KEEPING UP APPEARANCES

FIBI'S POV

I flailed frantically as blood drained from my face. My hands hit his chest a couple of times but it had no effect on him. How could he be on a chair and be able to suffocate me like this?

“The next time you start thinking that you're anything special in this castle, remember that I don't give a hoot about you and your life. I try to tolerate you for Mother's sake, but don't imagine that she can save you from me all the time.” He warned.

When I thought I couldn't bear it anymore, he released me suddenly.

I fell at his feet like a sack of potatoes. As I rubbed my neck, tongue out, trying to get oxygen back into my lungs, I concluded that Diego was the devil himself. Maybe with the kind of sweet mother he had, I had started to think that he couldn't be so bad. That's what gave me all my boldness.

But now, I knew for sure; he wasn't just that bad, he was worse!

Tears threatened to spill all over my face, but I held them in. Never again would I give him the pleasure
