Chapter Ninety-One

Elsa's POV

"Wow!" I exclaimed, shaking my head after hearing all that my mother had to say concerning that snake called Murray.

"I can't believe that I fell for someone like that," I sighed, ashamed of myself for letting him into my life.

"You better believe it, Elsa. It's not your fault though. That man is very cunning. He just has his way around people and eventually gets them to do what he wants. He did that to me too, didn't he?"

"He fooled us both, mother and child," I chuckled.

"If I knew that he was responsible for breaking your heart, he'd have been dead by now," she mouthed in anger. "I'm so sorry, my baby."

"It's fine, mom. No point crying over spilt milk, right? We must now concern ourselves with the more important things."

She smiled and stood on her feet while I did the same. "We're going to take a trip to the Runway Pack, Elsa," she divulged. "It's time for everyone to know the truth."

I'd have preferred to go to the Stronghold Pack instead, especial

"Don't you dare move an inch," one of the men screamed, causing me to freeze on the spot. "Who are you?""It's me. Elsa. I'm one of you," I subtly voiced. "Hold on guys," he said to his men and they came to a halt. "Come out so that I can see you. Do that very slowly.""Yeah. Sure." I slowly made my way out of the carriage into the open and he took a deep breath, seeing that he knew who I was. "What are you doing with these Rogues?" He asked. "Did they abduct you? Are you in any sort of trouble?""It's a long story, Fred, but I'm alright. I'm not in any kind of trouble," I assured him. "I just want to take them to the Alpha King. They have something important to share with him."He grunted and then walked across to our carriage to see who was inside. As he looked through, I noticed that my mother did her best to stare at the ground. Ma

Chapter Ninety-ThreeElsa's POVJan got to his feet immediately, seeing that things were about to get ugly and I chuckled. It was no use doing that since he was still no match for Alpha Davon in a fight."They're with me, Davon," I withstood him, standing in front of him. "You don't get to hurt them."He grunted and alternated his gaze between them for about a minute before reluctantly heading to the sofa on the right where he sat. Jan, too, sat back down and took a deep breath. I'm sure he thanked his stars or the Moon Goddess in his heart for saving him from certain death. He had me to thank too but he was never going to do that."Is there a problem here? It seems like I heard some noise."Alpha Duncan walked into the room with Melissa and Alina behind him. "No, there's no problem at all, Alpha Duncan. Good evening, Sir.""Elsa! It's so good to see that you're back. I came out here at once when the guard told me that you are back. What happened?" Chapter Ninety-FourElsa's POV"You're kidding, right?' Melissa asked, getting up to her feet but my mother said nothing to her. She just kept staring at her as she alternated her gaze between her husband and my mother."Take that back, this minute!" She yelled. "There's no way that Duncan, the Alpha of the Runway Pack could have birthed this… this–""Slave?" I asked, knowing that it was exactly what she had in mind. She probably didn't say it because my husband had warned her not to. "It is the truth," my mother insisted and to be honest, I found it hard to believe her too. "Why didn't you say something about it since then?" I asked, unable to hold the question back anymore even though I had planned to. Alpha Duncan, who supposedly was my father, didn't say a word. He just watched on, looking the most clueless that I'd ever seen him with his hands folded. "If I revealed that, your life would have been in danger, my daughter," she replied, shaking her head. "Your father and I had

Chapter Ninety-Five Two Weeks Later Melissa sat up on the bed with very heavy eyes as she was unable to get some sleep the previous night. She kept rolling on the bed from side to side as her mind, being restless, refused to settle. She was a mother with so much pain in her heart due to the predicament of her beloved daughter who had been locked away in the dungeon for two long weeks by her father with no hope of being set free. She turned to her right where Alpha Duncan lay peacefully as if he had no worries in the world and wondered how he could get himself to do what he was doing. Unable to take it anymore, he pushed him, trying to get him to wake up so that she could give him a piece of her mind and when he wouldn't wake up, she shook him vigorously until he did. "What is it, woman?" He asked, as he reluctantly opened his eyes to look at her. His vision was a tad cloudy at first due to the sudden nature of his awakening but in a few seconds, it was all cleared up. "You d

