Seeing the entry for the caves gave Edwin a boost in hope, much needed. Alexa's eyes were closed her breathing labored, her heartbeat slow and almost faint, dark webs of veins were visible in her neck. He knew that time was running out for her. The day of traveling had been one of the most agonizing that he had ever experienced, between cries and screams from Alexa then the quiet of the dead, which made him worried that the sparkle of life in her could fade anytime. She spent the traveling between the two states and he couldn't do anything to help her, to ease her pain. Her head rested against his chest and he never let go of her waist, with one hand, and with the other, he took the reins of the horse and guided it towards the entrance of the caves.

As soon as he got to the entrance he noticed that Jax couldn't go the rest of the way so he dismounted and took Alexa in his arms, feeling her cold and sweating, shivering from a fever. Running was the way that he chooses to look

They left the cave knowing that nothing would ever be the same. They had found the feelings they had acted on them and because of that everything could be lost or on the other hand, they could begin anew. The path that laid ahead was one of the difficulties and obstacles that either led to an open war or the long-lasting peace they wanted so badly. It was night when they emerged from the depth of the cave, "we need to go to Zulcan," Alexa worded absentmindedly, again. "If we go to Zulcan we might not get to Lucius in time to save him. We are the only ones who can heal him. And he might be the only one able to stop the army that is marching towards Zulcan." Argued Edwin looking into Alexa's eyes, concern marked his face with a thin line on his forehead. "I know but if we don't go to..." The Library of the castle was an enormous space, covered in its walls with shelves full of books of all types, old and new, from too to bottom it had a sliding ladder that gave access to the top books, the only light in the room was from the candles lit into every corner and on top of the tables so people could read, it was rarely used by others than Charles, whom no one had seen since last night when they've performed the ritual to connect with Alexa. Truman was searching for the shorter man and knew as he knew himself that he would be in the library, searching for the theme that Alexa had asked. If he did what he told them he would he'd be in the darkroom of the library, they call that because it was a room locked by a key that no one knew where it was, and Alexa never cared for breaking the lock or the door down, so what was behind it remained a mystery, but Charles had read all the books there and knew that no one talked about mates or hybrids or vampires and wer

Aurea looked for the man, layered in the bed, cold as ice, as if dead claimed him once and for all. But even like in this state, Lucius still installed fear on her heart and many others, before poisoned he reigned with an iron fist and fear. He was one of the oldest vampires alive and even his nephew couldn't stand him, Edwin lived far up north before. Now he was the only one that could bring him back, and Aurea would do anything she could to stop it from happening, not only Morgaine life would be on the line but hers too, even if she couldn't do anything to stop the elder vampire. Lucius had created Morgaine and Aurea, but she was an inferior rank. He enjoyed Morgaine from the first moment he had seen her, pure and innocent, he believed that the best evil came from the purest of heart and he managed to break her time and time again. She broke and evil filled her heart. Then Lucius married her but she had failed to give him any child, it was rare but possible for a vampire t

The land was covered in snow, making Alexa shiver in cold, but they needed to walk until they reached the White Castle, or they would arouse suspicion, a wolf was a rare animal in these parts, as Edwin had explained to her, so she had to maintain the human form. As they decided, they would be entering the castle from the dungeons and walk through the corridors until they reached Lucius with one little stop in the library to ask the Scholar if he knew anything about the cure that was needed for Lucius. Here it was where it laid the biggest problem, Alexa wasn't a vampire, and that would create tension with the Scholar, they had agreed that she would stay quiet and if anyone asked, she was a mere human girl servant that Edwin had picked on the journey. Alexa kept her head low as they crossed the little wooden door that led to the dungeons inside, she tried not to look up, but the smell of blood, sex, and torture filled her nostrils she took a peek and wished she hadn't done it

He charged there, remembering all the words said between Alexa and Flavius, he ordered that any of the sleeping soldiers should be restrained and taken back to a secure location, where they couldn’t run anymore. And why are you here?""We heard your message to the werewolves, how we can be accepted here, without fear and abuse, how we can be treated equally and without being wild!" A short woman spoke, taking a step forward, "We want an opportunity to show our worth, without being on a bed or taking up arms!" she finished, looking Alexa in the eyes as if defying her to contradict herself."We want to go back to our master! Alexa woke up the next day, with her eyes throbbing and red from the cry of the night before, but Edwin's words made a click inside of her, and all the sorrow and guilt she was feeling towards Andrew's death, she used them to fuel the rage and the beast inside of her, she stood from the bed, went to clean herself with a resolution in her mind, she chose the dark dress to symbolize the grief she was feeling, but behind the dress, she used her knitted fabric armor, and the weapons she always carried, in her head, she wore a simple crown of silver and sapphires. Edwin woke up and smiled when he saw her dressed and ready to take on the day."How are you feeling?" He asked."Do you want an honest answer or a polite one?" "Do you thought you could get rid of me that easily, but I have a question, how did you manage to poison me knowing you would die?" Asked Lucius, tilting his head to one side, looking like a predator ready to jump into his prey. "Flavius found a way to free me from that curse, and he anchored everyone else to me," Morgaine explained, slowly as if she was on autopilot and didn't have the chance to process everything that was happening. "You could have succeeded, but you didn't! I came to take home my servants and my warriors, if you want to keep this war of yours, you can do it, but not with my people!" Argued Lucius in an authoritative voice. "You can talk to them, but they will not choose you! They despise you! You're a monster, torture and fear aren't quite the motivators!" Ordered Morgaine, as soon as he salutes them, he was a vampire so, under her rule, she gave the orders because of that."The scouts found out a team of riders coming this way, with Queen Alexa and Prince Edwin at its head, twelve riders, and they are bearing a white flag.
