Davina
I didn’t think it would be so hard to have my story told again. It was definitely necessary that prince Aspen be aware of what has happened from start to finish. Derek squeezes my hand in support while prince Aspen is given a quick run down. It was even harder listening to prince Aspen tell us of Malayah killing again.
We need to find her fast before he makes her do it again. Derek is excited to finally have this treaty completed. He told me it was a task his father was going to give him before everything happened. I am glad we were able to accomplish this. Now we have more warriors and trackers looking for our daughter. I think it’s time I arrange to go meet the dragons.
“Prince Aspen?”
“Please Davina, just Aspen,” he smiles.
“Alright, Aspen. Would you be able to arrange for me to travel to your realm? I would like to meet with the dragons.”
“I will certainly speak with the dragon elders. Some of them knew your parents Davina.”
“Really?”
“Yes, I’m sure they will have answers to some of your questions.” I look at Derek and smile excitedly.
“What about the children love?”
“After everything that has happened we will be taking them with us. We will not separate again Derek. Is that okay Aspen if we all come? Along with my family it’d be quite a few guards as well.”
“Of course Davina. We have plenty of room. We tend to have a winter solstice ball every year. We would be honored if you joined us. The ball lands on a day you call Thursday, a few days before your Christmas holiday,” prince Aspen replies. I use my telepathy to speak to Derek.
“What do you think Derek?”
“Sounds likes a wonderful idea. It’ll be good to meet the dragons,” he replies.
“Aspen we would be honored to join you for the holidays,” I inform him.
“Is that all everyone,” asks Derek. No one speaks up. “Alright then I appreciate everyone’s time and we will see y’all at the next meeting.” Everyone starts to file out of the room when prince Aspen stops us.
“Derek, Davina may I have a moment of your time in private.” Derek and I look at each other.
“Of course Aspen. Maliyah head upstairs and start and get ready for bed. We will be up there shortly,” says Derek. “Please lets talk in my office.” Derek leads me and Aspen to his office as everyone else heads home.
“I appreciate you speaking to me in private. This is not a matter I wanted discussed in front of everyone as it has to do with your daughter, Maliyah.”
“What about her,” Derek asks.
“I have been visited by Ryuu’s spirit. He has informed me your daughter has a choice but he would like the elves and dragons be bonded through marriage.”
“Aspen, Maliyah is way too young for marriage,” I say.
“I understand Davina and I would not want to force her into an arranged marriage. My father has agreed to this and when the time comes I would like permission to court your daughter for her hand. It would be completely our choice. If she rejects me Ryuu has a mate chosen for her. Also should I end up finding another before she comes of age she would still have a mate chosen for her. She has already shown her incredible strength in her training and this would bond our people for life however, love needs to be a part of the relationship. I will not force her or myself into this if we do not love each other.”
“And what do you see as an appropriate age,” asks Derek. I can feel he is not all to happy talking about this.
“Eighteen of course. That is when a silver dragon comes into their powers. Typically anyway. Ten years is nothing to me. For now I will simply be a friend and another guard to ensure her safety. I can also train her as a warrior the way we elves are trained.”
“Please allow Davina and I to discuss this. We will give you our answer when we visit for the winter solstice,” says Derek.
“Of course. It’s a lot to consider. I will now retire for the evening. Thank you for your time.” Aspen leaves and heads to the room prepared for him. Derek growls in frustration.
“Easy Derek. I don’t like the idea of marriage right now either since she’s eight but he’s talking about ten years down the road and only if she wants this. I don’t see the harm in agreeing to this. It’ll give her more protection and more skills to protect herself. If she falls in love then great. If not she’ll find a mate.”
“As long as it’s completely her choice and she’s not sexually active until she gets married. Prince or not, I’ll kill him if he lays a hand on her before she’s married.” I laugh at Derek’s protectiveness. “What is so funny?”
“You sound like a typically overprotective father,” I reply kissing him on the cheek.
“Maliyah agreed to train with Mark without using her powers. She wants to kick his ass,” Derek chuckles.
“Well if she can beat Mark it’ll make me feel better that’s for sure. We should let Aspen know he can at least train with Maliyah. We will let him know of our decision when we visit the elf realm.”
“Sounds good love.”
We head to the formal dining room for our family dinner. Everyone is present. Keila with Owen and Braydon, Mark with Daniela and Jackson, my mother, Gabriel, the twins and Maliyah. We even invited Aspen to dinner since he is our house guest and Daniel with his mate Tanisha since he is Daniela’s brother.
