Wanting Her

Elliot

I leaned back in my chair, my fingers drumming against the edge of my desk as I stared at the city skyline. The memory of Susan’s defiant expression from earlier lingered in my mind like a stubborn melody I couldn’t shake.

She was fiery, determined, and still maddeningly beautiful. That sharp wit of hers had only grown sharper over the years, and I couldn’t help but feel drawn to it. To her.

It was ridiculous, really. I had no business wanting her back...not after everything that had happened between us. But every time she looked at me with those eyes, a mix of challenge and something deeper, I knew I wasn’t ready to let her slip away again.

If there was one thing I was good at, it was strategy. Business was nothing more than a game of tactics, after all. You assess your opponent, identify their weaknesses, and position yourself for the win. This wasn’t much different. Except this time, the stakes were personal.

I picked up my phone and scrolled through my contacts until I found Gerald’s name.

“Gerald,” I said when he picked up. “Do me a favor. Clear my schedule for Friday evening.”

“Of course, Mr. Prescott. Anything else?”

I hesitated, my mind already working through the details. “Yes. Arrange for the private dining room at Le Jardin. I want the best table, the full works. And keep it discreet.”

“Understood.”

I hung up, a small smile tugging at my lips. A dinner invitation was a start, but it couldn’t just be any dinner. It had to be perfect..an evening she wouldn’t forget.

Of course, Susan wasn’t the kind of woman who could be swayed with grand gestures alone. She’d see right through them if they weren’t genuine. No, this wasn’t about impressing her with wealth or power. This was about reminding her of what we had...what we could still have.

The intercom buzzed, snapping me out of my thoughts. “Mr. Prescott, your meeting with the marketing team is in ten minutes,” my assistant informed me.

“Thank you,” I replied, already distracted.

I stood, straightened my tie, and grabbed my tablet. But as I headed out of my office, my mind wasn’t on marketing strategies or quarterly reports.

It was on Susan. On the way her laugh used to light up a room. On the way she used to look at me when she thought I wasn’t paying attention. On the way she made me feel like I was more than just the heir to the Prescott empire.

She’d fallen for me once. And I’d be damned if I didn’t make her fall for me again.

This time, I wasn’t leaving anything to chance.

Flashback

I still remember the second time Susan and I gave in to each other, every detail etched into my memory like a vivid dream. It wasn't just about attraction. It was raw, consuming, and completely unavoidable.

It was a quiet Friday night in my apartment. Campus was alive with noise and chaos, but inside these four walls, it was just us. She'd come over with her notes and books, claiming we needed to study, but we both knew how the evening would end.

Susan was sitting on the floor, leaning against the couch, flipping through her notebook while pretending to focus. Her oversized sweater slipped slightly off her shoulder, exposing the delicate curve of her collarbone. I couldn't take my eyes off her.

"You're not even trying to study," she said, catching me staring at her.

"I'm studying," I replied, my voice low.

Her eyes narrowed playfully. "Oh yeah? What exactly are you studying, Mr. Prescott?"

"You," I said simply, watching the faint blush rise to her cheeks.

She rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her smile. "You're impossible."

"And you're beautiful," I shot back, leaning closer.

She looked up then, her sharp wit fading as our gazes locked. There was something in her eyes...curiosity, hesitation, but mostly heat.

"Elliot," she said softly, like a warning.

I moved closer, my hand reaching out to brush her cheek. Her breath hitched as my thumb traced her jawline, and in that moment, all the barriers between us crumbled.

I kissed her.

It started slow, testing, as if we were afraid the world would shatter around us if we moved too fast. But the moment she kissed me back, any restraint I had disappeared. Her fingers slid into my hair, pulling me closer, and I deepened the kiss, swallowing the soft moan that escaped her lips.

I shifted, pulling her up from the floor onto the couch. She straddled me, her legs on either side of my lap, and the sensation of her pressed against me was almost too much to handle.

Her sweater slipped further, baring one shoulder completely, and I couldn't resist leaning down to kiss the newly exposed skin. She gasped, her nails digging into my shoulders, and I took that as encouragement.

"Elliot," she murmured, her voice trembling but filled with desire.

Hearing my name like that...breathless, needy...made my head spin. My hands slid beneath her sweater, exploring the warm, soft skin of her waist. She arched into me, her body molding perfectly against mine.

I tugged the sweater over her head, tossing it somewhere behind me. She didn't seem to care. Her lips found mine again, more urgent this time, her hips moving instinctively against me.

My hands moved up, brushing over her bare back, her skin warm and smooth under my touch. She was exquisite, every sound she made, every movement, driving me closer to the edge.

Her hands fumbled with the buttons of my shirt, her frustration evident as she struggled to undo them. I helped her, pulling the fabric off and letting it fall to the floor.

We were both breathing hard now, the air between us electric. She leaned forward, her lips trailing down my neck, and I couldn't stop the groan that escaped me.

"Susan," I whispered, my voice hoarse. "You're incredible."

Her eyes met mine, dark and filled with something I couldn't quite name. "So are you," she said, her voice barely audible.

We moved together, the rhythm instinctive and consuming. Every kiss, every touch, every gasp...it was like we were speaking a language only we understood.

Time seemed to blur, the outside world fading until it was just us. The couch creaked beneath us, but neither of us cared. The moment was ours, wild and unrestrained, and I wanted it to last forever.

When it was over, we stayed tangled together, her head resting on my shoulder, our breathing gradually slowing. I ran my fingers through her hair, the weight of her against me grounding me in a way I hadn't felt before.

"Tell me this is real," I murmured, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"It's real," she whispered, her voice soft but certain.

And in that moment I knew I was hers.

Completely.

She grinned unapologetically. “What’s the point of a spare key if I don’t abuse it?” I opened my mouth to reply, but a knock at the door interrupted me. “I’ll get it,” Meera said, already halfway there. “No, wait...” Too late. The door swung open, and there stood Elliot Prescott, looking maddeningly composed in a charcoal suit that screamed money and power. Meera froze for half a second before her lips curved into a grin. “Well, well, what do we have here?” I shot her a look that clearly said, Don’t you dare. “Mr. Prescott,” I said, stepping in before Meera could make things worse. “What are you doing here?” “Good evening, Ms. Hart,” he replied smoothly, his eyes flicking between me and Meera, who was now watching us like it was her favorite

Elliot’s Perspective – My Mother Wants to Meet Susan I should have expected this. The moment my mother pursed her lips at dinner, I knew she wouldn’t let it go. She wasn’t the type to accept something just because I said so—especially not when it came to my love life. So when she called me into her private study the next morning, I already knew where the conversation was headed. I shut the heavy mahogany door behind me and crossed my arms. “What is it, Mother?” She was seated on her pristine white couch, legs crossed, a cup of tea in her manicured hands. Her posture was regal, as always. Cold. Calculating. “I want to meet her,” she said without preamble. I exhaled sharply, running a hand through my hair. “No.” Her brows lifted. “No?” “You heard me,” I said. “Susan doesn’t need to be subjected to one of your tests.” She sighed, setting down her teacup. “Elliot, don’t be ridiculous. She’s about to marry into this family. It’s only natural that I meet her.” “No, what’s natural

And why the hell are you not wearing a ring yet?”I groaned, running a hand through my hair. “It happened last night… after we… you know.”“Oh-ho,” she smirked, wiggling her brows. “After a little ‘I can’t keep my hands off you’ session?
