Twenty-Two Pawns in Motion

As Audrey gracefully walks away, leaving Samantha to simmer in her anger, Richard, her husband, crosses her path, grabbing a glass of drink for himself. Taking a sip, he unwittingly becomes the target of Samantha's pent-up frustration. Her voice lowers, but her anger seethes as she confronts him.

"Do you have any idea of what your son has been doing, Richard?" Samantha accuses, her tone filled with reproach. After a brief pause, she scoffs and continues, "Oh, how could you? All you have to do is have a drink to cope with the situation."

Richard, narrowing his eyebrows at his wife's accusation, responds with a mixture of confusion and curiosity, "What do you mean, Samantha? He is your son when it comes to not listening to me—" He trails off, his voice trailing with uncertainty as he poses the question, "Why is he so obsessed with that girl?"
