Chapter Twenty

Alina's POV

"You don't seem too happy, Princess. Is there a problem?"

Mandy stood in front of me, looking very concerned as the other maids stood by the door.

"It's Alpha Davon!" I yelled for no reason at all except that I was just so mad at him, even though he did make me happy too.

"What about him, ma'am?" She turned to the other maids and they all bowed their heads to me as they always did and left the room so we could talk.

"I went to his room earlier on after I encouraged him to put Elsa in her place, which he did, even if it wasn't exactly the way that I wanted it," I began to explain, urging her to pull up the chair beside her and sit. "We had great sex there; a kind of sex that I'd never had in my life. He was relentless and so was I. It was the best I've ever had in my life and I wished it was never going to come to an end."

"So, what is the problem then?" She asked, looking a tad confused.

"He didn't mark me, Mandy," I slowly sobbed. "I did all that I c

Chapter Twenty-OneElsa's POVI walked into the room so I could change what I had on. Since I was going to the Pack borders and probably beyond that if I had to, I felt it would be more befitting to wear a lighter dress, just in case there was a need to run away from anyone or anything. I didn't want to take any chances at all.I took off my dress and picked up a light, yellow dress, putting it on in a hurry. Mrs Rosa was already outside waiting for me to get done and be on my way. Throughout our walk back to the room, she kept telling me how important it was for me to be pretty fast, especially if I didn't want to get beaten up or anything of that sort.In a few minutes, I was done changing and I quickly walked out of the room and headed straight to the kitchen to grab a big bag where I was going to store the leaves. "Here," Abigail smiled at me, handing a black bag over to me. She knew that I was going to need it and so she saved me the stress of having to look for it, helping me g

Chapter Twenty-TwoElsa's POV"But I can still handle this," I said to him in a muffled tone, doing my best to sit up a bit so I could regain a little energy. "I can't let you face them all alone. Those rogues are very dangerous. Look what they've done to me. Just hold on a little."He held both hands of mine and shook his head. "Wait here," he instructed, keeping his face very straight. "I'll be right back. Stay here and recover. No one would see you here."He left my hands and walked away to find the rogues who had attacked us, while I watched him with sadness in my eyes, trying but failing to stand so I could join him. After a few minutes, I heard the sound of swords hitting each other and I could sense that the fight had gotten quite intense. I tried to get up one more time and I noticed that it was much easier that time. I took a look at my wound only to see that it had begun to heal quite quickly, just as I expected. It was something that I loved so much about myself. My wounds

Chapter Twenty-ThreeElsa's POV"Yeah. Sure, I'm ready," I said to him with a nod and we walked together into the throne room.I noticed that Prince Murray tried to grab my hands just before we walked in, probably as a way of showing me that he had my back but I didn't want that. I moved my hand away quickly feeling a slight touch. I was in no mood for more drama. As we walked inside, I saw that Alpha Davon was already on his throne. It w seemed he was discussing with Beta Raymond before he walked in but they immediately paused as soon as we got inside."Greetings, Alpha Davon," I bowed as our eyes met. Prince Murray greeted him too and walked past me to meet his brother as I stood alone at the centre of my room with the leaves in my right hand."I see that you've returned with the plants as instructed and I'm impressed," he said with a frown on his face. "Yet, I must say that you returned much later than we all had expected and the meal that was to be prepared today using these leave

Chapter Twenty-Four Elsa's POV The question took us unawares, especially since we were just a few steps away from the room. We froze for a few seconds and then turned to look at each other not knowing what to say to Mrs Rosa. "How on Earth did she find us there?" I asked myself, still staring at Aby. "You heard me, right? Cat got your tongues?" She asked again and this time we turned around to her knowing we had no choice but to answer her. As I opened my mouth to speak, Aby tapped my hand and cleared her throat instead. "Nothing, ma'am," she lied in a fidgety manner. "We were just talking about some random guy around the Pack who seems to have a liking for Elsa. You know how she is... beautiful and very respectful. So many guards would love such a woman and it's only ideal that a lot of men would want her. I just wanted to know if she's into her most recent admirer. She's never really into anyone. She loves to stay away from the boys but at some point, she'll need to get married

Chapter Twenty-FiveAlpha Davon's POVI had yet another meeting with the elders in a few minutes and I knew exactly what they were about to talk about. I didn't want any part of that as I felt it wasn't the time for it, even if I knew it was necessary. Everything that happened around me seemed to suggest that I was right to stall for a bit.I recalled what happened between Princess Alina and me and how I couldn't get myself to mark her despite my willingness to do that and the fact that she was always in the right position for me to do so.The sex was great. It was magnificent. Better than any sex that I had ever had with the many maidens in the Pack who did well to warm the bed of their Alpha; a rare privilege that they were surely grateful for.The Princess was different. I felt myself longing to have more of her even as we got intimate. She was quite skilled too, controlling the rhythm from time to time and ensuring that I was pleasured all through; so much that I felt a bit bad w

