OUT IN THE RAIN

FIBI'S POV

The rain didn’t stop like I hoped it would. My whole body shook uncontrollably, and my teeth were clattering so much that I was scared for myself. Yet, I couldn’t take the risk of going back to my mother’s husband’s house.

“He will kill us!” My wolf barked into my thoughts even as I was contemplating it. She was even more scared of that crazy man than I was.

I scoffed sadly at my wolf. “At least you are not the one in the rain right now, bearing the brunt of the cold. Diego was your beloved husband, wasn't he?”

She offered to come out for some time, to take the brunt of the cold and rain, but I brushed off the offer at once. I refused to shift into my wolf form, even though that would have brought me a little succor.

The least I could do was to protect my wolf from the harshness surrounding my unlucky life. Hot tears kept flowing from my weary eyes.
