Today would be very interesting. Valis arranged a tour of his coven for us so that we could meet some of the humans who were considering leaving the coven.

Dante, Chris, Lindsey, and Diego came along with Kade and I. Others wanted to tag along, but we did not want to overwhelm anyone. We would be working closely with Valis’ coven, so there would be future opportunities.

I was not certain what to expect because the only references I had about vampire habitats were from horrendous Hollywood films. I was sadly mistaken when Valis led us through an average town. There were shops, restaurants, a hospital, a school, and beautifully constructed houses.

“The Czarcu Coven is home to roughly three hundred vampires, both born and turned, and right over two hundred humans,” Valis told us.

“How often do more humans come here?” I asked curiously.

Two children were chasing a ball down the sidewalk and were not paying attention to where they were going and toppled into Valis.