Chapter Twenty-Six Princess Alina's POV Mandy returned with the guard the previous night after I had sent them away to my mother so that she could tell me exactly what I needed to do. She did just that, as expected. My mother was a well of knowledge that I could have never done without. One of the things she asked me to do was to keep a close eye on Alpha Davon and everyone around him. "Friends and foes are always around us and they might be the people that we least expected," she asked Mandy to tell me in her own words and I knew just what to do. Earlier in the morning, I received news of a meeting to be held in the throne room between the elders and Alpha Davon and I knew that I needed to be there. I had my bath as quickly as I could and put on a long, black dress which I never loved to wear because it showed off no part of my body whatsoever. However, since I was going to meet the elders too, I needed them to have the best of impressions about me and the dress seemed like th

Chapter Twenty-Seven Elsa's POV The place buzzed with so much noise as all the maidens in the Pack paced to and fro, fulfilling one task or the other in preparation for the biggest ceremony ever known… The marriage between Alpha Davon and Princess Alina. It was inevitable, yet as I stood in a corner of the kitchen cutting some onion, I was full of an overwhelming sadness that I couldn't explain. It wasn't even that I wanted to get with him anymore. I had put that behind me a long time ago. Yet, the bond we shared remained and I couldn't deny it. The more I thought about the wedding, the angrier I got. Since I had no one else to vent my anger, I took it out on the poor onions, chopping them with so much force. Thankfully, they couldn't cry so I felt no guilt. "You're going to destroy that one," Abigail chuckled beside me, but I paid no attention to her words. I was in no mood for any chit-chat, especially since I had been overworked since the preparations began. Mrs Rosa kept pi

Chapter Twenty-Eight Alpha Davon's POV A week had passed and I was two more weeks away from getting married to Princess Alina. Yet, I didn't feel like it at all, even if I had already concluded in my heart that it was going to happen. My wolf wasn't shy about his displeasure too. He too, wasn't happy with the arrangement but what choice did we have? It wasn't our fault that the goddess refused to let me have a mate. Perhaps, it was her way of keeping me grounded so I wouldn't let power get so deep into my head. It still did, so I wondered why she had to do all she did for nothing. When the clan's priestess declared that many years ago, I couldn't help but bow my head in pain and anguish. I wondered how life was going to be for me and why I wasn't allowed to be like everyone else. All of those didn't change anything. She had made up her mind. I left my room early in the morning, hoping to see what was going on with the maids. It had been so long that I graced them with my presenc

"Why won't you let me fulfil my destiny? You know that you can't beat me, right?""You think so?" I raised my right brow."I didn't think that you'd be here, Elsa. I felt you'd be inside with your child in your belly or your arms," he explained. "I have not stopped loving you and I'd hate to kill you. Step away or you'll leave me no choice but to take your life.""You can try," I chuckled, gripping my knife very strongly. "I taught you everything you know, Elsa. Without me, you'd have been nothing," he reminded me. "Now, I didn't teach you everything I know. Just the ones I felt you should. I'll teach you now. I'll make you learn by experience. Some things are better learned that way."H

"He's being cleaned up by the maids."I stared at the ceiling feeling so exhausted. The pain that I felt and the energy I had to muster during my baby's childbirth had begun to take a huge toll on me. "Did you just say, 'He?'" I asked, as it suddenly struck me that she was referring to my child as a boy."Yes, my Queen. It's a baby boy and he looks so handsome," she gushed."Oh. Here he is," she said as one of the maids walked to my bed with my child in her hands.I managed to sit up with my back pressed against the wall for support and the maid handed my baby over to me. He was beautiful; so beautiful that I felt a few tears drop from my eyes as I stared at him. He had blue eyes, just like his father and he took my hair. My boy was a blondie. I bent and kissed him on the forehead, very happy to have him.

