Chapter 139

Frank stood in front of the mirror, staring at himself. Shelby was determined to stay in the country for her father's sake. He understood that her guilt was why she wanted to stay, but pinning him into a country that he did not want to stay in was not fair.

Shelby walked up behind him. "Good morning. Did you sleep last night?" she asked.

"No, how could I when we promised ourselves that we would grow old in Cuba?" He turned to face her.

"I know and I am sorry, I have tried to talk to my father about whether we can move him, but he said I am free to leave him to die in the country he was born in," she replied.

Frank closed his eyes.

"I know, but it is my fault that he is in that condition," she replied.

Frank had no idea what to say; he was stuck between a rock. Leaving meant he was not supportive of his wife, and it would not leave a good impression on his in-laws.

Shelby hugged him from behind. "Stay a week and then come up with a business excuse, and you can be visiting us on weekend
