💍 CHAPTER ONE 💍
"I want you out of my sight for good! " A resounding was violently landed on Mila's face and the poor woman slumped to the floor."I already told you to stay the fuck away from me! I don't want that filthy hands of yours all over me, but you just don't want to understand, do you? " Her husband, Killian, roared impatiently."I'm sorry, Hun. I was just trying to help relieve your stress. " Mila's voice broke as she couldn't hold back the tears that tumbled down her swollen cheek. She held her left cheek which was stinging badly in pain. But Killian couldn't care less. He grabbed her arm and shoved her off the floor to himself, his nails digging mercilessly into her soft creamy skin."You're my number one stress, Melina. So if you want to help, get the fuck out of my life! " A whimper left Mila's throat as she was violently shoved aside. She fell with a loud thud, her elbow brushing with the ceramic tile.Killian stormed out of their bedroom, slamming the door so loud that Mila flinched. Not knowing what to do, the poor woman broke down in uncontrollable tears. This wasn't the first time something like this was happening and Mila was sure it wouldn't be the last. This has been her life for the past three years now. But this wasn't how it has always been.Killian and Mila have known each other since high school. Back then, when Mila was still 12, she was the awkward and quiet type who never had the courage to talk to anyone and no one in her class wanted to talk to her either. Killian was the first boy and person to talk to her the very first day he entered her school. They two became close friends and even went to the same college. Killian was the only guy friend Mila had, who helped her overcome her unnecessary shyness and even helped her make tons of friends; the only guy who took very good care of her like an older brother. It didn't take long for Mila to realize she had feelings for Killian. And during their graduation day, Mila was more than elevated when Killian confessed his feelings for her. It didn't take long for the two of them to get married at a very young age.Blinded by his love for Killian, she canceled her admissions and became a housewife, going against her family's wishes.Coming from a very wealthy family, Mila's father, was a well-known politician and since Mila was his only child, Mr. Throndsen wanted her to take over. But Mila rejected all of these, just so she can be with Killian.Their marriage was moving perfectly, exactly like every marriage in a fictional romance story. Killian was the best husband any woman would ever ask for. He pampered Mila like she was the queen of his world and made sure she didn't lack anything. He made sure she never for one day regret leaving her family for him.But everything took a drastic turn in just a matter of one year. On the night of their first wedding anniversary, Killian became a different person; a monster Mila could no longer recognize.Mila gathered her shit together, wiping her tears as she dragged her weak self off the floor and made her way downstairs. Her eyes went straight to the front door that was left open, indicating that Killian already left the house, before tracing back to the mess in the dining room. There were broken pieces of plates and glass scattered all over the floor. The pile of food was wasting on the floor, including the expensive wine that has covered the dining table and dripped down to the floor. Seeing everything, Mila almost started crying again. This was supposed to be a surprise dinner. Mila had spent all day cleaning and cooking all of Killian's favorite dishes, her eyes beaming with excitement as she anticipated the romantic night ahead. But all her hard work and expectations were shoved aside and shattered to pieces on the floor.Sniffing back her tears, Mila headed over and started a thorough cleaning. By the time she was done, the poor woman was exhausted. She plunged to the nearest sofa. Not knowing what else to do or even think about, Mila felt suffocated just sitting around. She was getting fed up with everything and was at her breaking point. And if she stays even one more minute in this house, she might lose it.She quickly placed a call to her best friend, Abigail."Yo, girl, what's up! " Abigail yelled over the phone forcing Mila to pull the phone away from her ear."What's popping, baby girl? " The hyper woman demanded and a soft chuckle left Mila's lips."Are you free, Abby? I want us to hang out... tonight." Mila's voice came out too low and crackled that even Abigail could immediately tell something was off."Mila, are you ok? What's wrong? Wait... Have you