Serena’s POV:After she told me all about Charles and my mother’s past, I understood why she never cared for me. My sister and I were never meant to be born. It was an accident for her, and she regretted it every single day."I am glad you came here. Arlene came here a few months ago, and she told me what Charles had been doing to her. I knew Charles had become a shitty person, but I didn’t know he had become such a big asshole. I saw you, girls, when you were only babies, so I don’t know how he thought developing feelings for a child who grew up in front of him was normal. I did help her and looking at you, I can tell it worked. But I do believe you two sisters are still fighting against evil. I just wish this all ends one day," she said, wishing us luck, and I watched her sleepily yawn. I realized we had taken up more of her time than was necessary."Thank you so much for helping my sister. When all this is over, I promise to come here with Arlene and have lunch with you." I said as
"What?" I asked, almost stunned by his decision. I was expecting him to be so cold toward me. I understand I never noticed him prior to the body swap, and that was because Daxon never let me. I was never allowed to have words with anyone or walk around without Daxon’s permission or his company. It's not like I ever felt a romantic connection with him before."That’s the only way to prevent making any mistakes," he shrugged, looking very relaxed when talking about rejecting his fated mate."And that doesn’t bother you? I mean, you are talking about rejecting me. It is not a small thing." I can’t tell how offensive I sounded, but I was mad at him for doing that to me. I really thought we were connecting."But it is important. I don’t want Arlene to wake up and find out while she's sleeping. I created a bond with her sister," he said, raising his voice a little too loud."Fine. Go ahead, reject me then. But I am telling you, you will regret," I sounded mean, I knew. But at the moment, he
After talking about that night, Reynard made me sit down and discuss everything with him. I didn’t hold in any information this time and even told him all about Daxon’s kidnapping and what he told me about his plans, and even my mother and uncle’s plans. It was hard talking to him about how my family only saw me as an object and would get rid of me soon, but Reynard being by my side helped me calm down a lot.We ended up deciding to stay in a motel for the night instead of driving back home. And I didn’t argue because I wanted to spend some hours with him. Finally, I am not pretending to be anyone other than his mate."Are you comfortable?" Reynard asked, wrapping a blanket around my shoulders and sitting beside me by a fireplace."It is cold in here," I complained, rubbing my palms together and staring at the fire. He didn’t say much, but steadily picked up the blanket from one side and slid inside, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me over his chest. His closeness made
"I will have the most perfect mating ceremony for us," Reynard said, hugging me from the back. We took a shower and sat next to the fireplace after we were done."Reynard! I really want to help my sister first. I don’t think I can be happy while she is in so much distress," I sighed, talking about how the council will take her away now that she will wake up."I will help you in whatever way I can," Reynard said."Do you think she too will get a wolf now that I got it too?" I asked, and he tightened his arms around my body."I hope so. But we need to focus on exposing Charles, Lady Adra, and Daxon, just in case Arlene wakes up with no wolf." He explained why we needed to focus on putting them on trial."You know, she kept my body safe from Daxon after marriage. Everyone always portrays her as my enemy. Little did I know they were the real enemies." I closed my eyes to let out a sigh. I turned around and hid my face in Reynard’s chest after the recalling of Arlene’s messed up life flash
After breakfast ended, I went back to Arlene’s room to wait for the right time before talking to Uncle Charles about Arlene.I had a few things on my mind. My mother has done all these messed up things, relying on Uncle Charles. If I somehow create a misunderstanding between them, only then will I be able to take out one of them. Since all three of them were not entirely loyal to each other and had different plans and ambitions, I needed to take them out individually."Serena! Do you have a minute?" Mom called from outside the door, making me wonder what she would be up to now."Sure, come inside," I voiced, instantly sitting near the dressing table and combing my hair."I wanted to speak to you about a few things." She walked inside with a sad expression on her face. I could tell she had been really worried ever since I started acting up and Charles began to take my side."I am free. What is it about?" I questioned, keeping my eyes on the mirror but watching her reflection too."It i
