It was a busy day at A-Dome. The sound of clattering plates, the smell of freshly cooked meat, and the sweet aroma of mixed desserts.
Liam was busy at work like always.“Good evening, can I start you off with some drinks?”The man looked Liam up and down. Liam was oblivious to the sexual tension that was forming.“Yea, your number would be great.” Liam was caught off guard. Was this man flirting with him? Either way, he needed to keep his composure.“Sorry sir, but that isn’t on the menu. We have Sweet tea, Lemonade, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi-““That isn’t what I asked for. What I want is your number.” Liam was starting to feel a little annoyed. He had been working since this morning. All he wanted was to finish his work shift so he could go home and rest. But instead, he had to deal with a troublesome customer.“Sir, I am only your waiter and nothing more”Liam gasped as the man pulled him towards him.“Excuse me?! What do you think you're doing?!”The man chuckled. “Taking what I want obviously.” Liam tried to pull away but the man was stronger than him. The man’s strong grip was starting to form bruises as he held him in place.“Let Go!” Liam pushed away from the man, punching him in the face. The man scoffed. His lip was busted and his eye was swollen. The man looked at Liam with a murderous gaze. His eyes were glowing red. Just as the man was about to lay a punch on him, his boss stood in the way. He caught his hand before it could even strike, twisting it behind his back, causing the man to groan in pain. “Sir, I don’t accept harassment or violence in my restaurant. So, if you would kindly leave, that would be great. Or by all means, order some food and behave yourself.” Liam looked at one of his colleagues who had called his boss as soon as he was aware of the situation. Liam’s boss let the man’s hand go. They watched as he scurried out of the restaurant mumbling cursed words.“Sorry everyone for the disturbance. Please continue as was.”Liam looked towards his boss. “Thank you so much Mr. Dome”His boss rolled his eyes. “How many times have I told you to drop the Mr. and just call me Alexander? It makes me feel old.”“Sorry Mr- I mean Alexander”He just smiled, shaking his head. “By the way, are you hurt? Those bruises look pretty bad. How about you come to my office so I can patch you?”Liam looked at the clock that hung on the wall just above the employee room. “No. I’m alright. I’ll just handle it when I get home. Thank you for your concern. I’ll be getting back to work now.” Alexander nodded “Of course. Enjoy the rest of your day.”Liam got back to work, taking orders and cleaning tables. As he entered the kitchen, handing the customer’s orders to the chef, he saw Sharon talking to a few other employees, who he recognized as Becky and Lily. He vaguely heard Sharon mention vampires. That caught his attention for sure.Sharon was one of the weird people too. She loved anything that had something to do with BL fanfiction. Liam had previously learned what that was from a conversation they had when Sharon was doing her daily life snooping. To say she was excited when she found out Liam was gay would be an understatement. She always exaggerates everything, but who was he to judge?“There’s this nightclub called Blood Bank. I heard there were vampires there. It's where kinky things go down.”Becky looked at Sharon questionly. “Yeah right, that's just a rumor.”Sharon huffed. “No, it’s not. I have a friend who recently went. She saw it for herself. She told me they drink actual blood.”Lily shrugged “And how do you know she didn’t lie just for the fun of it.”Sharon crossed her arm across her chest, annoyed. “She wouldn’t do that. If you think I’m lying, how about you go see for yourself.”Liam walked away, not wanting to hear the restLiam had a pretty eventful day. He wanted nothing more than to snuggle in his bed. Liam quickly left. But he couldn’t help but think about that man’s eyes. They were glowing? They were glowing…glowing Red. Or maybe he was just hallucinating. Maybe it was his eyes playing tricks on him. There was no way his eyes were glowing red. He just needed more rest. He hadn’t been sleeping properly. Maybe it was the effects of the sleeping pills he had taken.Liam entered his house, surprised to see his best friend chilling on his couch. “John? What are you doing at my house? How did you get in here?”