been crying? ""It's nothing like that, Abby. I'm just a little bit tired " Mila tried covering up."Tell me the truth, Mila, did that bastard raise his hand at you again? " Mila could already tell the stench in Abigail's voice."Abby..."You know what? Stay right where you are. I'm coming to pick you up" The call was disconnected even before Mila could say anything further. The loud horn snapped Mila out of her lost thoughts. She sprang up from the cushion and rushed outside. Abigail on the other hand hurried out of her car the moment she saw Mila and pulled her to a hug."Tell me, Mila? Are you okay? Did that imbecile touch you again? Tell me which place hurts, where did he hit you?"Mila hissed in pain when Abigail accidentally touched her swollen cheek. Abigail's eyes went red in anger."That animal! How dare he lay a finger on you again?! I'm gonna fucking kill him!""Where is he?! Where are you, you ugly-looking bastard?!" The furious woman stormed into the house, her eyes roving about like she was hunting for her prey. Mila rushed inside and when Abigail was about to storm upstairs, she held her hand and pulled her back."He left, Abby. He left even before I could make it downstairs" She mumbled."Please, calm down"Abigail took in a deep breath before turning to Mila whose eyes were brimming with tears."I swear to God, Mila, if this man doesn't stop hitting you, I'm going to call the police on him. I'm going to get that sick bastard arrested! ""Abigail, that's enough! Forget about that. I just want to go somewhere where I can have a good time and forget about everything, please "Abigail hissed angrily and turned away with a huff. This has always been the problem. Abigail was aware of everything going on in Mila's marriage but whenever she tried to interfere, Mila would always stop her. She doesn't understand how her best friend can be in love with someone as useless as Killian.Killian has always been this way; Abigail knew from day one. She tried everything to help Mila see who he truly was; a manipulator, a narcissist, and a monster, but Mila turned a blind eye to everything."Abby, please, let go " Mila held her hand softly. After sometime,"Fine! " The angry woman gave in. She let out the hot breath she has been holding back. With a slight smile on her face, she turned to face Mila."Are you sure you wanna have some fun tonight, Mila? Are you ready to get wasted tonight? " She grinned sheepishly."Do I have a choice? ""Then, let's get this party going, yo! Let's go have some fun, baby girl! ""Party? What party are you talking about? " Mila blinked, not having the slightest clue of what Abigail was talking about."You'll find out and when you do, you'll be completely dumbfounded "And that was exactly what happened. An hour later and the two women were now standing inside a club. Mila, who was once in a simple sundress was now putting on a red, strapless knee-length gown that hug her skin so tight and brought out every damn curve she's been hiding under those loose gowns. The gown has a big V opening at the back that stopped just right above her ass. All the men around were already feasting their eyes on the flawless beauty standing before them.Mila was indeed dumbfounded, well except for the fact that she wouldn't stop glaring at Abigail who didn't even give a fuck. Her eyes were busy roaming about, looking for God knows what."This is a classic VIP club, Mila, where all filthy rich businessmen and women come to have a good time. And see, I told you this red gown was exactly what you needed. See how all the men here won't stop checking you out. " Abigail spoke in a whisper, snickering in satisfaction.Well, Abigail wasn't lying. Mila was indeed a very beautiful woman. She has an exceptional type of beauty that any man would go crazy for; her glowing, flawless, creamy skin and slender figure were top-notch. The slight makeup she was putting on made her already perfect face shimmer under the dim light."Well, you're all by yourself now, bestie. Make sure to have the best night of your life " Abigail vanished into thin air even before Mila could give a side-eye."Where the fuck did she go? "Mila let out a sigh and headed to the counter. She requested a shot and gulped it down in one go. Her mind quickly went back to everything that has been going wrong in her life and her face turned sour. What on earth hasn't she done for Killian? So why does he hate her this much? For some time now, Mila has been suspecting Killian has another woman in his life and that is why he is treating her this way. But she doesn't even dare to bring up the matter for fear that it will only make things