CHAPTER 3

A very big wolf!

6years later...

"Alexandria! Alex! Alex!" Diana_ shouted as vibrant ten years Alexandria, ran past her,  she looked very pretty in the knee-length flair lemon gown she was wearing. Her long thick silver hair was held up in a ponytail.

She had her mother's, small almond,  eyes, the pupil, dark and thin with winter grey pupils. She was a rare beauty.

"Momma" She drew the words as her perfectly lined eyebrows with her very long eyelashes fluttering up and down as she posed, annoyed. Her two hands are seated firmly on her tiny hips, "Mom, have you forgotten, I reminded you every day?" She said with her pointy nose shooting straight at her mom's face. "Forgotten what dear, where are you going?" Her mom replied turning fully to face her daughter.

"Mom, today is the full moon, and the new becoming wolf is going to have their first transformation today, have you forgotten? I want to go and watch them" she said pressing her red apple lips tightly.

"Well, young lady that doesn't mean you can just run off like that" Diana scolded. "I'm sorry mom" Alex apologized immediately. "Now that's better, it fine dear, and no, I did not forget Alex," Diana said as she went back to slicing the apple she was holding "but you know it's late and your dad wouldn't be happy if he finds out you went out this late" her mom added.

"Mom, pleaseeeee" Alex begged as she walked close to her mom, "mom, I want to go and see, I need to go and see how the new wolves change skin, I can't wait to be 18 so that I can also transform, and I would make sure I turn into a very big wolf so that Angelica and her friends wouldn't be able to trouble me anymore at school," Alexandria said looking quite confident.

That struck a chord, Diana's reaction tensed up a bit but she remained calm, she pulled Alexandria near, and cupped her face in her palm, "sweetheart, do your classmates bully you at school?" Diana asked searching her daughter's eyes like the answers were imprinted in them, she knew her angel, Alexandria who her father sometimes referred to as 'my warrior' wasn't growing as a normal wolf kid.

Ever since she began to grow, Diana observe certain things that weren't normal for a were-wolve kid most especially in terms of her physical strength she could be considered to be very weak compared to even the wolf kids from weak families.

This was unexpected since she and her husband could be considered average strong wolves. Since she began to notice this she became worried about her daughter. Apart from her getting bullied or Maltreated, there was so much more she feared if what she had suspected was true.

 "Alex", her mother called again after she didn't get any response from her daughter, "are you being bullied at school?" She asked again. "Come on mum", Alexandria replied almost immediately as she noticed the worried look on her mother's face, "momma, it's nothing to worry about, mom, tell me what does daddy call me?" She asked.

"My warrior?" her mother replied, "And what do you call me?" She asked again, 'My angel'? "and mom what do you think of a wolf who is a warrior and an angel mhmm?", " that wolf must be super special," her mom said smiling. "Correct momma", Alexandria said smiling, from ear to ear.

"You see momma, am not just a wolf child am a pretty angel who is a warrior, I won't let what they say get to me, because that's not what I am, am not weak, daddy say am a warrior, and warriors are not weak, and like you said am special, so it's only normal for wolf people to go after special things, but don't worry am a big girl and I can take care of myself she said smiling".

" But mom, I have to go and look at the transformation, pleaseee", she begged with puppy eyes, "Fine", her mom replied reluctantly. She knew her daughter didn't want to talk about the bully topic now so she decided to just let her be, for now, she definitely would look out for that soon. Who dared to mess with her kid. "Don't get all excited yet, you would have to wait a bit so I can get my dress because am going with you" her mom concluded.

"Thank you, momma, you are the best, the bestest best in the whole wild world," She said. Diana quickly went in and got her dress which she handed over to Alex, she wanted to enjoy the full moon, she let her wolf lady out.

Alex wore her slippers and dashed out of the house while her mom's wolf came running after her. The full moon spread its light across the borders of Demeris right here at Luna land life seem to be bustling in this thick night, wolf howling at the moon was heard at every corner, with beating drums, coming from the wolf circle in a distance.

Alex and Diana ran all the way, with Diana howling laughter echoing as she watched her daughter run so hard to meet up with her, running as fast as her little leg could carry her in other to win their little game of who gets there first.

A game which she always failed as her mom would always tell her. "I don't just sit back and let you win, not because I can't, but because the real world won't let you do that. If you want something then fight to earn it so that when you eventually get it, you can raise your head tall and high and say, I did it!"

They arrived at the wolf circle (a place which was like an open dome with no roof. Hundreds of seats, circled the hall. This was where most of the wolf ceremonies and occasions were held) They came in just in time, the whole arena was crowded.

Diana turned back to find her little daughter running right behind her to catch up with her and she couldn't help but chuckle as she saw how Alexandria kept running even though she was almost out of breath, finally, she met up with her mom breathing out loudly, "Momma you won again!" Alex said as she removed a cloth from her cross bag and placed it across her mom so she could cover her body as she transformed back, "yes dear" Diana replied coming out from a corner where she bent around to transform and put on her clothes.

"But momma, it's not fair! You always compete with me in your wolf form, you know if you run on your two legs I would beat you in the race" she said looking determined. "You think so?" Diana said, as she held Alex leading them forward towards the circle, "My dear the world is never always fair, most time it would play 'use what you have to get what you want ' what then would you do in that case?"Diana asked.

" Hmmm, momma, what if what I have, can't get me what I want?" Alex asked curiously, "well then if it can't get you what you want, then it should be able to get you what you need and if not, improvise!" Diana said as she bent around the corner to put on her clothes

" What I want, what I need? What I want, what I need what I...", Alex thought out loud as she got ready to ask another question.  "Momm, what's the difference, between what I want and what I need?" Well dear, how about we leave the question for another day", Diana said as they headed to the entrance.

"The show is about to start, see? the moon is in its glory," she said pointing to the moon, "let's go find a good spot am sure you don't want to miss any part or be left standing through the entire show just to watch them well". "Yes momma," Alex said as she excitedly clutched her mother's hands as they walked in.

They settled down and found a spot, close to the front, enough for them both to squeeze in, the occasion began almost immediately.

The sound of exciting powerful rhythmic beating started with men dancing to the beat while playing with fire. The Royal soldiers also performed, they did sword dance and made rallying sounds as they danced, and banged themselves on the hard floor and got up again immediately like they felt no pain, even for a moment.

Alex's eyes sparkled, "wow, mom, they are really strong!" Alex exclaimed, "yes dear," Diana said as she watched he daughters, who were certainly lost in the world of admiration.

There was also a ritual dance performance by werewolves who swayed, jumped, and transformed as they danced. It was a kind of enticement to the newly becoming wolves to showcase the strength of becoming a full wolf and to encourage the new ones to endure the pain of their first transformation.