“Li, you left your bedroom window open again. You should stop doing that. What if some creature is out to get you?”Liam sat down beside John. “Creature? Really John? How many times have I told you to stop watching those Sci-fi movies and reading those supernatural mangas? That stuff can ruin your brain.”John sighed, munching on his buttered popcorn. “Yeah, yeah. But you know I can’t help it. It intrigues me…Oh! And speaking of creatures. I heard about this vampire nightcl-”Liam sighed heavily. “This again? What is it with this vampire nightclub? Why does everyone keep mentioning it?”John grinned widely. “If you're so curious..why don't you come to check it out with me?”I laughed in his face like he was crazy. “You're kidding, right? I don’t go to clubs. You know this already.” John groaned in annoyance. “You need to get out and have some fun. You only live one life.” I got up from the couch and went to the kitchen to heat the leftover pasta from yesterday. “Well, that’s not my type of fun.” He shrugged his shoulders. “You’re such a stick in the mud. But whatever, suit yourself. I’m going tomorrow after work to check it out myself.” I nodded. “Yeah, you do that.” I sat at the kitchen table eating my pasta watching as he wiggled excitedly in his seat. “I can’t wait. I wonder if they fit their stereotype. Pale skin, formal clothing, knife-sharp fingernails, pearly white fangs, and super speed. Maybe I can find myself a vampire boyfriend. That would be so cool!” I chuckled at his excitement. “Go for it. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Feel free to use the guest room. You know where everything is.” I placed my plate in the sink. I sat in the chair sitting beside the bed. “Liam, is t-that you?” I sighed, running my fingers through his hair. “Yeah, it's me JJ. What happened to you?” John chuckled lightly, hissing in pain as he did. “It's a long story” I nodded. “I’ll be here for however long you need.”He looked at me with hooded eyes, taking shallow breaths. “It happened at the nightclub. I walked in. Nothing seemed shady. It was a normal club. Maybe it was just a rumor. At least that's what I thought. But I wish I never would have gone. People were looking at me weirdly, but I didn’t think much of it at first. I walked to the bar. The men sitting beside me were side-eyeing. It was starting to creep me out. “Excuse me, I’d like a margarita!” The bartender looked at me in amusement. “We don’t serve those here.” “I’ll have a Cosmopolitan then.” “Don’t have it.” “Moscow?” “Nope” “Old fashioned?” “No” What kind of bar doesn’t serve these common beverages? “What do you have then?” He eyed me up and do
John’s eyes widened as he sat up straight ignoring the immense pain that shot through his spine. “No! You aren’t going! If you go, you’ll get hurt! And I don’t want to see you get hurt!” I huffed angrily. “How do you think I feel right now? When I got that call from the hospital receptionist telling me you were admitted here, I didn't know what to do. My brain stopped working. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I feel useless as I sit here and watch as you try to hide your pain from me. Do you think I don't see the small movements you make to try and ease the pain?! It hurts me to see you so beat up. I can’t stand seeing you like this!” The glare in John’s eyes softened. “Which is why I don’t want you to go. I know I’m being selfish by asking you not to go and just act as if nothing happened. I can only imagine how you feel right now. I honestly don’t want to be in your position right now. If I had to endure this again just so you wouldn’t have to, then I would. So, please don’
I didn’t know why he was calling me to the office, but I quickly nodded. I did not want to make the situation worse. Hopefully, it wasn’t to talk about all the mistakes I had previously made today. Did the customers complain? We walked into his office. I stood awkwardly, looking around. He nodded his head toward the chairs. “Take a seat.” I hesitantly sat down as he sat on the front of his desk looking at me. “Mr. Alber. Tell me. What is your problem today?” I looked everywhere but his eyes, trying to come up with a good excuse. But my mind once again betrayed me as it went blank. “Is it perhaps because of yesterday’s event?”I snapped my head up looking at him in surprise. Did he know? Did he see me yesterday? Or am I just overthinking it?“What do you mean?” I asked, acting dumbfounded. He smirked. “Don’t play me for a fool. You were at the club last night.”He saw me!“You must have mistaken me for someone else Mr. Dome.” He shook his head. “No. I know I am not mistaken. I sm