worse.Thinking about all of these, Mila fell into anger and distress. She was angry at herself for being this pathetic. Because despite everything, she still can't leave Killian. She just loves this man so much.Mila drowned her anger and misery in alcohol and by the time she got to the third bottle, she lost her senses. The drunk woman let out a scream of joy and started swaying her hips to the music buzzing. She didn't even care that all eyes were now on her. She needed to let off all the pain she's been hoarding inside for years. And tonight she was doing just that, thanks to the help of the new best friend she just made; alcohol.Meanwhile, at one extreme of the club, a mysterious man sat with a shot in his hand, staring intently at the drunk woman who was going crazy on the dance floor, his gaze following her every rhythm. His deep grey eyes have been fixed on this woman from the moment she stepped foot into this club and haven't dated away from her, till now. There was something about her that has captured his interest.A bartender was quickly called and instructed sternly;"You see that woman over there... ""Bring her to me "Drunk as fuck, Mila kept rocking her body to the music, her hips swaying seductively to the rhythm."Go, girl! show them what you've got! " An already drunk Abigail wasn't helping matters either. All the men who have been watching Mila wanted nothing but to have this little seductress all to themselves. But there was someone else up to the task. The bartender walked up to the drunk woman and offered her another shot saying;"This gentleman over there bought this drink for you "Barely even in her right sense, Mila looked over at the direction the bartender was pointing at. A certain mysterious man's gaze washed over making her scoff."And who the fuck is that? I never told him I needed a drink, did I? If he wanted to come to me he should do so directly. Pervert! " She yelled loud enough for the man to hear. With her head now spinning due to too much dancing, the drunk woman shoved the bartender aside and staggered her way to the restroom. She could barely even see anything. Only heavens know how she was able to find the restroom. But she couldn't even remember why she came to the restroom in the first place.Splashing some water to her face, she lurched out of the restroom and was about to stagger back to the club when a firm, warm hand grabbed her arm and pinned her to a wall. A slight gasp left her lips when a tall figure towered over her, pressing her slightly against the wall. A strong, masculine scent quickly filled Mila's nose and she went stiff..."Walking around in a club, drunk as fuck is a really dangerous thing for a woman...""Especially one as breathtaking as you are...💍 CHAPTER TWO 💍"Walking around in a club, drunk as fuck is a dangerous thing for a woman especially one as breathtaking as you are " Mila's eyes widened a bit at the hoarse voice that sent a multitude of shivers down her. "Who are you? And who do you think you are to tell me what is good for me or not?! " The drunk woman snapped. A soft chuckle left the mysterious man's lips sending another wave of sensation down Mila and a hard gulp went down her throat. She couldn't understand how a mere voice, a stranger's voice, turns her on. Was it because she has been sex deprived for years now or because she was drunk? "Who are you and what do you..."Shush " The man's index finger pressed against her plum lips making her forget what she wanted to say. His other hand gently made its way to her open back, caressing her down to her waist. An electrifying thrill radiated from Mila's fingertips down to her spine. His arms circled her thin waist and he gently pulled her to him, her b
💍 CHAPTER 3 💍 YEARS LATERThe door of a building was pushed open and a totally different Melina walked in. Dressed in a simple yet fashionable jumpsuit, her hair tied up in a neat ponytail that brought out the smoothness of her face, she walked elegantly and gracefully into the building. As she stepped through, all the workers stood up and greeted her with a slight bow."Good morning, Miss Melina. Welcome "Melina eagerly returned their greetings with a broad smile before making her way to her small office. Plunging to the chair, she leaned back, resting her head with her eyes closed and a bright smile on her lips. She took out her phone and dialed a number. The call connected immediately."Hello, Aunt ""Hello, my dear. Have you arrived at work? ""Yes, Aunt. I just got there now. Are my two little happiness still asleep? ""They are fully awake, my dear. The only reason you're not hearing their voices is that they are in the bathroom, brushing... "Grandma,