I have been brainstorming about what mom said to me. There was no way I could allow her to marry him without a backup plan. The only reason they kept Arlene was because Charles wanted her. If Charles got over her, he would kill her in a heartbeat when she woke up. Now that Reynard wouldn’t be marrying her, Arlene would be sent back to our mansion, where she was not safe at all. And since they have already portrayed her as someone who is depressed and wants to end her life, her murder would be called a suicide. ‘If you are planning to make this wedding happen, make sure Charles and Adra get into a hate relationship the instant they mark each other,’ Ena suggested. Having her has been truly beneficial to me. Ever since she woke up, she has helped me with whatever she can. ‘That’s what I am thinking about. I need to use something against mom to make Charles see how evil she is,’ I said, rubbing my palms and walking around my room. ‘Who do you think tried poisoning Arlene? I am sure you
"MOOOOM!" I yelled the moment fear embedded itself in my veins. He chuckled in my ear but didn’t mark me."Boo!" he whispered in my ear, and, without marking me, he pulled away from me. I watched him laugh and clap his hands to mock me."What happened, Serena?" Mom rushed out of her room to check on me. When she found us standing in the hallway, she slowed down to pass a quizzical glance at us.She noticed how scared I looked when staring back at Daxon, who was laughing as if he had cracked the best joke of his life."Is everything alright in here?" Mom asked, worried for her only shoulder, her daughter Serena. She wouldn’t want me to get hurt before I helped her in her mating ceremony with Charles."Everything is fine. I was playing a little with her. She is so scared all the time," Daxon finally stopped laughing to comment on me. The way his eyes were stuck in mine was a message he was trying to convey to me.He had scared everyone after he told them he was the alpha, and he will ta
I told Daxon I wanted to see my sister regardless because I didn’t want the council and others to look at me as this mean sister who didn’t even care about her sister. Daxon bought the lie, or at least he pretended to have. He parked the car in the parking lot and got out with me. I found Reynard walking in the garden and waiting for me. The smile from his lips when looking at me faded away when he watched me with Daxon.I wanted to tell him it wasn’t like that, but Daxon wasn’t leaving me alone for a minute."Alpha Daxon!" Reynard approached us with a scorn, "Luna Serena!" When he greeted me, he clenched his jaw because Daxon had just forcefully held my hand.I watched Reynard stare at our hands, and even when I struggled to free myself, Daxon wasn’t taking the hint."She wanted to see her sister," Daxon said. "Which room is she in?" Daxon was the one taking the lead, and I was letting him.I felt terrible, but there was nothing I could do for the time being."She is in the guestroom
Last Chapter:"I, Alpha King Reynard, accept Serena Majestic as my mate and wife," Reynard smiled, holding my hands."I, Serena Majestic, accept you as my mate," I giggled, barely able to look him in the eyes because I was blushing so hard."I, Alpha Kai, accept Arlene as my mate," Kai said, looking happier than he had ever been."I, Arlene Majestic, accept you as my mate," Arlene said, and she instantly started making out with him. Everybody giggled, and soon we were asked to mark each other. Reynard pulled me closer and gently tucked my hair to the side, burying his face in my neck. I felt his tongue moisten the area before he dug his teeth into my skin. He pulled back, and I aimed for his neck. But every time I reached for him, he would pull away, and everybody would start laughing."You don’t want me to mark you in bed, do you?" I teased, "I will be rough," I mimicked a tougher tone, and he smiled.I finally buried my face in his neck and sucked his skin before piercing my teeth t
"Say it again," she demanded, facing me."I love him, Arlene. He is my mate," I repeated myself, hoping she would not disappoint me. Reynard stepped away from her and then smiled."Then go for it," Arlene stepped back and smiled as well, making me wonder what was going on."What is going on?" I asked in a whisper.Reynard was watching my face with such a huge smile and satisfaction, while Arlene didn’t look upset either."I don’t get it," I wiped my tears clean, as I could tell they planned this."You stupid Serena! You thought I would steal your mate from you after you gave me my whole life back?" She let out a laugh while tearing up."What?" I gasped."He is not my mate, you idiot," she started laughing when rushing over and hugging me."But you said---" I was still at a loss for words. She was hugging me and jumping up and down. Reynard gently touched his ears and mouthed an apology."I still don’t know what is going on. I need someone to explain this madness to me," I shook my hea
"Congratulations,"A councilor shook hands with Arlene as he headed to the food court. She looked like a true princess in that blue gown, wearing the alpha crown on her head. It’s been a week since that trial of Daxon, and we have all come to the conclusion that Arlene will be a better fit as the alpha of this pack. She was truly shocked in the beginning and hesitant too, but I told her I had faith in her. I knew if anyone could take care of this pack, it had to be her. She had faced a lot; she will not shy away from helping out her pack."I am so hungry," Arlene complained as she rubbed her hand over her stomach and kept looking at everyone eating their food. The coronation had reached the point where everyone was just eating dinner now. Arlene had to stand and watch everyone, but I think everyone had already met her, so she could relax now."Let’s go take a seat with them," I said, and she excitedly clapped her hands. The red gown I was wearing was what Reynard had selected for me.
