Chp 13 Pt. 4 The Fairies

Maliyah is so happy right now with meeting the unicorns and the pegasus. She is very fascinated with the hippocampus in the water and meeting the merfolk. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen her relaxed. Even when we are riding I can see her anxiety for her sister. I see Cedar walking up to us out of the corner of my eye. I need to stop him from reaching Maliyah. I never considered the possibility of meeting a seer while here in the fairy realm and I am sure it was my future with Maliyah he saw.

“Maliyah, stay here. Don’t wander. I am going to go talk to Cedar real quick.”

Maliyah smiles at me with those warm, innocent eyes. I know elves don’t have fate mates but I feel the pull towards her making me feel like I need to protect her. It’s not a lustful pull like shifters get when they find their mates but like a little sister that I need to protect from the bullies who want to hurt her.

“Okay Aspen. I promise I will stay here by the water.”