💍 CHAPTER 4 💍Melina after having a refreshing bath and talking to her kids came downstairs and assisted Barbera in setting up dinner. The two women were busy chatting and laughing when a tiny voice quickly interrupted them."We are eating Grandma's magical pudding tonight!" Barbera and Melina were surprised to see an excited little Shantel standing before them, her eyes glimmering greatly as she stared at the delicacies on the table. With her round, big brown eyes, round fluffy face, and a pair of small nose and lips, Shantel was the perfect replica of Melina when it comes to appearance. Just one glance at her and one can already see Melina. She was like the little version of her."Shantel, you're too loud. Keep quiet" A little boy with beautiful grey eyes and small pouty lips muttered. That was Leon. His eyes were focused on the gamepad he was holding."When did these two get here?" Barbera glanced at Melina, surprised. "You don't tell me what to do, Leon" Shantel huffed an
💍 CHAPTER 5 💍"What kind of a lowlife company is this?" The most powerful man of Westwood wasn't impressed with what he saw. To him, this isn't what a top company should be like! It was way below his standards!"Is this a joke to you, Ethan?" His hard gaze washes over his assistant who nodded negatively immediately."Please calm down, Boss. I know this doesn't suit your taste, but you haven't seen their designs yet. I promise it is totally worth it. Just look beyond the poor appearance." What Ethan said didn't suit well with Dominic's dissatisfaction. "Get the car ready, Ethan. I have other appointments to meet. I don't have any spare time to waste here" The cold man turned and was more than eager to leave. Dominic was a man of great principle and power, who likes everything done perfectly. He isn't the type to tolerate a company this disorganized or so to say. He was just about to leave when Mr. Maxwell spotted him. The overly excited man exclaimed;"Oh, Mr. Hartless, you're a
💍 CHAPTER 6 💍 Melina and her kids finally arrived at Westwood International Airport together with Barbera. Shantel and Leon were excited to finally see the huge city they'd heard so much about. "Mommy, this airport is very huge and classic. And they are a lot of people here. I like it!" Shantel, who was more enthusiastic remarked, a bright beam on her face. Melina held the little girl while Barbera held Leon as they made their way to the arrival section. While waiting at the arrival section, someone spotted them and started waving at them. "Melina! Over here!" A feminine voice called out and when Melina's eyes spotted her, waves of unexplainable happiness washed down her. There, standing not so far from her and her kids was her longtime best friend, Abigail but there was someone else with her, a little girl of about 4 years old. The two women, now overwhelmed with emotions ran to each other in a very tight hug, tears of happiness running down their faces. "Oh, Melina. It's been
💍 CHAPTER 7 💍 It was a cool Saturday afternoon, a few days after Melina and her kids came back to Westwood. Shantel and Leon spent these few days exploring the new city they moved into. Every day they would ask Melina to take them somewhere new in Westwood and since Melina was yet to start work, she gladly accepted. Today, they were going to explore the city's biggest amusement park; The Greatest Park of Westwood. The two brats were excited especially Shantel. The little girl was exhilarated. She couldn't even sleep an inch last night. Even before morning came, the little girl woke up and arranged everything she will needing for the little tour. Melina and her kids left after bidding bye to Barbera. A few rides later, they got to the park. Shantel's jaw dropped to the floor and her pupils dilated vastly at how huge and ecstatic the park was. Her eyes gleamed in excitement as she got a little view of the heaven-like place. Even Leon was rendered wordless. There wasn't a single amu
💍 CHAPTER 8 💍 Melina came out from the cotton candy stand and was surprised to see Leon running towards her. "Wow, calm down Leon. The cotton candy isn't running away" She chuckled but then, the moment she saw the sad gloom on Leon's face, the smile on her face vanished. Looking around she realized, Shantel wasn't with him. Melina's heart immediately cut. "Leon, where is your little sister?" She demanded, praying what she was assuming wasn't true. But sadly, that wasn't the case. "Mommy, Shantel is nowhere to be found. I've looked everywhere for her but I can't find her" The little boy dropped the shocking news. ×. ×. × Dominic Hartless turned and stared down at the cute little girl standing before him, her big brown eyes glowing in excitement. A familiar feeling washed down him making a frown appear on his face. Little Shantel flashed him a broad smile and his heart skipped a bit. Dominic Hartless has never seen a smile this innocent and beautiful! But then to his shock, "Ex
