Truth or dare

After the dismissal from school, Daniel called his grandparents and told them that he would be coming in late. He had to bring up the excuse that he will be doing his assignment at a friend's place and that's a group thing.

"Do you have to lie to your grandparents like that"? Justin smirked.

"My grandma wouldn't have it that I'm staying out late to have fun". Daniel tucked his phone back into his pocket.

"Then she deserves the lies then". Jasper gawked.

"You're annoying Jasper...she doesn't deserve to be lied to... if only she doesn't see me as a kid". Daniel let out an exasperated breath.

"This is becoming a touchy subject...just get in... I'm driving everyone to my place". Justin said as he got in his car so did Jasper. Daniel took the front sit, that's the right sit beside Justin sitting in the car. Justin rode an expensive-looking sports car. His baby is white.

"Your seatbelt".

"Yeah". Daniel went to buckle it in but Justin had to bite him to it. He had Daniel's seatbelt buckled in and just when he was to bring his head back up so he could drive Daniel felt everything become slow, as the earth stopped for some reason to watch them. Justin's face was unreasonably so close to Daniel's face that he could feel his cheek heat up inside.

"Always remember to tuck your seatbelt in". Justin stammered a bit. He drove through the school garage and in no time we were in the streets.

All through the drive, all Daniel thought of was Justin's face and how close it was to his a while ago. Seeing his face up so close Daniel got to notice things that he didn't like Justin's face was so smooth and his hair smelt of vanilla, Daniel wondered what shampoo he uses for his hair. The texture of his hair looked soft in the eyes to touch unlike his hair that's hard due to the cheap regular shampoo he uses, his eyes that Daniel had always thought were just blue was deep blue when he stared at Daniel and his lips were pink though a little chapped as he didn't apply lip balm but Daniel bet they were fucking soft.

"We're here". Jasper called for Daniels's attention, it was unlike him to lose focus of his surroundings. 

"Are you sure you're ok man"? Jasper asked. He was worried.

"Yeah". Daniel stuttered getting down from the car following the two adults into the house. The posh looking house. They had flowers surrounding the house and a small gate built with iron and sharp ends at the top. Justin had packed his car in their car garage and it made me wonder how long I have been gone.

"Whoah". Justin shouted happily.

"We have the house to ourselves. My parents are not home" Justin ran upstairs clearly to go change out of his clothes.

"I don't get why he is so happy today. We have been doing this every month". Jasper rolled his eyes as to how childish Justin was.

"I know right". Daniel went into the kitchen to see if he could find anything that will fill the empty hole in his stomach.

"Sorry there's nothing in the kitchen but I ordered pepperoni pizza and cheese". Justin smiled, Daniel felt like punching it off his face as he was too hungry and felt Justin was making caricatures of his current state.

"But we could do something till the delivery comes" Justin suggested.

"And that will be". Jasper said not removing his eyes from the screen of his phone.

"We could watch a movie, how about chilling adventures of Sabrina, I saw turns of reviews that the series is very interesting". Justin said excitedly.

"Please don't tell me is one of those your sci-fi action again". 

"Nope, dumb ass". He nudged me with his finger. 

"As the name implies it's filled with adventures... Warlock, witches, and all the mythical stuff you can think about".

"I just hope it ain't boring". Daniel rolled his eyes cause as it always has been any movie suggested by the young adult named Justin had always turned out to be boring to Daniel.

"I will heat the popcorn". Justin smiled going to the kitchen.

"I think it's not too late for us to turn back on this insane mind of yours". Basil said for what felt like a thousandth time already.

"Basil if you want to go back, you can go back I don't need you anyway. This is my decision and you're not part of it". Alec doesn't know why Basil was trying his possible best to convince him not to get the human legs he wanted to get and live in the land of the land mortals. It was Alec's choice and if he didn't support it he should go ahead and leave Alec to his decision.

"You say I'm not part of it...off course I'm part of it just as everyone you love is part of it and even this kingdom Astera". Basil raised his voice, it was unlike him to raise his voice at me.

"You're the next in line for the throne Alec, with you this kingdom can have a better life. Haven't you noticed that lately the corals in the sea are dying at a much higher rate". Basil added seething with anger

"And what has the corals dying got to do with me. Alex my twin brother can be the king for all I care. You of all people should know that I don't want the throne". Alec equally raised his voice but it sounded muffled as they were inside the sea

"Can't you stop being selfish for once. Think about others and just not only about yourself". 

"Basil I want this, for the first time in my life I have felt a connection with someone. They're always in my mind. I can't think straight and maybe it's because of him, I was never interested in this sea life at all...please understand".

"You're just being selfish and I hate it that I'm your friend and all I have to do is just support you" Basil groaned using his tail to slap angrily a rock that the impact made a dent on the rock. 

"What will I do without you". Alec smiled.

"Shut up". Basil slapped Alec's tail with his.

We came to halt at kale plants draping on a tunnel. 

"This is it". Basil sighed.

"It's not yet too late for us to turn back".

"No...". Alec said swimming into the tunnel with Basil having no option but to follow him in.

"He is going to be the death of me". Basil sighed.

The insides of the tunnel were creepy and dirty and it was filled with all sorts of sea life, the ugly ones that Alec never thought existed. It was his first time seeing them.

"Who dares come into my tunnel". A loud blast stopped Basil and Alec in their tracks.