Chapter Ninety-SixAlpha Duncan lay on his bed after having his bath, thinking of the next step that he had to take concerning Alina. He was restless, rolling from side to side on the bed as he struggled to hold himself together. Alina had attempted to kill a person. Not just a person but a Princess of the Runway Pack. Such crimes were usually punishable by death and Alpha Duncan knew it. He just didn't want to be the one to sentence his own daughter to death.Even if it was the fair thing to do, it wasn't fair at all to him. To do the fair thing, he was to sentence his daughter to death for trying to take the life of yet another daughter of his. He was going to lose a daughter regardless. No father could ever want that.He decided to sit up on the bed, still stuck in his thoughts as he wondered if there was a way around his predicament; one that wouldn't require the life of any of his children."The Priestess; surely she must have something to say about this," he muttered to himsel

Chapter Ninety-SevenPrince Murray's POV"Alpha Murray, one of the Rogues who was arrested from the outskirts seeks an audience with you," a guard announced as I sat on my chair in the throne room, just beside Alpha Grim."No prisoner deserves an audience with the Alpha," I calmly said to the guard, even though I was angered that he dared tell me something like that. "Those fools will get what they deserve for failing to do what was required of them, despite the agreement we had. Some rules just have to be followed, even for Rogues."He bowed and left the room while I leaned back on my chair with my eyes shut as we all waited for the arrival of a guard whom we had sent to find out the situation of things with Alina. Things in the Rogue Pack had been pretty straightforward since I defeated Alpha Grim in single combat which was never in doubt despite his numerous attempts to prevent that. He was kind of mad at first, but a few nights with Mandy softened him up. More than that, it made

I heard my mother moan from her cell which was just beside mine.It had happened for a few nights and it made me wonder who it was that always went into her cell to have sex with her, especially since I was very sure it could have never been my father. The previous night, when I finally decided to ask her, "It's a guard who has promised to help," was all she said to me. When I tried to push further, she didn't say anything else. "Don't worry, my baby," she reassured me. "I'm alright and we'll both be out of here in no distant time. Just let mommy do her thing."As the sounds of their escapades kept ringing in my head, I put my hands over my ears in a desperate attempt to shut it out. It was futile though. The noise was so loud and it was clear that he was being very rough with her, in a good way. Despite her initial reluctance, she seemed to enjoy it in the end, even if she wasn't happy about it and I knew that so well.I wouldn't have known t

They're only two of them and I think we stand a chance if we take them by surprise," I suggested despite the fear that gripped me."These men are well-trained and we're not. Why do you think we stand any chance against them?""I don't. Would you rather let them take us to the dungeon?" "I'd rather die than let that happen," she responded defiantly. "You'll be quiet, you both," one of the guards barked at us. Maybe she was a little too loud. Thankfully, they didn't hear exactly what we said. "That's exactly why we must fight them," I whispered, ignoring the man's threats. "What's the worst that can happen? They'll just kill us. I don't think that's such a bad thing given the circumstances.""What do we think we should do to them?" One of the guards asked the other. "They're trying to escape so it won't be hard to simply say that we killed

"Why won't you let me fulfil my destiny? You know that you can't beat me, right?""You think so?" I raised my right brow."I didn't think that you'd be here, Elsa. I felt you'd be inside with your child in your belly or your arms," he explained. "I have not stopped loving you and I'd hate to kill you. Step away or you'll leave me no choice but to take your life.""You can try," I chuckled, gripping my knife very strongly. "I taught you everything you know, Elsa. Without me, you'd have been nothing," he reminded me. "Now, I didn't teach you everything I know. Just the ones I felt you should. I'll teach you now. I'll make you learn by experience. "He's being cleaned up by the maids."I stared at the ceiling feeling so exhausted. The pain that I felt and the energy I had to muster during my baby's childbirth had begun to take a huge toll on me. "Did you just say, 'He?'" I asked, as it suddenly struck me that she was referring to my child as a boy."Yes, my Queen. It's a baby boy and he looks so handsome," she gushed."Oh. Here he is," she said as one of the maids walked to my bed with my child in her hands.I managed to sit up with my back pressed against the wall for support and the maid handed my baby over to me. He was beautiful; so beautiful that I felt a few tears drop from my eyes as I stared at him. He had blue eyes, just like his father and he took my hair. My boy was a blondie. I bent and kissed him on the forehead, very happy to have him.