💍 CHAPTER 9 💍"Boss, do you think there's ever a possibility of you having kids you know nothing of?" Ethan's question didn't suit well with Dominic. The cold man shot him a deadly glare. Is this man trying to insult him or what?"If you want to rub it to my face that I'm still unmarried why don't you say it directly and stop beating around the bush?" "No, no that's not what I mean, Boss. I know you don't have a wife yet and it sounds crazy what I'm about to say but I can't help it...""There's this little boy I met today who looks just like you! It's crazy how the both of you have a striking resemblance. And oh, did I forget to mention that he talks and behaves just like you? One might think he is your son! " Dominic frowned, not seeing any sense behind what Ethan just said."A lot of people look alike, Ethan. Similarly, a kid can get a resemblance to someone who isn't their parent. I don't see what's alarming about that.""You're probably right, Boss. It's just a coincid

NOTE; This chapter is not edited Evelyn opened her eyes to find herself in the hospital surrounded by stainless steel objects and disinfectant. At the far end of the room,Dominic was standing in place with the doctor. She could only hear snippets of the conversation."Am afraid her Amnesia is quite serious. She just felt overwhelmed by the memories flooding back.Thats why she fainted."the doctor had said solemnly and with a fre exchange of words he exited the room.Dominic realized that she was awake and rushed to her side instantly, giving her a sad smile."Hey"he greeted."Hi"she gave him a weak smile. Not being one to mince his words,he spoke up."Why didn't you tell me you had amnesia ?"he asked softly."I didn't see how that was important "she responded weakly. Before he could ask any other question, she had dozed off.The morphine must have kicked inAs he watched her sleep,he vowed to do everything in his power to regain her lost memory. She just had to remember them.A week went by
"Dominic..." She called out softly making his eyes widened greatly."I... I...love you" She mumbled before passing out in his arms. For a moment Dominic stared at her, excited and surprised at the same time. She remembers, she remembers him.Without waking her or his children who were sound asleep in their rooms amidst all the commotion, he lifted her up in his arms and carried her to bed.Covering her with a duvet, he sat down beside her and held her hand,. placing a kiss on it."You don't know how happy I am to hear you call my name, Melina. I love you"* * * *The next morning, she groaned in pain. She felt the loud pounding in her head as she struggled to get up.Looking around the room, she felt a familiar peace as she glanced around the beautiful decorated room."Ugh"she grunted. Placing a hand on her pounding head, she threw the duvet away from her ,only to find that she wasn't alone. There with her was Dominic sleeping so peacefully beside her.she couldn't hide the smile that esca
ONE WEEK LATERAfter confirming with her assistant, Dominic and Evelyn set up a time, which was today by 5pm although she had warned them ahead of time that she would be late. They couldn't find a suitable venue by that time of day so he settled for a making dinner at his place. In the five years he had been without Melina, Dominic had picked up a thing or two about cooking. He knew how to make pasta which was what he intended to make.Three horrible attempts later, he had everything setup and freshened up, preparing himself to welcome her into his home. He popped open the wine and poured himself a glass as he waited for her arrival. The kids were in their bedroom.Hours ticked by and Evelyn was still not there. He picked up his phone and dialed but the line wasn't connecting. He tried a handful of times before redirecting her call to her office. The call was answered after the first two rings."Hello" A strange voice sounded at the other end. The voice didn't belong to her."Hello, w
