Chapter Sixty-Three

Prince Murray's POV

"Damn it! How did you let this happen?" I yelled at Stam, pacing around the room. He just sat on a chair with his head bowed and I kept ranting at him over and over for his very costly failure to deliver what he pledged.

After what happened, I was very certain that my brother wouldn't want to leave the Pack soon and even if he wanted to, he had to recover first and that could take quite some time.

"Danny's dead too," I said to him, lamenting the demise of the guard we sent to get rid of him after a bit of blackmail. I heard it was Elsa who rescued my brother, killing the man in the process. I was only glad she wasn't harmed. I'd have struggled to forgive myself for putting her in harm's way.

"I'm sorry, my Prince. I…"

"That's it. This is exactly what I'm talking about," I rudely cut in as my anger got the better of me. "You still call me Prince because you failed. You should be calling me Alpha by now. I should be the Alpha and the Prince

Chapter Sixty-Four Alina's POV "What am I going to do about this?" I repeatedly asked myself as I sat quietly on my bed. It had been several days since my husband returned to the Pack and only a few times had I gone to see him. I couldn't stand to behold him the way he was looking but I planned to visit him since I heard that he was finally awake. But that wasn't the problem that got to me the most. Not even close. Ever since Murray returned to the Pack with Elsa, there has been a strange aura about him. Each time we crossed paths, I couldn't help but halt my movement as something in me reached out to him very strongly. His smell got more and more intoxicating and after the last meeting we had where he told me about a meeting with the elders that was to be held by the end of the week, I was convinced that he was my mate. It felt so strange. We had been around each other for so long and yet, I never took notice of that. Nothing about him suggested anything like that. I had hea

Chapter Sixty-Five Alpha Davon's POV "Elsa, in front of the entire council of elders, please tell us what you just said to the Queen and me," I ordered Elsa, sitting on my throne due to the grave nature of the issue at hand. After Elsa's presence in the room and her revelation that my meal was poisoned, I took it upon myself to call a meeting with the elders and make my way to the throne room. If it was indeed true that the food was poisoned, it would be the second time that an attempt would be made on my life and I couldn't let it go on. Elsa was never going to always be there to save my life. They both helped me get to my feet, Alina and Elsa, after trying in vain to counsel me against going to that meeting. Then they led me out of the room to the throne room where I sat on my throne and awaited the arrival of the elders, Murray and Raymond. I had them bring the maid who served me to the throne room so that she, too, could also hear the accusation that was being levied at her

Chapter Sixty-Six Alpha Davon's POV "Ah," I yawned as fatigue got the better of me as soon as I was made to sit on the bed by Elsa after such an exhausting meeting. "I think you should lie down. You're clearly very tired," she said to me and I didn't need any further persuasion to do just that. I lay on the bed quickly, stretching as much as I could as I yawned one more time. I needed to get some sleep and I knew it, but I couldn't pass on an opportunity to talk to Elsa even if it was for a short time. I shut my eyes for a while just to reminisce all that happened earlier on in the throne room. I wondered if I had made the right choice by asking a guard to bring the food to the throne room and leaving it very close to Linda. If only I had kept it away from her, maybe she'd have still been alive. Perhaps, I'd have been able to find out who was behind those attempts on my life because after spending so much time and energy, I was still left with nothing. The only thing that I ach

Chapter Sixty-Seven Murray's POV "What the hell is happening to me?" I said to myself over and over again, struggling to get a grasp of the way that I felt within me. For a whole week, I had barely spent any time with Elsa, save the few times when I went to see my brother and at night when we both got back to the room too tired to say anything but a subtle goodnight before dozing off. It was a weird relationship but I could understand that she was very busy tending to my brother during the day. It was normal for our time to reduce because of that. What wasn't normal was that I wasn't just spending time with Mandy while she was gone but with Alina. It was so bad that even Mandy had begun to suspect me even though I always denied it and shut her up each time she brought the matter up. I knew she was no fool though. We used to meet every day before that time. But I reduced it to once in two days so that I could make room for Alina who had no problem with that, seeing that she knew

Chapter Sixty-Eight Elsa's POV "I know that Alpha Davon is now alright. He's hale and hearty. I saw him just yesterday and he was all smiles as he walked around the kitchen just to greet us all. He's a kind one, but Elsa honey, you don't have to leave the Pack," Aby tried to dissuade me from leaving in her usual verbose manner. "We could just stay here. You'll be the wife of the Prince. That's something huge, isn't it? No one's gonna maltreat you. You're part of the royal family. On the other hand, I get to have my friend with me and you get to have the most adorable friend that anyone can ever have… Me." I always knew that it was going to come to that. After the last encounter we had when I attempted to leave the Pack with Prince Murray, I was convinced of her dramatic nature. I just didn't know what to do about it. Somehow, it felt like she was the only one who was keen to have us stay together. She might have thought that way in her mind because only she made the effort and I l