Our family has gotten so big and there is so much love. I feel guilt and sadness that Malayah is not here with us. We are not whole without her and it’s hard to feel joy when she is in so much pain.
“Are you sure it’s okay I join you and your family for dinner,” asks Aspen.
“Of course Aspen. And if you are still willing we would like you to train Maliyah along with Mark. We do want her to be able to protect herself should she end up in a situation where she can’t use her powers,” I reply.
“I would be honored to train your daughter.”
We all take our seats and Derek says grace. Miss Kat made a little something for everybody. A delicious salad, steaks, baked potatoes, various vegetables, Salmon, white rice and even shrimp and grits. I don’t know what we would do without her amazing cooking. I’ll have to check on how things are going with her niece and how the restaurant is doing. I have neglected it far too long.
“Hey Mark, dad said you are going to train me. Prepare, I am a fast learner and I’m going to kick your butt,” says Maliyah. There is laughter from everybody.
“We will see about that. No one has bested me yet lil miss, besides your father,” chuckles Mark.
“Maliyah, Aspen has also offered to teach you the skills he has learned as well. The elves are very skilled in hand to hand combat and archery,” says Derek.
“Really!? Will you also teach me to use a bow? I think it would be cool to know how to use one,” Maliyah asks Aspen.
“You will be the best archer in your realm once we finish your training,” Aspen replies with a smile.
“Awesome,” Maliyah says smiling.
She really is excited. I notice Derek smiling at Maliyah and I. I can feel he is happy. I know we are still far from okay but it’s nice to see everyone smiling and hear laughter for a change. I’m sure we need this more. Aspen shares some stories of his adventures throughout his years, even some stories of him, his father, Derek’s father, my brother and my biological father getting into trouble together. These stories make me laugh. It’s nice to hear stories about my family. I don’t know much about my parents.
“Your brother, Alastor, was my very best friend Davina. I can’t count how many times we got into trouble that our father’s did not approve of. I wish I was older to fight harder for the elves to have come to your aid. We would still be getting into trouble and he might of electrocuted Derek a few times to ensure he treated you right.” We all laugh at that. It would be nice to have an older protective brother around.
“Don’t worry Davina, I’ll put Derek in his place if ever need be,” says Mark. He has been the best at filling in the role of big brother for me. He is technically younger but I’ll take what I can get.
“In your dreams Mark, I’d like to see you put me on my ass,” Derek replies.
“Little challenge then tomorrow before I train Maliyah?”
“You’re on little brother.” I roll my eyes at them and laugh.
“Pay them no mind Aspen,” I say laughing.
“It’s fine Davina. I’m sure if I had a brother we would be the same,” Aspen replies laughing.
Everyone finishes their dinner and retires for the evening. Derek and I bathe the twins before putting them down for the night. We tuck Maliyah in bed and read a story. I feel bad we haven’t done this in months. As we leave Maliyah’s room, I look down the hall at Malayah’s room and the guilt hits me again. Derek takes my hand.
“I know love. Stay with me please,” Derek pleas.
I’m torn as I have been staying in Malayah’s room never leaving. I squeeze Derek’s hand and nod at him. He leads me through our room to the bathroom. He’s gentle ensuring not to push me to far. He turns the shower on and strips his clothes off before getting in. I take my clothes off and join him. We have’t been intimate in months and I feel bad I pushed him away. I step into the water with my head down. I feel self conscious for some reason. Derek takes his hand and places it under my chin, gentling raising my head to look at him.
“Beautiful,” he says and leans in for a gentle kiss.
He’s gentle not pushing for more. A fire wakens inside of me and I deepen the kiss. He pulls me closer, grabbing my ass as he growls needing more. We both need more. Without breaking our kiss, Derek shuts the water off and picks me up. I wrap my legs around his waist and he carries me to the bedroom. He gentle lays me down on the bed, hovering over me. He turns his attention to my breast, teasing one with his mouth and the other with his hand. I grab a fist full of his hair and moan.
“Derek, please,” I beg knowing neither one of us really wants to wait any longer.
He slips inside me making us both gasp. He growls trying to control himself to go gentle. We can do that another time. “Derek, please,” I beg again.
He begins going fast and all you can hear is our moans and skin slapping against each other. I can feel more core tighten as he drives me closer to an orgasm. I can tell he is close to his as he picks up the pace. I reach my limit screaming in pleasure and he follows me.
I then force him to flip onto his back and I straddle him sliding him inside me. He rips the sheets as his claws become exposed as I begin riding him hard and fast. He grabs my hips while matching my rhythm, slamming into me. I doesn’t take long for us to reach our limit again. I slow down as I ride the wave of my orgasm and he empty’s himself in me again. I collapse on top of him leaving him inside me. He wraps his arm around me, kissing my forehead.