The moment Dominic and Shantel got back home, he issued a check to the Nanny and sent her on her merry way never to be seen by him again. He headed straight to his study room to call Ethan. There was something he needed him to do.His hands were sweating and his breath heaved as he dialed the number on his phone. Ethan picked up at the first ring."Yes, Sir""Ethan, I want you to dig into possible whereabouts of my wife's body. Was she cremated or buried?" He inquired. "Sir?" Ethan blurted out in surprise ."I need you to do this for my peace of mind" He explained. "If I may ask, Boss, what is this about?" Ethan asked. Dominic could sense the uneasiness in his voice. But he knew he had to. Seeing Melina today made him realize many things. All cases regarding her accident and death was sealed and ruled out and her body was taken care of while he had been in prison. He wasn't the one that buried her. He didn't even see her body. By the tine he was out of prison, she was already buried
As Everlyn watched the world haze by, the faint sound of someone calling out for her rang in her ears. For a brief moment, a flash hit her. Someone was calling out for her; a little girl. She couldn't see her face but her voice was getting softer and softer, almost like she was walking far away from her.Getting shocked out of her reverie, she looked down at the teary-eyed girl who was gazing up at her so hopefully. She didn't want to be the one to dash her hopes but she had to set things straight. She didn't know her and she had never seen her before. Not that she can remember at least."Sweetie, I think you're confusing me with someone else" She spoke softly, ruffling Shantel's long brunette hair that was just like hers. It was an uncanny resemblance and somewhere at the back of her mind, she felt that small voice calling out to her. Telling her that they were connected. But she shoved those incessant thoughts away and focused on what was real.Shantel on the other hand couldn't bel
"Ethan, have you gotten the proper documents needed for the dealership shipment tomorrow?" Dominic asked as he glanced through the array of folders that lay splayed all over his desk. They were so close to their launch and they couldn't afford any mistakes or delay. It would be catastrophic If they encounter any sort of loss due to negligence."Boss, about the contract proposal from the new company?" Ethan demanded but without looking up from the documents, Dominic waved a hand dismissively. "We do not have time to deal with something that huge when we have a bigger deal on our hands" He responded, sifting through the blue spiral-bound envelope."But, Boss. I went through the contract some weeks ago and it looked really promising and we were allowed full creative control if we were to take it up." Ethan informed, adjusting his glasses as he placed the opened document in front of Dominic's desk.Dominic finally looked up and Ethan directed his gaze to the file. Reluctantly, he took th
Five years later...Staring out from the glass pane windows that overlooked the outskirts of the city. The thoughts of the last couple of years came replaying in Dominic's mind.Five years ago, with the help of Ethan, he was proven innocent and was released from prison. But after his release from prison, things have never been the same. Within five years he was able to gather his life back together a little bit. Though he was proven innocent, the board of directors teamed up with Eric and removed him as the president of the Hartless Empire, making Eric the president instead. But that wasn't a setback for Dominic. Even though he was no longer the president, within five years, he took over VVC fully and made the best fashion company in Westwood. Within five years, he was able to regain his fame and power and was still known as the most powerful man in Westwood. But all of this meant nothing to Dominic. All the fame and power to him were useless. What was the point of gathering his life
Back in Westwood, Dominic was grappling with his own demons. He had retreated from the world, haunted by the accusations and the uncertainty of who had committed the terrible crime. He was also in shambles over Melina and her decision to break up.As he sat in his cell contemplating his life an officer came up the cell and began unlocking it. “Let's go, Dominic, you have a visitor.”Dominic's heart soared as he envisioned Melina had come to visit him.He stayed still as his hands and feet were handcuffed and he was led out of the tiny, cramped cell.He was let into the poorly lit room and made to sit down.Dominic was confused and just as he was about to question the guard Eric revealed himself."Hello, Dominic," Eric said, a malevolent grin on his face as he sat down across from Dominic in an interrogation room. "It's been a while."Eric was a tall, handsome man with a charming smile. He was also a ruthless businessman who was determined to destroy Dominic.Dominic's face lost all of
