"Since you're on my territory, there's no reason for you to stay at a hotel. Besides, you didn't bring anything with you and don't even have your ID. How will you check in?"

Those were just excuses—Quinn could still check in even without an ID.

"Don't worry, I won't touch you."

Worry? The way Xavier looked at her was as if he wanted to devour her. She couldn't relax at all.

"I'm telling the truth. I promise."

Quinn ignored him. Xavier got out of the car, opened the umbrella, and walked to her side to help her open the car door.

"Come on. Let's go shower and get some good rest."

Quinn got out of the car. The rain was heavier now. With only one umbrella, Xavier almost pulled Quinn into his arms.

It was raining, and the temperature had dropped sharply. Quinn's body temperature was low, but Xavier's embrace was warm enough.

He took her to the living room and was drenched halfway through, while Quinn's pants were only a bit wet.
