Chapter Seventy-Nine Elsa's POV One Month Later "I can see that things have gone up between you and Alpha Davon, Elsa. Would you mind telling me what's going on?" Aby asked in her usual chatty manner. "I mean, I know what's going on. I can see it even if I can't prove anything because my words don't hold much water. I just want to hear it from your lips Elsa, what is going on? Are you both hooked?" I shook my head, ignoring her as I folded my clothes and packed them in my bag. Aby was always too inquisitive for my liking and sometimes I wondered if she was ever going to stop. I got my answer each time. She never stopped. She just kept going on and on until she'd get what she'd get whatever it was that she wanted. Such was her perseverance. "If nothing was going on between you both, then what exactly are you still doing in the Pack?" She giggled. "You were here as a servant and then you were supposed to marry the Prince. Now that the Prince isn't here and the marriage plans have
Chapter Eighty Elsa's POV The Wedding Day "Take a deep breath, Elsa. Let the calmness of the water encapsulate you. Let the sweet scent of the beautiful flowers all around delight you," Aby sang as she and two other maids gently scrubbed my body with soft sponges in their hands while I relaxed in the tub. It was the day of my wedding and as was the custom, I wasn't allowed to have my bath myself. Maids were assigned to do just that and I made sure that Aby was part of them. Of course, she had to. She was the girl I trusted the most. "You're finally going to be the Luna Queen of the almighty Stronghold Pack, Elsa. Can you believe it?" She laughed. "Look how far you've come already, my love. Against all odds, you made it. The Moon Goddess has finally decided that the time has come for her to smile at you." I doubted that greatly despite all the proof in front of me. I had finally risen from nothing to the pinnacle. As the Luna Queen of the Stronghold Pack, there was barely anythin
Chapter Eighty-One Alpha Davon's POV "Who dares try to ruin my wedding?" I asked the guard by my side as we made our way to the Pack borders. I signalled to four other guards to join us and they followed closely behind. "There are others still stationed at the borders, Alpha," I was informed by a guard. "We left them there to keep watch while we came to call you as soon as we could." "Very good." We walked as quickly as we could and I felt a few people noticed that something was wrong. So, I put a smile on my face and waved at them as the maids brought food for the people to eat. "Eat, drink, male merry guys!" I screamed. "I'll be back in no time." That seemed to get them to calm down as they promptly grabbed drinks from the maids and drank as they pleased while I continued my walk to the borders, hoping to get there as soon as I could. I hoped in my heart that there was no cause for alarm; that the men were wrong and there were no invaders. Yet, I couldn't rule out that they m
Chapter Eighty-Two Alpha Davon's POV "Alpha, we've looked around for the Queen but she's nowhere to be found," one of the guards revealed to me as they walked into my room. After I met with a few elders earlier that day, I headed straight to my room with the hope that Elsa was already there waiting for me but she wasn't. So I thought she might have thought that I'd take a bit longer. That thought was made even stronger when I saw Abigail head to my room with some of Elsa's things. I felt she was just about to show up and she said so herself. She told me that she'd just inform her to come over but that was the last that I heard from her. I stood from my bed with fury in my eyes, unable to comprehend what was going on. "Are you sure you looked well?" I asked, walking to the guard who had broken the news and standing right in front of him. "Did you check her room? How on Earth is she not here?" He nodded and I pushed him aside and walked out of my room, heading straight to her ro
Chapter Eighty-Three Alpha Davon's POV As soon as we arrived at the Runway Pack the next morning, I quickly alighted from the carriage and began to make my way to the throne room which wasn't far away from where we stopped. I'd have simply asked the driver to stop right in front of the throne room but for some reason, I didn't want that. I just wanted to take a stroll to the place so that I could keep my temper in check, especially since I strongly believed that Alina had a hand in her abduction. My guards followed me behind very closely as I moved and even though I needed them to give me a bit of space, I just let them come with me. We got to the door and I gestured to them to remain outside. Then I knocked on the door and two guards opened the door to see who it was. "Oh. Greetings, Alpha Davon," they gasped, clearly surprised to see me. I didn't inform them that I was going to their Pack so they were right to be shocked. They moved away from the door and I walked inside wi
Chapter Eighty-Four Elsa's POV "Ouch!" I felt a sharp pain in my back as I slowly opened my eyes. I tried to touch it but I realised that my hands were tied up. I waited a bit for my vision which was quite hazy to clear up. Then I turned around to see my surroundings. I was in a very bushy area that had a few trees here and there but I didn't know how I got there. It wasn't just my hands that were tied up. My feet too. I couldn't even stand. Slowly, I began to recall what happened the previous night, if indeed it was the previous night as I didn't know how long I was out. The hunger that I felt seemed to suggest something different. I'd stayed a whole day without having anything to eat, but I didn't feel as hungry as I felt at that moment. So I naturally suspected that I was out for a longer period. I remembered that I was on my way to Alpha Davon's room when I felt a hand grab me from behind and place material on my nose. That must have been how I passed out. They must have p
Chapter Eighty-Five Elsa's POV "Would that be wise?" Jan turned around and asked his people. "Should we tell her?" They nodded with a shrug of the shoulder and he turned back around and smiled at me. "Today's your lucky day. You get to take all the information that you want from me, just before I take your life. That's a fair deal, isn't it?" I nodded, not because I wanted to die. I didn't. I just wanted to do anything to find out who it was that wanted me dead. I had my suspicions though but I didn't want to make any conclusions, especially since I was going to get the answers that I sought first-hand. As my dad would always say, there's no need to try to scratch a package which would still be opened soon. "What do you know about a certain lady called Princess Alina?" Jan asked, biting his lower lip. I clenched my teeth in anger. She had gotten one over me, just like she said that she would. She promised to deal with Alpha Davon and me. She had finally gotten her wish and I c
Chapter Eighty-Six Elsa's POV "What did you just say to me?" I asked, very surprised to hear those words come out of her mouth. "I am your mother Rachael. This is the truth," she affirmed, still holding onto my legs as she knelt before me. "No, please stay away from me," I moved away from her in a hurry knowing there was no way that could have been possible at all. It just couldn't be. "Don't come close to me, ma'am. Keep your distance. Whatever it is that you want to do with me, please don't," I put out my hand to keep her away from me. "Just let me go, please. I won't come back for any sort of revenge. I promise." She stood up and kept making her way to me, still sobbing. Her sobs were the only sounds that could be heard at that moment. Her heartbeat too. I could hear it very clearly. It was something that I had never been able to do before. "It cannot be that you are my mother. My mother is dead," I said to her, just in case she felt she could deceive me. "Please, don't li