Chapter Sixty-Nine Elsa's POV For a few seconds, Murray just kept staring at us and said nothing. Then he slowly closed the door behind him and walked towards us with a better visage. "What's going on here?" He asked. "I just came here not so long ago to let Alpha Davon know that we'll be leaving the Pack tomorrow. He doesn't seem to agree with that." "Really?" Murray got to the bed and sat by Alpha Davon's right hand. "But I already told you that brother. We need to leave soon. We must do so." Alpha Davon shook his head and frowned. He was displeased but there was nothing he could do about it because our minds were already made up. Yet, he was willing to try. "You wouldn't stay back? Even for me, brother?" "Even for you. I can't remain in the Pack. I'm sorry." "Okay then," Alpha Davon replied, finally conceding that we couldn't get us to stay back. "All I can say to both of you is that you should go well. May the Goddess be with you both and grant you a safe trip." "Thank yo

  • Fated To An Omega    The War 2

Chapter Seventy Elsa's POV It was evening and everything was set for us to leave the Pack. The warriors were all dressed up with their armours on and the carriages were ready. Alpha Davon stepped out of the throne room with Alina by his side as he prepared to get into the carriage so that we could head out. As they walked, I wondered why Alina had to be such a coward, especially since she wasn't actually as weak as she portrayed herself to be. She was just scared of wars because she probably didn't want to put her life on the line. "Are you set?" Alpha Davon asked, as they both got to where I stood and I nodded, not wanting to say a word because Alina was there. She was already wearing a squint as soon as Alpha Davon spoke to me and I didn't want to make things any worse than they already were. They walked past me and I followed behind until we got to our carriage. Alpha Davon and I were to travel in the same carriage whilst the rest of the people entered the other carriages

Chapter Seventy-One Elsa's POV I quickly moved to the right to evade the arrow. I managed to evade it but it was a bit too late. It grazed my skin, drawing a bit of blood from it and I held it, shutting my eyes in pain. "Are you hurt?" Alpha Davon rushed to me looking very concerned. "I'm fine. It's just a scratch. Nothing to worry about at all. Let's go kick their asses." I used my sword to cut out a part of my dress and with it, I tied the wound so that it wouldn't bleed so much and then, I began to look around so that I could find out who attacked me. Our men did the same too as two other men had fallen to the floor, killed by an arrow shot to the neck and the tip of those arrows were made of silver. Suddenly, one of our men faced his bow upwards and shot his arrow and immediately, a man fell from a tree which wasn't so far away from where I stood. "Aim high!" Alpha Davon yelled at the men as we saw that the enemies had covered themselves with leaves so that they'd remai

"Why won't you let me fulfil my destiny? You know that you can't beat me, right?""You think so?" I raised my right brow."I didn't think that you'd be here, Elsa. I felt you'd be inside with your child in your belly or your arms," he explained. "I have not stopped loving you and I'd hate to kill you. Step away or you'll leave me no choice but to take your life.""You can try," I chuckled, gripping my knife very strongly. "I taught you everything you know, Elsa. Without me, you'd have been nothing," he reminded me. "Now, I didn't teach you everything I know. Just the ones I felt you should. I'll teach you now. I'll make you learn by experience. Some things are better learned that way."H

"He's being cleaned up by the maids."I stared at the ceiling feeling so exhausted. The pain that I felt and the energy I had to muster during my baby's childbirth had begun to take a huge toll on me. "Did you just say, 'He?'" I asked, as it suddenly struck me that she was referring to my child as a boy."Yes, my Queen. It's a baby boy and he looks so handsome," she gushed."Oh. Here he is," she said as one of the maids walked to my bed with my child in her hands.I managed to sit up with my back pressed against the wall for support and the maid handed my baby over to me. He was beautiful; so beautiful that I felt a few tears drop from my eyes as I stared at him. He had blue eyes, just like his father and he took my hair. My boy was a blondie. I bent and kissed him on the forehead, very happy to have him.

