Maliyah
I can’t believe after everything that happened on my birthday, I am being forced to go back to school today. I really don’t want to. I’d rather train and prepare or the next attack. My parents and Aspen insist that I do. Something about getting back into my old routine and seeing my friends again. I have been awake for a few hours but I still groan when I hear a knock at my door.
“Maliyah, it’s time to get up and get ready,” says mom.
“I’m up,” I grumble.
Mom sighs before turning on my light and shutting my door. I huff as I throw the blankets off of me and head to my bathroom. I let the hot water cascade down my back, staying in the shower until the water starts to get cold. I straighten my hair and throw on some basic jeans and a tee shirt before heading downstairs.
My stomach rumbles at the smell of french toast on the stove. I toss my backpack by the front door before heading to the
MaliyahI know for a fact that Britney has been training to become a warrior in the pack. She’s a great fighter, I’ll give her that, but she is suppose to use her skills to protect her pack and those weaker than her, not beat the living hell out of them. Her behavior brings shame down on my father. The young wolf is obviously not a fighter. He’s doing his best to block Britney’s attacks but has not been able to throw one punch. Britney throws a punch straight at his nose. I can hear the bone crunch as her knuckles connect, breaking it. Blood gushes everywhere. The young wolf falls to the ground and she prepares to kick him while he’s down but before her foot connects with his head, I have a vine wrapped around her ankle and yank her to the ground.“What the hell Maliyah? Let me go!”“I would expect someone who wants to be a future warrior of this pack would treat her fellow pack mates with more respect,” I re
DerekI have been slaving away at my desk and when I am not at my desk I’m training with my warriors to ensure they’re all ready for the upcoming war. Davina has been busy as well with her pack duties and with the dragons. I am deep in thought when I hear my phone start ringing.“This is Derek.”“Hello Alpha, I am sorry to disturb you but I have Maliyah here with me. Could you and/or the Luna come down to the school?”“Is she alright?”“She’s fine Alpha, but she did get into a physical altercation with another student.”“What?! I want to know exactly what happened! If she is hurt in any way there will be hell to pay. We just got her back! You both better be there when I arrive!”“Yes Alpha. We will be here Alpha,” Mr. Ted replies.I hang up the phone and storm out of my office.&ldquo
DavinaI have always taught my daughters violence isn’t the answer. I never would have expected Maliyah to get into a fight at school. I understand her wanting to stick up for those that are weaker against bullies but using her powers is unacceptable. We just got her back. I watch as Maliyah storms out of the house. Derek stops me from going after her while he mind links Aspen, I assume.“Aspen will follow her. You two need to calm down.”“Derek we just got her back after being in a coma from using her powers.”“You can’t stop her from using them. It’s a part of who she is and she’s trying to find her place in this world that doesn’t have her sister in it. You both are.”I hate when he is right and I hate admitting I’m wrong. I sigh as we watch her head straight for the barn. I know it’s her one happy place.“W
DavinaI sigh, watching Maliyah ride off with Aspen and Ada. She has been more confrontational lately and now getting into fights at school. I can remember when I was carrying Maliyah and her sister. I was so frightened of the world I would be raising them in but still had envisioned such a happy life for us. Even if it remained only us, we were happy. I sometimes feel guilty over these thoughts. I love Derek fiercely and the children we’ve had together, I’ll never regret having them in our lives. I just miss the simply life and running the restaurant at times.“What’s got you thinking so hard darling?”I look up and see my uncle Gabriel. He pulls me into an embrace, always knowing what I need in the moment.“I don’t regret having any of my children or being with Derek, but I miss our simply life in the restaurant at
DavinaI wake extra early to ensure everything is taken care of while we are gone. I am sitting on our back porch having some coffee and reflecting. I can’t believe almost five years ago I was just living my life as a normal human, running my family’s restaurant and raising my daughters. I was completely oblivious to the fact that all my employees were werewolves and that my uncle is a warlock. Life was simple and easy back then. There are times I miss it but I wouldn’t have the twins or Aiden had my life not been changed when meeting Derek.I often wonder would Alastor still have found me if I never met Derek, though I know the answer. The seal would’ve only suppressed my powers for so long. I would have eventually learned about this world sooner or later. I tend to rub my left leg from time to time. It seems weird having my leg back after believing I would be wearing a prosthetic t
DavinaAs soon as we arrive in France, Luna Camille greets us. She looks exhausted as if she hasn’t slept in days.“Camille, please give me the authority to act as Alpha while I am here. I will take a look at your borders and ensure your warriors are ready.”“You have my permission. I have mind linked the pack that you are standing in as Alpha until Andre returns.”She visibly seems to relax, happy to have an Alpha here to help her. I look at her stomach as she runs her hand over it. I didn’t realize she is pregnant.“Camille, where is your pack doctor. All this stress must not be good for the baby.”“I haven’t even had the chance to tell Andre we are expecting. We’ve been trying for so long.”Luna Camille breaks down in tears. Maliyah and I help her inside and find her doctor to give her a check up. Thankfully the
DavinaLuna Camille has not been feeling well. I’ve been nervous to teleport her in her condition and her flock won’t leave without her so we’ve been stuck here for two days. Today is the first time Camille has gotten out of bed to eat. That is more that we had hoped. Losing your mate often kills you but we think the fact that she is pregnant is what is keeping her moving.“How is she today,” Derek mind links me.“She’s up, out of bed and eating.”“That’s good love. We need to move as soon as possible.”“Why? What’s wrong?”“There has been an increase in humans disappearing around these parts. I’m concerned they will attack again.”Derek is right. The longer we stay here the more likely they will find out we are here and attack. I send for the pack doctor to check over Camille again. I need her to be stronger so we can get out of here
DavinaDerek rushes outside immediately to aid in the attack. I am glad we’ve been preparing for one, our warriors and the flock warriors have quickly become in sync with one another. I need to ensure uncle has everything he needs before I aid my daughter.“Are you sure we are going to lose them both,” asks Beta Henri.“Yes Beta. The loss is too much for our Luna,” Dr. Clement replies.“My uncle assures me this will work, we just need a willing female to be the surrogate,” I explain.“My mate has already agreed to be the surrogate. We don’t have any pups yet. The young Alpha will be well loved and we will ensure he is prepared to take over the flock when he comes of age,” Beta Henri replies.I hear Terra roar from the skies again as the battle outside ensues.“Uncle, how quickly can you get this done? We need to get out o