“I’ve missed you love.” I sniffle and a tear falls on his chest. He sits up making me look at him. “Davina, what’s wrong.”
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry I checked out and left you to take care of the kids. I’m sorry I’ve ignored you and made you sleep alone these past months. I’ve been a horrible mother, wife and luna.”
“Shhh. Love everyone grieves in their own way. You were and are grieving. You are here now and that is what matters.” He moves me off of him so we can cuddle. He pulls the blankets over us and kisses the back of my shoulder. It’s as if nothing changed. I don’t know what I did to deserve him. I slowly drift off to sleep, hoping for a better tomorrow.
Maliyah I have never heard mom’s story before. She’s been through so much and it’s still not over. I have been trying for months to communicate with Malayah using our telepathy powers. Dimitri said we are twins so it should be more powerful that just mom trying to communicate with her. He even helped me to communicate when someone is in another realm. But so far it hasn’t been working. I get nothing. Derek still keeps the seal on my window so I can’t sneak out but at this point I wouldn’t. I don’t want to give Enzo more ammo against my parents. That and I already hurt a few of my guard and Derek trying to use my powers to break the seal open. I don’t want to hurt anyone else. I am super stoked to have prince Aspen train me. I know learning their skills will definitely give me what I need to kick uncle Mark’s butt. I have already mastered my powers like mom so it would be no fun beating him that way. I need to beat him at what he is good at, hand to hand combat. With Aspen leading
Derek The next morning I called an emergency council meeting. Ordering everyone to be present. Maliyah was distraught last night and she couldn’t sleep so we had her sleep in the twins room. She felt more comfortable being near her siblings. I am glad we keep a twin bed in there. It took me a while to even calm Davina down. She wanted to leave immediately and rush to South America. I told her we didn’t have an exact location just which continent she is on. That doesn’t give us a lot to go on and we needed to come up with a plan. It’s early so I had Miss Kat do a easy buffet style breakfast for those who are physically present. No one is going to be able to think clearly on an empty stomach. “Thank you all for coming so early this morning. Please help yourself to some breakfast. Alphas I appreciate you being available despite the time difference.” “It sounded extremely important. What is going on,” asks alpha Damon. “Late last night Maliyah informed me she had been able to make co
Maliyah I am not happy with mom and dad wanting me to basically abandon my sister but Aspen has a point. I don’t want to give Enzo the chance to control me and my powers. That would be bad. I really hope he can find this flower so I can talk to her again. Even if it’s only one more time. Dad leaves to get some work done in his office and mom goes to check on the twins. Leaving me alone with my guards, uncle Mark and Aspen. “You still up for a little ass kicking,” uncle Mark teases me. “Bring it on,” I giggle. “I’ll just be observing today Maliyah. I want to see how you fight. It’ll give me a better idea on how to teach you,” says Aspen. “You are very use to using your powers when you are training. This training will also teach you better control of your emotions when you get angry so you don’t lose control of your powers. We will also be hitting gym every morning together. You need some muscle on those little arms of yours.” “My arms are not little.” Uncle Mark looks at me with
Davina I am in the twin’s nursery when I hear shouting and Derek giving out orders. He sounds so angry and worried at the same time. I put Accalia down in the play area and walk towards the door. Calista puts Thierry down with Accalia. “What on earth is going on,” asks Calista. “Davina!” I hear Derek call my name making me rush faster. I rip open the door and see Mark carrying Maliyah. She’s unconscious and there is dried blood from her eyes, nose and ears. Dimitri has his hands on Maliyah’s head, chanting something. “What happened,” I demand as I follow them to Maliyah’s room. “She was mentally attacked. She appeared to be communicating with someone telepathically. I think Malayah reached out to her first based on Maliyah’s startled expression. We were right, they are using Malayah to get to Maliyah,” says Aspen. I reach for Maliyah as Mark sets her on her bed but Derek stops me. “Don’t love, let Dimitri finish first.” “What is he doing,” I ask. “He’s trying to sever the conn
