Regret

Everyone was numb after hearing Connor's words. Doris slowly turned to Tessa.

"Tessa? What is he saying?" Her heart was pounding so hard, and loud.

Tessa looked down at their hands. Doris' hand was still trying to hold onto Tessa's own but it was shaking. She was so anxious and scared.
