the Alpha of this pack, not the Elders. I make the rules—they follow them. And right now, I am telling you that I am not marrying her. Unless you want her to live in misery and pain, then by all means, be my guest." His voice was eerily calm, yet filled with an underlying danger. The room’s atmosphere shifted instantly. A chilling aura radiated from him, making the servants st

Chapter FourteenSunday, 8:00 AMKieran was already dressed, his usual dark attire exuding authority and confidence. The morning sunlight streamed through the windows, casting long shadows in his room. The servants had just finished tidying up, making sure everything was in place before stepping out silently. A young maid knocked lightly before entering. She bowed her head respectfully. "Alpha, your presence is needed in the dining hall," she informed him in a soft voice before quickly exiting the room. Kieran ran a hand through his thick, dark hair before turning to Kael, who was stretching lazily on the couch. "Let’s get this over with," Kieran muttered as he strode out of the room. Kael followed with a grin. "Come on, at least pretend to be happy to see them." The two walked down the long corridors of the packhouse, the servants bowing as they passed. Upon reaching the dining hall, the scent of freshly prepared food filled the air. The table was adorned with an array of

Chapter FifteenSunday MorningAnna and Rhea had already woken up and finished their breakfast. Shortly after, Anna excused herself to make a phone call with Kael. Once she was done, she returned to Rhea and began teaching her everything she needed to know about being a personal assistant. "As you know, Kieran is a bit..." Anna paused, searching for the right words to describe him. "Cold and scary," Rhea interjected, finishing her sentence for her. Anna chuckled. "You could say that. But more than anything, he's a perfectionist. He likes things to be flawless. He hates lateness, dirt, incompetence, sluggishness... In summary, he despises anyone who isn't fit for the job." Rhea gulped. She had no idea what she was signing up for. "Don't be scared," Anna reassured her with a gentle smile. "I'm here for you. I'll teach you everything, and by tomorrow, he'll be glad to have you as his assistant." That didn't sound reassuring at all. "First, let's go over the basic duties of

Chapter SixteenKieran and Kael had finished their work in the Golden Pack. With all tasks completed, they packed their belongings, preparing to leave early the next morning. After dinner, Kieran decided to take a walk around the garden. The night air was cool, and the garden, with its peaceful surroundings, provided a rare moment of solitude. It was one of the few places where he could clear his mind. He sighed, his chest tightening with frustration. Even if no one else could feel it, his wolf was becoming restless, uncontrollable. The animal inside him clawed at his consciousness, threatening to break free. He knew that if he didn’t find a solution soon, he would lose himself completely. The thought unsettled him. He had considered taking a mate, even if only to ease his wolf’s turmoil. But no matter how many women he came across, his wolf rejected them all. Not one stirred his instincts or quieted the madness growing inside him. It made him wonder—why had the Moon Goddess g

Chapter SeventeenThe Next DayKieran and Kael left the Golden Pack early in the morning, traveling back to New York. By the time they arrived, it was already nine. Meanwhile, back at the mansion… 6:30 AMAnna and Rhea had woken up, taken their baths, and dressed for the day. After a quick breakfast, they were both ready for work. For Rhea, it was her first official day as Kieran’s personal assistant. Excitement bubbled in her chest, but nerves crept in as well. She had completed her training and knew what was expected of her, yet she couldn’t help but feel anxious. Anna noticed the way Rhea kept fidgeting, rubbing her palms together. She grabbed her hands, squeezing them gently. "Hey, it's okay to be nervous," Anna reassured her. "And remember, it's totally fine to make mistakes—it's your first day! Just take it one step at a time. I'm here if you need anything." Rhea gave a small, appreciative smile. "Thank you," she murmured. "Good! Now, let's get you looking flawless."

Chapter EighteenThe office was thick with an eerie silence, so heavy it felt suffocating. Rhea could hear her own heartbeat pounding in her ears as she watched Kieran go through her résumé. She wondered if he always tried to intimidate people with his dark, almost suffocating aura. The room was so quiet that if a pin dropped, it would echo. The silence was nerve-wracking, and just when she thought she couldn’t take it anymore, he finally placed her file back on his desk. Lifting his gaze, he met her eyes, making her shudder involuntarily. “Tell me, what are you doing here?” Kieran asked, his voice deep and unwavering. Rhea swallowed, her throat suddenly dry, but she forced herself to speak. She explained her purpose, detailing everything about why she was here and how she would serve as his assistant. She was quite impressed with herself for managing to keep her voice steady throughout. Kieran listened without interruption. His sharp eyes studied her as if he were peeling bac

Chapter Twenty-Five Rhea rushed to the restroom, her hands shaking as she gripped the sink. She stared at her reflection, her breath coming in shallow gasps. What the hell just happened? Her mind was still reeling from the encounter with Ethan. She pressed her lips together, taking deep breaths to calm herself. When she finally felt steady enough, she examined her face more closely. There, on her cheek, was a bright red bruise. Shit. The last thing she wanted was for Kieran to notice. The very thought of him seeing it and asking questions sent a wave of anxiety crashing over her. Rhea hesitated for a moment before pulling the scrunchie from her hair, letting the long strands fall forward to cover the mark. She ran her fingers through her hair a few times, making sure it concealed the bruise. Then she checked her phone. An hour had passed. Her eyes widened. Oh my God. I’m going to get fired. Heart pounding, she shoved her phone back into her pocket and hurried out of t