Chapter Hundred And SixMurray's POV"Hold," I screamed at my men as we got very close to the borders of the Stronghold Pack. I had sent three of our men to head over to the borders to find out what was going on and they were yet to return. So, I felt the need to hold on until they did, instead of rushing in blindly. I paused to look at the army that I had with me. I had managed to convince two other Rogue Kings to join us with their warriors in our quest to take Davon out. It wasn't that easy as they didn't trust me at first. Just like Alpha Grim, they thought that I had come to lead them to their demise and if Alpha Grim didn't intervene, they'd never have joined us. They weren't that large but with more than 15 carriages full of our combined warriors, I had no doubts that we were going to overwhelm them with ease. I also believed that the Rogues and I were the perfect match. I had trained the Rogues in my Pack for several months and I knew they were ready. But more than that, t

Chapter Hundred and FiveAlpha Davon's POV"The men from the Runway Pack have arrived, Alpha," one of the guards said to me as he rushed into the throne room. "Is Alpha Duncan with them?" I asked the guard but he just gawked at me, looking very clueless. "I'm sorry, I didn't look, " he confessed. "I just ran here as soon as I saw their carriage approaching the borders.""Thank you."I stood, headed out of the throne room and began to make my way to the borders. I wanted to welcome Alpha Duncan myself. I felt it would mean a lot to him if I did that, and encourage his people to give their all in the fight.I was a few metres away from the Pack Square when I saw them approaching. They were massive; even more than I had expected them to be. I tried to count but stopped when I was at ten carriages, only because they had gotten to where I stood and came to a halt. So I had to give my attention to the Alpha King who was making his way out of his carriage to meet up with me. "Greetings,

Chapter Hundred And FourAlpha Davon's POVEight Months Later"Alpha, we've got a letter," a guard walked into the throne room with a piece of paper in his hand. Two other guards walked in with him and just stood beside the door as he approached me with the paper. "From whom?" I asked, stretching my hand to take the paper from him. "My apologies, my Alpha. Good morning, Sir," he greeted. The urgency of what he had seemed to have caused him to forget that he was to greet me once he saw me. The other guards with him also did the same. They all bowed and greeted as they ought.I just nodded curtly and went back to my question. "Where did you get this from?" I asked again. "It was delivered to us by a Rogue. He came to us with a white flag and when we asked him to approach us, he came to us and handed the paper over to us. He said it came from your brother…""It came from Murray?" I asked in shock."Yes, Sir. It did."As I stared at the paper, I wondered what he wanted this time. We ha

I turned to my left and saw her holding onto my left hand with tears in her eyes and I wondered what happened to me. There were others in the room; the Pack nurse and two of her trainees. One of the guards was there too. They all had their gazes fixed on me when I woke up and it felt so overwhelming. Slowly, I began to recall what had happened. I remembered how I was talking to Abigail close to the garden before I felt weak and my eyes got hazy. It became clear to me exactly what had happened to me…I had fallen to the ground, unconscious. That must have been why I found myself in my room with no knowledge of how I got there. What I couldn't tell was what caused me to lose consciousness in the first place. "What happened?" I asked, trying in vain to sit up. "You must relax, my Queen," Abigail said, seeing that I struggled to get up. "You don't need to exert yourself at the mo

The previous night was a very busy one as I had to put a few foodstuffs together so that I could send them across to my mother. It was exhausting, yet it was worth it.I looked to my side and Davon was still fast asleep, even though he went to bed much earlier than I did. I thought he was beginning to get too lazy."Get up, sleepy head," I teased him, shaking him a few times to awaken him from his slumber. "It's morning already. Didn't you say that you had a meeting to attend?"He grudgingly turned as he stretched, yawning so loudly that I wondered how he became that tired. He finally got himself to sit up and he just stared at me like he was going to hit me. It was so funny. "You should have just let me sleep a little more, honey. The meeting is not until another hour," he protested. "You just didn't want to watch me enjoy

A few elders were already seated there when we walked into the place. My mother was there too. She sat on a sofa just opposite the elders and I didn't expect to see her there. I felt she'd be right next to my father instead. The previous night, news was sent to us that Melissa and Alina had broken out of their cells. We were told that they managed to get out despite the presence of several guards who were stationed in front of their cells in the dungeon and I couldn't help but feel surprised. I had thought something like that couldn't happen, especially because it had never happened before. Somehow, Melissa and her daughter were able to do the impossible. Chapter HundredAlina's POVAs we got off the carriage after arriving at the Rogue Pack, I looked around at my new surroundings and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. For sure, it was nothing compared to the Runway Pack. The brown leaves on the floor left a lot to be desired. The flowers grew wildly, no one bothered to trim them, but as I walked past them with my mom by my side, those were the least of my problems. I wondered how Murray was going to take the loss of his dear Mandy. I had lied to the other guards that she was killed by one of the guards in the Runway Pack. The good thing was that I didn't pull out the knife that I used to kill her and it belonged to Ronnie. Nothing about her death pointed to me, except that I was supposedly with her when it happened. Well, I shut off those thoughts as we continued to make our way to the throne room. I wanted to know what it looked like. "It must be the size of a mushroom," I laughed in my mind.