The gunshot deafened us and silenced the others. Everybody stopped on their feet and stared at the mess my mother had created one last time. The guards knocked her down and handcuffed her behind her back while she screamed and cried. Vivian was still in shock because she knew the bullet would have hit her, but Arlene pushed her aside and saved her life.It was all happening so fast that I lost myself for a moment."Oh, my God!" Vivian gasped as she hugged herself. Valdman rushed down to check up on her before he glared at my mother."I should have aborted you two," my mom was screaming and crying, "You two are the reason my life is ruined," her yelling was so bad that many young mothers had covered their ears. "Take that bitch away and give her hell," he shouted angrily. Reynard had rushed to our side to see if I was doing fine while Kai had sneaked up beside Arlene."She saved my life," Vivian said, freeing herself from everyone’s grasp, who were checking on her to address what Arle
"Eh!" The first thing I heard was Daxon groan and move in the bed when his alarm rang like crazy. He was probably still very drowsy but was in the process of waking up.I was lying beside him under the blanket with no clothes on. After meeting up with Reynard and Arlene, we discussed the plan, and Reynard was a little upset that I didn’t include him before taking such a huge step.I understand he was worried that if Daxon had refused to drink, I’d have landed in trouble. But after calming him down and putting Arlene to bed because she was exhausted, we made out and then made the whole plane for the next day.Just before his alarm rang, I had slipped in bed with Daxon to make it look like we slept together after doing it."Ahhh!" Daxon groaned again and shifted his side to face me. I instantly shut my eyes tight and made it seem like I was still asleep. I noticed a little freeze in his body movement before I heard him grunt out a complaint."What the fuck!" he groaned, "I slept with he
"Fine, I accept your apology," he said as he finally stopped laughing and put his phone in his pocket."Why did you do all that?" I asked while sitting on my knees."Did what?" he asked, dragging a chair to place it before me and sitting down, acting like the fucking Alpha King that he will never be."Why did you force my sister?" I asked him, watching him smirk at the memory of it. Such a disgusting man."Because it was fun," he shrugged."I honestly don’t remember any other reason. Yeah! It is true that I wanted her to be my mate because she could make a better bitch, but then I got over her. Aren’t you happy that I am over her for you? I like you more. You should be thankful for me and not make these ugly faces," he said, shaking his foot while talking nonchalantly."Where does this stop?" I asked with teary eyes."Get over this whole Arlene and make her life a better thing. Sleep with me, and it will be over," he shrugged, as if that was all that was needed to be done."That’s it?
"Oh!" I blushed hard this time, thinking how weird it is that even I saw it, then how did Arlene not see it? That’s when another horror struck me. If it was that obvious, then Daxon must have noticed it too. Is that why he was hurrying up for the wedding?"Where did you get lost?" Kai asked."I am here. Actually, it is not about their wedding," I said while checking the door to make sure Daxon was not around."Oh, thank goodness—I mean, okay, then what is it?" Kai must have bitten his tongue, because I heard him let out a little yelp before talking again."She got her wolf," I said, with a bright smile covering my lips."What? really? Oh my goodness! That’s such good news," he started getting excited, making me realize how perfect he was for Arlene."But we are not telling anyone yet," I made sure he understood me, or else we will get into a huge mess."Oh okay! I get it," he nodded to himself as he promised not to tell anyone. We talked about the whole incident in school once again i
"I can’t believe I am finally having my wolf," Arlene had been pretty excited all this time. But we knew we had to take her to the woods for her first transformation. I just couldn’t define in words how happy this news made me. For her to finally get here wolf and also be this close to getting justice from almost everyone was just amazing. Reynard had been driving like crazy to reach the woods while Arlene was constantly babbling in the backseat of the car with her hands constantly rubbing her elbows as the pain kept intensifying."Argh!" she let out a little complaint, and then I heard a crack."Umm! Reynard!" I called for him while rubbing her back, "I heard a crack," I said in a terrified tone. The issue was that her wolf was waking for the first time after being tormented a lot. We had a feeling that if she transitioned with people around her, she would go crazy and probably hurt someone. So we must take her to the woods and let her transform alone in peace."We are almost there,"
Max looked irritated at my arrival because he wanted Arlene to be left alone. He must have gotten the instructions from Daxon and knew already that I would defend Arlene."Walk away, Serena!" Max voiced, making sure they didn’t break the circle and keep Arlene trapped."And why would I do that?" I asked, taking steps to reach them. The others shared a glance and smirked, probably wanting to bully me as well."And why not? This isn’t the sister you would want to protect. Did you forget how she used to make your life a living hell?" Max tried his best to pin me against her, but I have lived her life, so I am aware of everything.I noticed Arlene standing up and rushing to the corner, looking angry and probably frustrated with herself for not having a wolf."She is not the one at fault," I said, "My sister is innocent. Whoever told you all these stories is the real culprit," I was not shying away from defending her anymore."Oh, come on, don’t believe anything she tells you," he rolled h