Davina After weeks of planning and getting things prepared for us to leave, the day finally arrived. We had Carrie make us dresses for the winter ball that is being thrown by the elves and she did amazing as always. Derek asked us not to over pack but looking at all the luggage in the foyer I would say we failed at that task. Between the baby stuff and mine and Maliyah’s luggage we have ten bags. This doesn’t include the Meadow’s household either. I don’t know how Derek only packed one bag for a whole month. “Why is it girls always back so much stuff. Even if we were only going to be gone for a week you would still have this much luggage,” he chuckles shaking his head. “You have four girls Derek. Learn to live with it,” I reply. “Mom! Dad! I’m ready. Are you sure you let the stables know to care for Beauty while I’m gone?” “Of course sweetheart. Beauty will be fine,” Derek replies. “So how are we suppose to travel with all this stuff to another realm,” asks Maliyah. “Well with
Derek I think Davina purposely took longer to get ready tonight. I know for a fact she can get ready faster than she has tonight. I’ll definitely get her back for that one. I slowly walk to Maliyah’s door. I cringe as I knock not wanting to know what lies on the other side. “Maliyah? You ready to go?” “Almost!” “Can I come in?” “Yeah, I’m dressed!” I cautiously open the door and find all her dresses she brought laid out on her bed and the mountain of shoes she brought with her all over the floor. Maliyah walks out of the bathroom in a beautiful rose colored dress. It’s a spaghetti strap and the front comes all the way up to her collar bone. It has a pretty floral design in the lace at the bottom of the dress. She twirls to show me her dress. “Do you like it?” The back stops at her mid back with this lace design up each of her shoulder blades and ties together between her should blades. “You look beautiful darling.” “I just need to put on my black gladiator sandals and I’ll
Maliyah “I think you’d really like this book Aspen. To Kill A Mockingbird.” “I look forward to reading it. Would you like to meet some people.” “I don’t know, this really isn’t my thing.” “Don’t worry. I’ll be with you the whole time.” Aspen stands holds his hand out for me. I hesitate but eventually take his hand and let him lead me towards the crowd to a group of elves he seems to know. “Hello everyone. Maliyah I’d like to introduce you to Lindir, she’s a long time friend. And this is Rohan and his sister Tauriel. We all grew up together. Everyone this is Maliyah, a silver dragon.” “It’s a pleasure to meet you all,” I greet. “So you are a silver dragon, the youngest one to ever transform,” asks Rohan. “That’s what they tell me,” I reply. “You must be very strong then. I’d love to test your powers against my combat skills,” says Rohan. “Umm…I’ll have to clear that with my parents first but I’d be happy to go one on one with you.” “Ignore him Maliyah. He tries to fight ev
Derek The next morning Davina is up early sitting by the window drawing. I am assuming with last nights events and the meeting with the dragons today she must be quite stressed. “Well that was quite the eventful evening,” I say as I stretch out of bed. “What is King Bjarki going to do to the girl,” asks Davina. “I don’t know. Don’t worry love, he doesn’t execute his people just because they said something stupid. He may force her to be a maid for a certain length of time which to someone of high ranking as Lindir would be the end of the world to her.” “Maliyah is only eight and her emotions, especially anger, get the better of her. I’d hate to see what happens when we hit the teenage years with her.” “I am not ready to think about that yet love. With that age comes boys and I’m not ready to deal with boys.” “Well if she starts to take a liking to Prince Aspen that won’t be an issue. He seems like a nice young man.” “It does seem good for her,” I reply. “Have you spoken to Mali
Maliyah“Maliyah, the guests are arriving!”“Coming mom!”I quickly finish doing my hair in a half up pony tail style and curl it before doing my make up. I can’t believe it’s been almost five years since the war ended and here we are, celebrating my sixteenth birthday. I stop by my nightstand with my sister’s picture and use my powers to make the flowers in the vase bloom again.“Happy birthday sis,” I whisper as I head for the door.I throw on my Ariat boots, hoping towards the door as I put on one at a time. I almost collide with my door trying to put on my last boot as I grab the handle to open the door only to end up running into Aspen. I nearly fall backwards onto the floor, but Aspen reaches out and catches my arm to steady me.
