Chapter 59: The Power of the Moon

Alden and Asher rushed back into the cave, holding Asher over their shoulders.

"Quick, lay him on the bed." Freya instructed and knelt beside the bed.

Diana stayed back, watching as Freya began to chant strange spells.

"Why isn't he healing?" She asked, tears falling freely from her eyes.

"I think it's because of you Diana." Freya answered over her shoulder.

"No." She whispered, covering her mouth with her palms.

"Don't make it sound like she's at fault." Axel snapped and pulled Diana into his arms.

"I never said it is her fault." Freya said. "He's not healing because he was wounded by her. That doesn't mean she's the cause."

"Just try to heal him." Alden snapped next and turned away from the sorceress. He gently wiped Diana's tears and smiled at her. "Stop crying. Asher will be okay."

"But I know I hurt him." Diana whispered. "I... I don't know why I lost control... Why didn't I recognize him?"

"I'll explain later," Alden told her. "Let Freya heal him. Asher will be fine, okay?"