"It's me, prince Alec, we came to offer you something in exchange for something". Alec stuttered with Basil cowardly at his back.

"Come into the light let me see you". 

Alec swam through the tunnels to come into another opening, in all the walls he saw pictures, bottles, and all manner of containers that were holding one liquid or the other ranging from blue, green, violet red, yellow, and all sorts.

"What do you want prince Alec". A mid-fifty man came out from the blue moon, the color of his tail was grey.

"I want a human leg". Alec spoke feeling the nervousness in his tone.

"You want human legs eeeh". He traced his hand through his grey hair.

"Yes". Alec confirmed.

"And what do I get in exchange". He gave me a sinister look.

"Oh yes". Alec emptied the bag he was carrying, it carried all the human stuff he had picked over the months.

"What's all this". He laughed.

"Those are not close to what I want, I can use my magic and I will get all that". He said

"What do you want then". Alec swallowed the lump that was forming in his throat.

"I see you're a handsome boy. What I want is your essence of being young and handsome". He smirked.

"I will grant you your wish". He swam close to me taking my chin into his palms.

"You will have the human legs you so desire but on a condition. I will give you six months to get a true love first kiss, failure to do that your body will forever be mine. You will be in an endless sleep". He laughed sinisterly.

"Please let's go he is giving me creeps you can't agree to that". Basil said.

"What do you say huh". The sea god asked.

"I accept". Alec replied boldly.

Daniel sat glued to the flat screen that was in front of him as he slowly took popcorn in his mouth every three seconds. He never guessed the chilling adventures of Sabrina will be as interesting as Justin suggested, turns out for once he had chosen the right movie.

"I'm glad you're enjoying it". Justin was sitting close to me on the thick leather couch.

"For once you have picked the right movie". Jasper said not removing his eyes from the flat screen either, he was engrossed with the show.

"Have I always been making the wrong selection"? Justin argued.

"Of course you have". Daniel smiled.

"No way I have been making the best selection". Daniel rolled his eyes at how noisy Justin was becoming coz  he wanted to win the argument but he stood no chance as it was Jasper and Daniel against him.

"Justin". Jasper and Daniel said in sync. We wanted him to keep shut and allow us to watch the movie in peace. He was becoming lousy not letting the argument slide.

"Wait is this the end of the movie". Daniel said as it seems the movie stopped playing when it got to the point where Sabrina just discovered who the father is and what she is destined to be.

"No, they will be airing another season soon". Justin said.

Daniel looked out the window, it was already dark and he hasn't had dinner yet.

"What's keeping the delivery...I thought you made an order for pizza". Jasper asked rubbing his stomach.

"Yeah...I don't know what's keeping them". Justin said.

"Wait someone is ringing the bell. It should be them". Justin said walking out to go answer who it was.

He came back with two boxes of pepperoni pizza and cheese. 

"Here's our food". He dropped it on the floor.

"Let's dig in". Justin opened the box of pizza boxes wanting to take one slice but Daniel held his hand which obstructed him from taking a slice.

"Weren't you taught to wash your hands before you start eating and you too Jasper". Daniel caught Jasper trying to take one slice when he noticed his attention was on Justin.

"Ok". Jasper said standing up to go wash his hands so did Justin. Just as they left Daniel dug into the pizza. 

"I'm a preacher of what I don't do". Daniel smiled at his cunningness.

"Why are you so selfish ". Justin smirked joining Daniel on the ground where he sat devouring every slice of pizza.

"You two are just something else". Jasper pouted rushing to take his seat on the ground as he began fighting for what was left of the pizza.

After they were done eating with little side talks while they were eating; Justin suggested they play a game.

"The game will go like this. It's a game where you will say two truths and one lie. If any one of us guesses which one is the lie then the person will have to take the next turn" Justin smiled he was enthusiastic about the game.

"Who's ready".

"To spice up the game, if the lie guessed by the person was correct I suggest the person ask for what he wants to be done to him or done to the other person". Jasper smiled.

"Seems more interesting now.... I'm in for the game". Daniel said allowing Justin's enthusiastic vibe to rub on him.

"Game". Justin said not ok with what Jasper suggested.

"I will start the game". Jasper cheered.

"Ok..."Jasper annoyingly cleared his throat.

"1. I have kissed a boy". Jasper stated. Daniel raised an eyebrow at him judging he never portrayed any signs of being gay.

"2. I have kissed a girl

3. I listen to pep talks every morning before coming to school". Jasper started looking at Justin and Daniel to fish out the lie.

Daniel replayed all the statements he had made, Jasper had always liked everything that was on the skirt. Listening to prep talks seems like not a Jasper thing and then again Jasper kissing a boy was totally off it.

"I think the lie is number 1". I stated.

"What about you Justin". Jasper took his gaze to Justin, he was critically analyzing all the statements made by Jasper. Justin looked at Jasper and stated his lie as 3.

"That's correct Justin". Jasper smiled.

"Wait for a sec. You kissed a guy, Jasper". Daniel was shocked. It was something Daniel never thought will go down with Jasper. The long Daniel have known him, he was homophobic and had always hated Simon and picked on him just as Daniel did. Simon was the only gay kid in liberty high school.

" When was that Jasper. When was it you kissed a guy". Daniel was interested to know the details and how it all happened.
