The Sixteenth Step Back

Kalix Ashford closes the door of his car, his gaze fixed on the rusty building before him.

With a shrug of his shoulders, he begins to walk towards it, accompanied by his right-hand man, Sean. Sean offers his support, asking, "Do you want us to come with you, sir?" Kalix shakes his head, declining the offer.

"No, Sean. Let me talk to her," he replies, determined to handle the situation himself.

Ascending the stairs, Kalix reaches the door of the apartment. He knocks twice, patiently awaiting a response. The door bursts open, revealing Jax, who casually eyes him from head to toe before nonchalantly asking, "What's up?"