Chapter 24 As Ethan continued searching for the files, Rhea could feel his eyes on her. He wasn’t being subtle about it either. Every few moments, she caught him stealing glances at her, his gaze lingering far longer than she was comfortable with. A cold shiver ran down her spine, and she fought the urge to shift in her seat. "So, how’s life as Kieran’s new assistant?" Ethan suddenly asked, breaking the silence. "Good," Rhea replied shortly, keeping her tone neutral. Ethan chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "You know, it’s been almost a month since you started working for him, and I must say, things seem to be going smoothly. I’ve never seen him so patient with anyone before. Either you’re exceptionally good at your job, or…" He trailed off, a smirk forming on his lips. Rhea narrowed her eyes slightly. "Or what?" "Or there’s something else," he said, his gaze darkening. Rhea didn’t like the sound of that. She had no idea what he meant, but she decided not to push the

Chapter Twenty-Three "Oh, I told you she'd be good for the job," Kael said casually. Kieran simply nodded, not bothering to say much. Kael’s eyes landed on the empty plate on Kieran’s desk. "Did you make that?" he asked, a teasing smile forming. "Wow, finally, you're taking better care of your health." Kieran gave him a blank look before ending the call without another word. After finishing his food, he stood up, picking up his plate. As he walked to the kitchen, a sudden sharp pain shot through his head. It was unlike anything he had ever felt before—so intense that he had to grab onto the counter for support. A low groan escaped his lips as he clenched his jaw, his breathing uneven. The pain wasn't just in his head; it coursed through his entire body, like something inside him was shifting, changing against his will. Kieran forced himself to move, each step toward his room feeling heavier than the last. He shut the door behind him and stumbled toward the bathroom, grip

Chapter Twenty-Two Rhea was still in shock that Kieran had noticed Mr. John staring at her throughout the meeting. She had assumed he was too reserved to care about such things, but his last statement before they left had surprised her even more—he had taken her side. They walked in silence toward the elevator, standing side by side as they waited. Rhea occasionally stole glances at Kieran, who stood with his back resting against the glass, his head leaning backward, eyes closed. His sharp jawline and flawless skin made him look effortlessly handsome. Even his side profile was breathtaking. Rhea quickly looked away, afraid that he would catch her staring. Once the elevator reached the ground floor, they stepped out and walked toward the car waiting outside. Kieran slid into the backseat, resting his elbow on the armrest while his other hand propped up his head against the window. His eyes remained closed, and for a moment, Rhea wondered whether he had fallen asleep from exhaus

Chapter Twenty-One:Rhea woke up early, quickly got dressed, and ate before heading out. She already knew the company's address, so she took a cab without hesitation. Upon arriving at the company, she walked straight to her office. She had arranged it the previous day, so it was still neat and organized. However, remembering the second rule—that Kieran hated dust—she knew she had to check his office as well. She called in the cleaner to dust the room thoroughly before she began arranging files, straightening his desk, and wiping down the shelves. As she carefully adjusted the books, a picture frame fell to the floor. "Hmm?" Rhea muttered as she bent down to pick it up. It was a photo of a woman, possibly in her late twenties. She had delicate features and a soft, confident smile. Rhea stared at the image, curiosity swirling in her mind. *His sister? Or maybe a past lover?* she wondered. *Well, at least now I know he’s not gay.* While she was still lost in thought, the door

Michelle said and they all laughed, after a while, they had finished eating, they all went back to work. After a whole day of work, it was currently 5:00pm, other staffs were already gone leaving behind the assistants and the CEOs. Anna arranged her desk, she sat down to do some last minute check up, when she was done she switched off her computer, arranged her bag and walked outside. Descending down the stairs was Kael and Anna."Well look who it is, the new assistant, Rhea how was your first day?" Kael's cheerful voice rang in her ears as he approached her. "Mr Kael, it was great." Rhea said smiling. "Mr Kael? That makes me feel old, I prefer Kael since we're familiar with each other, I don't care about office etiquettes." he whispered the last words, Rhea nodded. "Okay Kael." Rhea said. She let out a satisfied sigh, enjoying the brief moment of relaxation. "Sorry, you must be exhausted," Anna said sympathetically. "It's too early to be tired," Rhea replied, shaking her head. Surprisingly, she felt energized. The work, though tedious, was fulfilling. It was far better than sitting at home, feeling useless. Though she missed the comfort of the house, she had chosen this path, and she wasn’t going to complain now. "Well, it's lunchtime. Let’s explore the company’s cafeteria," Anna suggested, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "Wait, don’t I need permission to leave the office?" Rhea asked hesitantly.
