Astra's pov
"Astra, sweetheart, hide here, alright? Don't make a single noise. AND DO NOT COME OUT NO MATTER WHAT!"
"B...but mom...you...and Lucas...you guys..." I remember hardly being able to speak as I was trembling all over, tears streaming all over my cheeks. I couldn't even stand up properly. I was clinging to mom's arm, refusing to let go and be parted from her for even a second. I had a huge cut under my elbow and blood gushed down from behind mom's left ear. Lucas was outside, fighting.
"I can fight! I can still go on, mom! Just let me!" She wrapped her arms around me.
"Astra, the wolf that injured you had poison in his nails. It has entered your cells already. We have to delay the spreading of the poison throughout your body. If you move, it will just spread faster. I will be back soon, I promise." As much as she tried to make it sound convincing, I could still hear her voice shaking slightly. I nodded.

Jay's pov Her eyes were slowly shutting close. My arms shook, watching the girl I love dying right in my arms. But her body still felt warm and I could feel her chest go up and down as she took heavy breaths in. "Quickly! I have to do this quickly. I don't have time!" I opened the bottle and poured the liquid into my mouth. Lining my lips on top of hers, I made her drink the antidote. Relief flooded my body as she swallowed it. I hoped I was not too late to do that. For the next half an hour, I stayed still, still holding her. Her breathing was loud and so was my heartbeat. I was way too scared. When I felt her breathing starting to get normal, I felt relief all over my body again. Outside, the war was still raging, both packs fighting with every intention to kill and die if needed. I felt guilty, for not being out there to help but I knew I needed to be with Astra for now. I stared at her facing, smiling as the paleness turned back to her usual skin
Jay's pov Don't say it! Don't say it! DON'T SAY IT!! I hoped he wouldn't say it. But I KNEW he would. Hoping was useless. Also, the truth needed to be found out someday. And it was just today... "What you do not know is...I am Jay's 'dad'...Jay, right here, is my heir. The heir to your enemy pack. He came here because I told him." I hated the way he smiled when he said that. Astra looked at me as if waiting for me to deny it. I couldn't. I remained silent. She continued to stare at me and I kept avoiding eye contact. "*sigh* You guys look like you two need some time to talk it out. Okay..." he stood up and started making his way towards the door. "You two," he told the two wolves there, "come with me. And oh right! Convey this message. Do not kill the alpha's family. I can't ignore this. After all, this is a request from my 'dear son'..." Saying this, he left the room with the other two. The two wolves ran off to spread his message.
Astra's pov I felt my consciousness returning to me and I slowly opened my eyes. "Jay.." I called out to him but my voice was barely over a whisper. Two wolves attacked him. I recognized them. Wolves from the enemy pack. I fought and escaped from them earlier. I heard them saying things as they fought. Jay was saying something about us not being the same forever. I tried to move but my body couldn't budge. Just then, the enemy alpha entered. ... I could hardly walk and I could hardly see. Tears flooded my eyes and all I could see was a blurry scene where werewolves were fighting each other, with bloodied bodies but still fighting for themselves and the ones they loved, their families, the entire pack. All this could never have
Lucas' pov "This will be the end of your pack, Lucas. You and your dad, both of you took great pride in being the alpha of this pack, didn't you? I always hated the smug look your dad had on his face. It made me feel like he looked down on our pack. And now, you and your sister both have the same look that he had. I am gonna take care of you right here." "We will have to see about that." As our claws clashed, he looked into my eyes and smirked. "Good thing we managed to poison that brat. Our men must have taken care of her by now." As I realized that he was talking about Astra, my body froze for a split second. It gave the enemy an opening and his claw struck my neck. Luckily, I came back to my senses quickly and I dodged it. He still managed to cut my neck but luckily, it wasn't a deep cut. A drop of blood trickled from the corner of the cut. He stood straight and looked at his claws. "Huh? I missed?" He tilted his head an
Astra's pov The war felt like it had been going on forever. The sight of all those corpses, all the blood, and the number of injured wolves losing blood so rapidly, being rushed to get treated, some still lying around, not being able to walk on their own, not having anyone to assist them made my head spin a little. Although I took the antidote, I felt like the poison was still gnawing at the insides of my body. Also what I had discovered about Jay... "Astra! ASTRA!" I snapped back to my senses. "Mom and I will help them cover here. I want you to help the injured wolves and get them inside. We have to save them." I nodded and ran to help the injured wolves. Lucas asked a few other wolves that seemed fine to assist me. We hurried, as fast as we could, and got them inside, to the medical team. I was on the verge of crying, looking at how things had turned out. I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Kev..." I said as I turned my head to see who it
Astra's pov: I tried to dodge him. He was too quick. All I could do was turn around. Ugh! He got me. Blood gushed down my back. It hurt so bad. Blood! More blood now. It made me nauseous. Why was all this happening? I couldn't hold back my tears. What hurt me more than the wound on my back was all that was happening around me. Dad tried so hard to make us a peaceful pack. He died for it. Was it meaningless? "You're the reason why Jay delayed all this. This will be it," Amon raised his hand for the last strike. I looked around. Lucas, Kevin, they were both on the ground, unconscious. Amon's men managed to catch them off-guard from behind and took them down. I knew I couldn't escape. It was useless to resist. I closed my eyes and waited for him to land the blow. "Ackk!" I heard coughing. I opened my eyes. Jay! His body shielded mine. Why? Why would he do that? "I thought I told you to not touch them." He glared at Amon. Amon shrugged. "I wasn't trying to kill her. At most, I was
Astra's pov"Astra, baby, please come out. You need to eat." I could hear my mom's worried voice outside the door. I wanted to tell her that I just needed to be alone for a while. I wanted to tell her that I had no appetite. But I could not. My body felt numb and I had no energy to move. I didn't know what day it was. All I knew was, I had been in my room for days, mom and Lucas were worried and Jay was gone. GONE. Every time I thought about him, my chest felt uneasy and tears flowed down my cheeks. I did not want to cry. I tried to convince myself that it was okay, it'd be alright soon. But I failed every single time.I heard a loud sigh outside."I know, sweetheart. All that happened, no one expected it. You're worrying us here, dear. Please eat, even if it's just a few spoonfuls. You need to take care of yourself." She left after that. Lucas's povI thought it would end with all that. Everyone thought it was all over. I never expected that Amon himself would come "visit" me. And he brought Jay along. My first instinct was to pounce at Jay. How dare he? How dare he betray us like that? How dare he betray Astra? He did not even have any idea of how Astra suffered due to him. And he was here, sitting in front of me, not even looking at me now. As if HE was the victim. But I held myself back. I knew how powerless I was in front of them. Jay alone would be a tough one to fight. And Amon, Amon was way too strong. I needed to train for a hundred more years to go against him. He was well aware of this fact too. He knew I wouldn't dare to attack. And he held a smug expression on his face. I took a deep breath."Why are you two here? So much has happened already and you still dare to show your face here?" I stared at Jay. He was still staring at his knees."Seems my son here got way too attached to you guys and regrets doing
