Quinn hadn't had this nightmare in a long time. Everything about it made her throat constrict.

She had dreamt about the time she and Lisa had been dumped in the borderlands. Back then, Lisa had been a beautiful woman who had been forced into insanity, while Quinn had been a pretty 15-year-old girl.

It had been challenging for the two to survive in such a cruel, unforgiving place.

Xavier felt like someone had stabbed him and twisted a knife into his heart when he saw the tears on Quinn's face. He leaned in, kissing the teardrops on her face one by one.

Every muscle in Quinn's body stiffened. She had never imagined that Xavier could do that. His warm lips kissed away every tear on her face.
