Chapter Seventy Four - Awake

I woke up feeling my body energized, I felt my throat drying out and was craving for water. How long has it been since I drank a glass?

Where am I? I roamed my eyes around and saw my room. Numerous people were lying on the ground and the couch.

The memories of what happened to me invaded my mind and made me want to cry and hide somewhere from everyone.

“Sarina?” I heard Ali calling, which forced me to look at the left side, and saw her approaching me with tears forming at the side of her eyes.

“After a week, you finally gained consciousness.” She shakingly held onto my hands, “We were sorry about what happened.”

“We failed to almost protect you. What if something worse happen to you?” Ali sniffed while rubbing her eyes.

“What happened? I don’t remember that much because I lost consciousness right after Paul beat me up and…did he…” I bit my lower lip.

Ali shook her head before squeezing my hands tightly, “No, you were safe, they arrived just in time to save you.”