DavinaI wake with a start that it startles Derek. Sweat is dripping down my face as Derek gently cups my face.“What’s wrong love,” he says looking around the room for an intruder.“I got to say goodbye to Malayah,” I whisper. He looks at me confused.“Okay, but what has you so scared?”I turn to Derek, making sure he is listening carefully. Worry is evident on his face as I take deep breaths to calm my racing heart. I need someone else to know what she told me.“Malayah said, ‘Beware of the new comer, darkness will come for her’.”“What does that even mean?”“I don’t know. I don’t even know exactly who she was talking about, but I think it’s Maliyah. I think she was talking about Maliyah and whoever Maliyah saw in t
DavinaThe twins have fallen asleep, Thierry on Derek, Accalia on Calista and Aiden in my arms. Everyone begins going home and we had back into the pack house. We lay the kids down for bed as does Mark and Daniela. It’s nice to see the children together, safe and sound and back to what was once normal. Things may not go back to what they were but we can find a new normal for our family. The last thing I do is prepare a room for my mother with the help of Kat and Daniela. We put her next to Calista as they seem to have hit it off and have become fast friends. I am over the moon that I get to have this opportunity to get to know my mother and learn more about my family. There is so much I don’t know. With mom back in the picture, it seems to have changed things for Kat. Now that Kat has been spending time with our mother and her granddaughter
DavinaWhen we all heard Derek and Maliyah playing I immediately mind link the whole pack to meet at the memorial. Our family gathered at it’s entrance, tears forming in our eyes. I haven’t heard her play in a long time. As pack members began arriving I open the back doors so they can hear too and started passing out candles and lighting them. Once everyone has a candle, I teleport Maliyah and Derek next to the memorial and they don’t miss a note. Families begin stepping up to the memorial and placing beautiful flower arrangements at the base.Dimitri utters a spell under his breath and tells me the flowers will never die, they will remain frozen in time. Celestia and Calista help pass out the Chinese sky lanterns and pens so everyone can write a message or just the name of a loved one that has been lost. I make one for my uncle Gabriel and parents that raised me as they now have no one le
MaliyahI can’t believe what I woke up to. Dr. Smith has been examining me and taking MRI’s of my brain. I am still in shock at everything I am being told. Mom and dad tell me everything I appear to be forgetting. We take several breaks as I am constantly crying over things I have forgotten.I remember some of the information they are telling me but not all of it. After a while I did start to remember the day my sister died but it still doesn’t feel real. I don’t remember being in a coma before and waking up to having another little brother. Uncle Kale died as well as uncle Gabriel and I haven’t been able to accept that yet.Uncle Gabriel has been around all my life, even before I learned what I was. I never imagined I would have to live my life without him.“Ma
DavinaWe’ve been in the dragon realm for the past week; going back and forth to the forbidden realm to explore it more. We want to ensure we had all he details, which Dimitri has written down so we won’t ever forget this day we now call The Day of Retaliation. It’ll always be a day we will mourn as many loved ones were lost that day, but we fought back against my brother and won. I wish there would’ve been another way, but my brother was too far gone. Once we were sure we didn’t miss anything, Dimitri and his coven sealed the realm away forever. The shifter counsel all agreed that it will be against our laws to step foot into that realm so it was best to seal it away to stop temptation. The horse shifters have been learning about the human world as it has changed a lot than from what their ancestors had told them. Technology is a new thing for them and they will remain on bear
DavinaIt’s finally over. It’s been six years since Derek came into my life and my world was turned upside down. Six years after finding out I was not at all human. My heart mourns for those that I have lost in all that time. The parents that raised me, my uncle Gabriel, Thierry who was like a second uncle to me and my biological parents though I didn’t even know it yet.My heart hurts for my sister. She has been an empty shell since we killed Alastor. She remains at Kale’s side though his soul is no longer attached to his body. He’s gone and there is nothing I can really do to comfort her.“Mom, let’s get you something to eat and drink. Please,” begs River but Kat doesn’t respond. She continues to stare at his body and grasp his hand. I think
Davina The minute Maliyah became unconscious her swirl of power dissipated. I drop the sphere of wind and see the zombie creatures are dropping one by one. I rush to Maliyah’s side in a panic with Kat right at my heals. “Maliyah!” Her head is bleeding badly and she is not responding at all. I quickly teleport her to Dr. Smith. “What happened,” asks Dr. Smith. “She hit her head on a rock and I am afraid she used more power than she can handle.” Kat pulls me away from Maliyah to give Dr. Smith room to work and I reluctantly back away. “Davina!” I look up and see Mark and Derek running into the tent. I can feel he is just as scared as I am right now. “Thank Ryuu you are okay. What happened to Maliyah?”
Davina “Maliyah we need you,” I yell through the mind link. Kat and I are trying to finish this once and for all but we both know we won’t win without Maliyah. Alastor creates a sphere of wind around him, pushing Kat and I off of him. I quickly search the field for Maliyah and instantly see what she is doing. Her vision of Derek and Mark dying, it’s happening. “We need Maliyah,” says Kat through the link. “She is needed else where right now. We need to keep him distracted long enough for her to accomplish what is needed and return to us,” I reply. Kat doesn’t question what I mean. We trust each other completely and I know we can hold him off until Maliyah comes back. “You two are a thorn in my side. It’s time for me to be an only child,” growls out Alastor. I know we a
