19. The mate test

“A mate test?” I exclaimed at the elder’s suggestion to remove all the suspicions revolving around me and the invader.

“Yeah. If he is truly your mate, he can easily pass the test. Nothing to worry about, sister,” Reese said with a smirk.

The royal court was called the next day in the courtroom to decide on the invader. They were ready to accept the divine decision and allow the invader to live, but only if he passed whatever stupid test they had prepared.

I knew Reese was majorly involved in all this. Maybe he was using this opportunity to prove that I was lying and expel me from the pack. So finally, he started showing his true colours, but this time he was revealing his intentions earlier.

It didn’t matter. I was mentally prepared for this day ever since I was reborn.

I looked at my father, who sat on the alpha throne. Even he couldn’t help me. If he strongly opposed the elders, their suspicion would get a spine.
