Chapter Seventy-Six

Prince Murray's POV

"What's the news, Stam? What do we do from here?" I asked Stam who just returned from scanning through the Stronghold Pack on my behalf.

After the incident with my brother and his wife, I ran as fast as I could, out of the Pack but I knew so well that I could never have gone far enough before the guards would be onto me.

So, I decided to run into one of the caves just outside the Pack amidst a very bushy area so that I could get the hell out of that place whenever the time came. It was a place that no one loved to be, especially because it was almost always raided by the Rogues. No one loved a confrontation with those headless beings, except someone like me who had them loyal to me.

It was the third day already and for the past two days, I kept noticing movements outside the Pack; proof that they were going all out to find me and I didn't intend to be found.

"The coast is clear but I think we need to wait a bit more just to be sure befo

Chapter Seventy-Seven Elsa's POV "I'll be right back. Give me a minute," Alpha Davon said as he stepped out of his room to meet with one of his guards who had come to tell him something. Ever since the incident happened with Murray and Alina, Alpha Davon has been very helpful to me. It had been three long days and I spent most of them by his side. Although he was sad, just like I was, he always looked out for me, making sure that I didn't drown myself in tears each time, especially since that was pretty much what I felt like doing each time I was alone. Life was cruel to me. I couldn't understand why it had to be that way. Just when I thought that I was about to get a bit of happiness for once in my entire life, another tragedy happened and I was back where I began. "It's all going to be alright," Wolf whispered to me as I slowly began to let myself go once again. The tears began to build up and I knew it was only a matter of time before I'd let them flow. "I'm sorry that I

Chapter Seventy-Eight Alina's POV "Is this what my life has become?" I cried as I sat on the floor with my hands and legs chained. If I was ever told that I'd find myself in such a position while I was going to this Pack, I'd have never believed it. I'd have sworn with everything in me that the person was being deluded. Yet, there I was, locked up in a dungeon, like a common criminal. "It's my fault. I did this to myself," I kept repeating to myself, hitting the floor with my palms over and over in anguish. Yet, I felt like I should have been treated better. I was the Luna Queen of the Pack and I deserved more than what I got. For three days, I barely saw anyone. Only the guards that brought miserly food for me which was only fit for dogs. Of course, I rejected it and cursed them until they left the place. Fools. How lowly they must have thought of me to imagine that I was going to fall for that because I was hungry. But I was hungry and thirsty too. By the time they had go

Chapter Seventy-Nine Elsa's POV One Month Later "I can see that things have gone up between you and Alpha Davon, Elsa. Would you mind telling me what's going on?" Aby asked in her usual chatty manner. "I mean, I know what's going on. I can see it even if I can't prove anything because my words don't hold much water. I just want to hear it from your lips Elsa, what is going on? Are you both hooked?" I shook my head, ignoring her as I folded my clothes and packed them in my bag. Aby was always too inquisitive for my liking and sometimes I wondered if she was ever going to stop. I got my answer each time. She never stopped. She just kept going on and on until she'd get what she'd get whatever it was that she wanted. Such was her perseverance. "If nothing was going on between you both, then what exactly are you still doing in the Pack?" She giggled. "You were here as a servant and then you were supposed to marry the Prince. Now that the Prince isn't here and the marriage plans have

Let the sweet scent of the beautiful flowers all around delight you," Aby sang as she and two other maids gently scrubbed my body with soft sponges in their hands while I relaxed in the tub. It was the day of my wedding and as was the custom, I wasn't allowed to have my bath myself. Maids were assigned to do just that and I made sure that Aby was part of them. Of course, she had to. She was the girl I trusted the most. "You're finally going to be the Luna Queen of the almighty Stronghold Pack, Elsa. Can you believe it?" She laughed. "Look how far you've come already, my love. Against all odds, you made it. The Moon Goddess has finally decided that the time has come for her to smile at you." I doubted that greatly despite all the proof in front of me. I had finally risen from nothing to the pinnacle. As the Luna Queen of the Stronghold Pack, there was barely anythin

Chapter Eighty-One Alpha Davon's POV "Who dares try to ruin my wedding?" I asked the guard by my side as we made our way to the Pack borders. I signalled to four other guards to join us and they followed closely behind. "There are others still stationed at the borders, Alpha," I was informed by a guard. "We left them there to keep watch while we came to call you as soon as we could." "Very good." We walked as quickly as we could and I felt a few people noticed that something was wrong. So, I put a smile on my face and waved at them as the maids brought food for the people to eat. "Eat, drink, male merry guys!" I screamed. "I'll be back in no time." That seemed to get them to calm down as they promptly grabbed drinks from the maids and drank as they pleased while I continued my walk to the borders, hoping to get there as soon as I could. I hoped in my heart that there was no cause for alarm; that the men were wrong and there were no invaders. Yet, I couldn't rule out that they m

Chapter Eighty-Two Alpha Davon's POV "Alpha, we've looked around for the Queen but she's nowhere to be found," one of the guards revealed to me as they walked into my room. After I met with a few elders earlier that day, I headed straight to my room with the hope that Elsa was already there waiting for me but she wasn't. So I thought she might have thought that I'd take a bit longer. That thought was made even stronger when I saw Abigail head to my room with some of Elsa's things. I felt she was just about to show up and she said so herself. She told me that she'd just inform her to come over but that was the last that I heard from her. I stood from my bed with fury in my eyes, unable to comprehend what was going on. "Are you sure you looked well?" I asked, walking to the guard who had broken the news and standing right in front of him. "Did you check her room? How on Earth is she not here?" He nodded and I pushed him aside and walked out of my room, heading straight to her ro