Chapter Hundred And SixMurray's POV"Hold," I screamed at my men as we got very close to the borders of the Stronghold Pack. I had sent three of our men to head over to the borders to find out what was going on and they were yet to return. So, I felt the need to hold on until they did, instead of rushing in blindly. I paused to look at the army that I had with me. I had managed to convince two other Rogue Kings to join us with their warriors in our quest to take Davon out. It wasn't that easy as they didn't trust me at first. Just like Alpha Grim, they thought that I had come to lead them to their demise and if Alpha Grim didn't intervene, they'd never have joined us. They weren't that large but with more than 15 carriages full of our combined warriors, I had no doubts that we were going to overwhelm them with ease. I also believed that the Rogues and I were the perfect match. I had trained the Rogues in my Pack for several months and I knew they were ready. But more than that, t

I asked the guard but he just gawked at me, looking very clueless. "I'm sorry, I didn't look, " he confessed. "I just ran here as soon as I saw their carriage approaching the borders.""Thank you."I stood, headed out of the throne room and began to make my way to the borders. I wanted to welcome Alpha Duncan myself. I felt it would mean a lot to him if I did that, and encourage his people to give their all in the fight.I was a few metres away from the Pack Square when I saw them approaching. They were massive; even more than I had expected them to be. I tried to count but stopped when I was at ten carriages, only because they had gotten to where I stood and came to a halt. So I had to give my attention to the Alpha King who was making his way out of his carriage to meet up with me. "Greetings,

Two other guards walked in with him and just stood beside the door as he approached me with the paper. "From whom?" I asked, stretching my hand to take the paper from him. "My apologies, my Alpha. Good morning, Sir," he greeted. The urgency of what he had seemed to have caused him to forget that he was to greet me once he saw me. The other guards with him also did the same. They all bowed and greeted as they ought.I just nodded curtly and went back to my question. "Where did you get this from?" I asked again. "It was delivered to us by a Rogue. He came to us with a white flag and when we asked him to approach us, he came to us and handed the paper over to us. He said it came from your brother…""It came from Murray?" I asked in shock."Yes, Sir. It did."As I stared at the paper, I wondered what he wanted this time. We ha

I turned to my left and saw her holding onto my left hand with tears in her eyes and I wondered what happened to me. There were others in the room; the Pack nurse and two of her trainees. One of the guards was there too. They all had their gazes fixed on me when I woke up and it felt so overwhelming. Slowly, I began to recall what had happened. I remembered how I was talking to Abigail close to the garden before I felt weak and my eyes got hazy. It became clear to me exactly what had happened to me…I had fallen to the ground, unconscious. That must have been why I found myself in my room with no knowledge of how I got there. What I couldn't tell was what caused me to lose consciousness in the first place. "What happened?" I asked, trying in vain to sit up. "You must relax, my Queen," Abigail said, seeing that I struggled to get up. "You don't need to exert yourself at the mo

It was exhausting, yet it was worth it.I looked to my side and Davon was still fast asleep, even though he went to bed much earlier than I did. I thought he was beginning to get too lazy."Get up, sleepy head," I teased him, shaking him a few times to awaken him from his slumber. "It's morning already. Didn't you say that you had a meeting to attend?"He grudgingly turned as he stretched, yawning so loudly that I wondered how he became that tired. He finally got himself to sit up and he just stared at me like he was going to hit me. It was so funny. "You should have just let me sleep a little more, honey. I felt she'd be right next to my father instead. The previous night, news was sent to us that Melissa and Alina had broken out of their cells. We were told that they managed to get out despite the presence of several guards who were stationed in front of their cells in the dungeon and I couldn't help but feel surprised. I had thought something like that couldn't happen, especially because it had never happened before. Somehow, Melissa and her daughter were able to do the impossible. Chapter HundredAlina's POVAs we got off the carriage after arriving at the Rogue Pack, I looked around at my new surroundings and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. For sure, it was nothing compared to the Runway Pack. The brown leaves on the floor left a lot to be desired. The flowers grew wildly, no one bothered to trim them, but as I walked past them with my mom by my side, those were the least of my problems. I wondered how Murray was going to take the loss of his dear Mandy. I had lied to the other guards that she was killed by one of the guards in the Runway Pack. The good thing was that I didn't pull out the knife that I used to kill her and it belonged to Ronnie. Nothing about her death pointed to me, except that I was supposedly with her when it happened. Well, I shut off those thoughts as we continued to make our way to the throne room. I wanted to know what it looked like. "It must be the size of a mushroom," I laughed in my mind. Yet, I knew not to write it off, s
