Chapter 72: putting her daughter first

It rang off and I sighed. I stared at the blank screen and my heart leaped into my throat when the call came again.

I held my breath as my hand slide on the green button.

I remained tight-lipped as I wait for the person on the other end to speak first.

" Nora it's me, Jason!," A masculine voice came and a huge sigh left my lips.

" Are you okay?" I hear him asked. He must have heard the huge sigh I left out.

Gosh! I need to get rid of this fear in me.

" Yes I'm okay," I answered.

" I'm just relieved that you didn't left without me," I added. It was the perfect excuse that I've come up with in ages.

" I wouldn't do that. I walked overtime so can you come downstairs? I'm through with my shift,"

" Sure, just six minutes," I answered and hung up.

I picked all the stuffs Aurora might need along the way and stuffed them into a bag.

I wore my belly bet and placed Aurora in it.