Chapter Eighty-Three Alpha Davon's POV As soon as we arrived at the Runway Pack the next morning, I quickly alighted from the carriage and began to make my way to the throne room which wasn't far away from where we stopped. I'd have simply asked the driver to stop right in front of the throne room but for some reason, I didn't want that. I just wanted to take a stroll to the place so that I could keep my temper in check, especially since I strongly believed that Alina had a hand in her abduction. My guards followed me behind very closely as I moved and even though I needed them to give me a bit of space, I just let them come with me. We got to the door and I gestured to them to remain outside. Then I knocked on the door and two guards opened the door to see who it was. "Oh. Greetings, Alpha Davon," they gasped, clearly surprised to see me. I didn't inform them that I was going to their Pack so they were right to be shocked. They moved away from the door and I walked inside wi

Chapter Eighty-Four Elsa's POV "Ouch!" I felt a sharp pain in my back as I slowly opened my eyes. I tried to touch it but I realised that my hands were tied up. I waited a bit for my vision which was quite hazy to clear up. Then I turned around to see my surroundings. I was in a very bushy area that had a few trees here and there but I didn't know how I got there. It wasn't just my hands that were tied up. My feet too. I couldn't even stand. Slowly, I began to recall what happened the previous night, if indeed it was the previous night as I didn't know how long I was out. The hunger that I felt seemed to suggest something different. I'd stayed a whole day without having anything to eat, but I didn't feel as hungry as I felt at that moment. So I naturally suspected that I was out for a longer period. I remembered that I was on my way to Alpha Davon's room when I felt a hand grab me from behind and place material on my nose. That must have been how I passed out. They must have p

"Why won't you let me fulfil my destiny? You know that you can't beat me, right?""You think so?" I raised my right brow."I didn't think that you'd be here, Elsa. I felt you'd be inside with your child in your belly or your arms," he explained. "I have not stopped loving you and I'd hate to kill you. Without me, you'd have been nothing," he reminded me. "Now, I didn't teach you everything I know. Just the ones I felt you should. I'll teach you now. I'll make you learn by experience. "Did you just say, 'He?'" I asked, as it suddenly struck me that she was referring to my child as a boy."Yes, my Queen. It's a baby boy and he looks so handsome," she gushed."Oh. Here he is," she said as one of the maids walked to my bed with my child in her hands.I managed to sit up with my back pressed against the wall for support and the maid handed my baby over to me. He was beautiful; so beautiful that I felt a few tears drop from my eyes as I stared at him. He had blue eyes, just like his father and he took my hair. My boy was a blondie. I bent and kissed him on the forehead, very happy to have him.

Chapter Hundred And SixMurray's POV"Hold," I screamed at my men as we got very close to the borders of the Stronghold Pack. I had sent three of our men to head over to the borders to find out what was going on and they were yet to return. So, I felt the need to hold on until they did, instead of rushing in blindly. I paused to look at the army that I had with me. I had managed to convince two other Rogue Kings to join us with their warriors in our quest to take Davon out. It wasn't that easy as they didn't trust me at first. Just like Alpha Grim, they thought that I had come to lead them to their demise and if Alpha Grim didn't intervene, they'd never have joined us. They weren't that large but with more than 15 carriages full of our combined warriors, I had no doubts that we were going to overwhelm them with ease. I also believed that the Rogues and I were the perfect match. I had trained the Rogues in my Pack for several months and I knew they were ready. But more than that, t

"I just ran here as soon as I saw their carriage approaching the borders.""Thank you."I stood, headed out of the throne room and began to make my way to the borders. I wanted to welcome Alpha Duncan myself. I felt it would mean a lot to him if I did that, and encourage his people to give their all in the fight.I was a few metres away from the Pack Square when I saw them approaching. They were massive; even more than I had expected them to be. I tried to count but stopped when I was at ten carriages, only because they had gotten to where I stood and came to a halt. So I had to give my attention to the Alpha King who was making his way out of his carriage to meet up with me. "Greetings,

Two other guards walked in with him and just stood beside the door as he approached me with the paper. "From whom?" I asked, stretching my hand to take the paper from him. "My apologies, my Alpha. Good morning, Sir," he greeted. The urgency of what he had seemed to have caused him to forget that he was to greet me once he saw me. The other guards with him also did the same. They all bowed and greeted as they ought.I just nodded curtly and went back to my question. "Where did you get this from?" I asked again. "It was delivered to us by a Rogue. He came to us with a white flag and when we asked him to approach us, he came to us and handed the paper over to us. He said it came from your brother…""It came from Murray?" One of the guards was there too. They all had their gazes fixed on me when I woke up and it felt so overwhelming. Slowly, I began to recall what had happened. I remembered how I was talking to Abigail close to the garden before I felt weak and my eyes got hazy. It became clear to me exactly what had happened to me…I had fallen to the ground, unconscious. That must have been why I found myself in my room with no knowledge of how I got there. What I couldn't tell was what caused me to lose consciousness in the first place. "What happened?" I asked, trying in vain to sit up. "You must relax, my Queen," Abigail said, seeing that I struggled to get up. "You don't need to exert yourself at the mo

For sure, it was nothing compared to the Runway Pack. The brown leaves on the floor left a lot to be desired. The flowers grew wildly, no one bothered to trim them, but as I walked past them with my mom by my side, those were the least of my problems. I wondered how Murray was going to take the loss of his dear Mandy. I had lied to the other guards that she was killed by one of the guards in the Runway Pack. The good thing was that I didn't pull out the knife that I used to kill her and it belonged to Ronnie. Nothing about her death pointed to me, except that I was supposedly with her when it happened. Well, I shut off those thoughts as we continued to make our way to the throne room. I wanted to know what it looked like. "It must be the size of a mushroom," I laughed in my mind.
