Quinn looked vulnerable in that moment, but only Xavier would know that she was a crazy woman. Her duality enthralled him, and he wanted to claim her for himself so he could explore all the secrets she carried.

When the water became lukewarm, he moved the glass closer to her lips. "Be careful. It's a bit hot."

"I can drink it myself." Over the years, she had gradually grown to be independent in all matters. She was no longer the pampered little princess she used to be.

Since the water was still hot, she blew on it and took a small sip. She had wanted to add a bit of iced water to the glass, but she dismissed the idea, knowing Xavier would probably nag at her.

"Are you hungry? Eric made some supper. You can have some of it if you're hungry."

"I don't have the habit of taking supper." In the past five years, she had been busy working on herself and getting the best medical treatment for Lisa. She had also been making plans to take her revenge. She'd had no time for supper.