Chapter Hundred And SixMurray's POV"Hold," I screamed at my men as we got very close to the borders of the Stronghold Pack. I had sent three of our men to head over to the borders to find out what was going on and they were yet to return. So, I felt the need to hold on until they did, instead of rushing in blindly. I paused to look at the army that I had with me. I had managed to convince two other Rogue Kings to join us with their warriors in our quest to take Davon out. It wasn't that easy as they didn't trust me at first. Just like Alpha Grim, they thought that I had come to lead them to their demise and if Alpha Grim didn't intervene, they'd never have joined us. They weren't that large but with more than 15 carriages full of our combined warriors, I had no doubts that we were going to overwhelm them with ease. I also believed that the Rogues and I were the perfect match. I had trained the Rogues in my Pack for several months and I knew they were ready. But more than that, t

Chapter Hundred and FiveAlpha Davon's POV"The men from the Runway Pack have arrived, Alpha," one of the guards said to me as he rushed into the throne room. "Is Alpha Duncan with them?" I asked the guard but he just gawked at me, looking very clueless. "I'm sorry, I didn't look, " he confessed. "I just ran here as soon as I saw their carriage approaching the borders.""Thank you."I stood, headed out of the throne room and began to make my way to the borders. I wanted to welcome Alpha Duncan myself. I felt it would mean a lot to him if I did that, and encourage his people to give their all in the fight.I was a few metres away from the Pack Square when I saw them approaching. They were massive; even more than I had expected them to be. I tried to count but stopped when I was at ten carriages, only because they had gotten to where I stood and came to a halt. So I had to give my attention to the Alpha King who was making his way out of his carriage to meet up with me. "Greetings,

Two other guards walked in with him and just stood beside the door as he approached me with the paper. "From whom?" I asked, stretching my hand to take the paper from him. "My apologies, my Alpha. Good morning, Sir," he greeted. The urgency of what he had seemed to have caused him to forget that he was to greet me once he saw me. The other guards with him also did the same. They all bowed and greeted as they ought.I just nodded curtly and went back to my question. "Where did you get this from?" I asked again. "It was delivered to us by a Rogue. He came to us with a white flag and when we asked him to approach us, he came to us and handed the paper over to us. He said it came from your brother…""It came from Murray?" I asked in shock."Yes, Sir. It did."As I stared at the paper, I wondered what he wanted this time. We ha

I turned to my left and saw her holding onto my left hand with tears in her eyes and I wondered what happened to me. There were others in the room; the Pack nurse and two of her trainees. One of the guards was there too. They all had their gazes fixed on me when I woke up and it felt so overwhelming. Slowly, I began to recall what had happened. I remembered how I was talking to Abigail close to the garden before I felt weak and my eyes got hazy. It became clear to me exactly what had happened to me…I had fallen to the ground, unconscious. That must have been why I found myself in my room with no knowledge of how I got there. What I couldn't tell was what caused me to lose consciousness in the first place. "What happened?" I asked, trying in vain to sit up. "You must relax, my Queen," Abigail said, seeing that I struggled to get up. "You don't need to exert yourself at the mo

It was exhausting, yet it was worth it.I looked to my side and Davon was still fast asleep, even though he went to bed much earlier than I did. I thought he was beginning to get too lazy."Get up, sleepy head," I teased him, shaking him a few times to awaken him from his slumber. "It's morning already. Didn't you say that you had a meeting to attend?"He grudgingly turned as he stretched, yawning so loudly that I wondered how he became that tired. He finally got himself to sit up and he just stared at me like he was going to hit me. It was so funny. "You should have just let me sleep a little more, honey. I felt she'd be right next to my father instead. The previous night, news was sent to us that Melissa and Alina had broken out of their cells. We were told that they managed to get out despite the presence of several guards who were stationed in front of their cells in the dungeon and I couldn't help but feel surprised. I had thought something like that couldn't happen, especially because it had never happened before. Somehow, Melissa and her daughter were able to do the impossible. Chapter HundredAlina's POVAs we got off the carriage after arriving at the Rogue Pack, I looked around at my new surroundings and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. For sure, it was nothing compared to the Runway Pack. The brown leaves on the floor left a lot to be desired. The flowers grew wildly, no one bothered to trim them, but as I walked past them with my mom by my side, those were the least of my problems. I wondered how Murray was going to take the loss of his dear Mandy. I had lied to the other guards that she was killed by one of the guards in the Runway Pack. The good thing was that I didn't pull out the knife that I used to kill her and it belonged to Ronnie. Nothing about her death pointed to me, except that I was supposedly with her when it happened. Well, I shut off those thoughts as we continued to make our way to the throne room. I wanted to know what it looked like. "It must be the size of a mushroom," I laughed in my mind.
