It is a busy morning for the people of Omaha. Despite the sadness that filled the atmosphere, the fact that they had to do what was necessary according to the customs of their land had them astir.
One of such customs is being present or involved in the affairs of the kingdom especially when there's a special occasion that carries the potency to affect everyone. One such occasion is the Coronation of a new king.
The dreaded day of the coronation finally came and Miller and his daughter were still nowhere to be found. The Chiefs in the position to handle the coronation had already decided on what to do.
While every other person in Omaha put on a sad face that morning as they dreaded their nightmare coming to reality, only two people were happy in the whole kingdom. They were Rico and Rogers. They happily anticipated this day as nothing feels more important to them than being in power. Rico would rule as king while Rogers, his only friend would be there to assist him as the second man in authority.
Elton was another person who would've been happy. After all, he never knew much about his father's evil deeds. He only felt that people might just envy his father because he is from the royal house. It should've been a happy morning for him but the situation of his missing lover and her father had made him melancholic.
"Why?"
"Why now, that their love had just spiraled into a new phase?"
Those were the thoughts that flooded Elton's mind as he lay on his bed that morning. He remembered how he had his first kiss with Beverly recently and how exhilarating that felt.
The two of them have been childhood friends. They played hide and seek around the royal house when they were much younger.
Miller didn't mind seeing them together but one person who was not always pleased to see them playing together was Rico. He would scold Elton many times and tell him to get back into the room.
For some time, they acted as if they didn't even know each other when they walk past each other. Rico once caught sight of this and was impressed. The two good friends soon discovered somewhere else to meet, away from Rico's sight and even anyone from the royal house.
Occasionally, they would embark on secret adventures into the woods. They would climb some trees, gist, laugh and tease each other playfully. But they were always conscious of time. They made sure they do not stay too long outside and they never got caught. This went on and on for many years and as the years rolled by, their affection for each other grew.
Elton was still wondering where Beverly and her father could be at the moment when he suddenly heard one of the king's Messenger announcing that the coronation ceremony would soon begin so people should prepare.
Rico was double sure that the kingship was not eluding him. Nothing felt more soothing than being double sure that no one could stop him from becoming the king. He and his friend, Rogers had been In the room all morning. They mocked Miller's present situation and laughed so hard.
"How's the loser doing?" Rico asked
"He must be there in his cell regretting that he came to this world, let alone wanting to become king and rule over you," Rogers said.
Rico let out a sinister laugh and said:
"He must be dreaming to think he'll become king and rule over me."
"I'll pay the dreamer a visit soon after I'm crowned"
"Good plan, your highness," Rogers said teasingly.
They looked at each other for a few seconds before they burst into laughter and prepared to step out for the coronation ceremony.
After some time, People were gathered in the compound. The chiefs and every other person were seated. It was supposed to be a joyous occasion, but by a simple look at the reception of the individual's faces, a stranger wouldn't be able to tell if it was a coronation or just another burial.
One of the chiefs suddenly broke the silence and began….
"Great People of Omaha, it is so sad and no news to us that for about two days now, our supposed king, Miller, and his beloved daughter are nowhere to be found. I know this is so disheartening to all of us, but it is against our custom to continue like this without appointing another king. So in place of this, we must follow the available alternative we have in the royal house which is Crowning Rico as king since he is the second son of the deceased king George."
Elton sat somewhere at a corner where he watched sadly as Rico was summoned to the front seat for the coronation. To him, it would be okay for his father to become the king, but he would be happier if Miller who is the rightful person became the king.
As one of the chiefs hoisted the crown to set it on Rico's head, Elton closed his eyes and wished that all of these weren't real and that Miller and Beverly should just appear right now. The next thing he heard was applause. He saw how his father was relishing the crown on his head and the authority that has just been bestowed upon him. He looked back to see who was clapping and it was no other person but Rogers. So he joined the clapping Rogers to support his father.
Rico read the countenance on each face that was present there. He looked to see that Rogers and Elton were the only ones jeering him up. He forced a cool smile openly but inwardly, he swore to show these haters hell.
Whether you like me or not, I would rule over you and now that I'm king, I would exercise my power and anger on you, and you must do as I …..say
Miller was carried away with his little devilish thought that he didn't know when he banged his hand angrily on the wooden table before him when he was about to say 'say' in his mind.
When he noticed the confusion that reflected in people's eyes after what he did, he let out a fake smile again, told them it was nothing, thanked the chiefs, and promised to serve the people better. But all his evil intentions towards the people lie within him. Rogers read this very well and gave Rico a satisfying gesture that no one else could understand apart from Rico.
At the end of the ceremony, it was just as though people had been waiting desperately for the Coronation ceremony to come to an end. Unlike the past coronations in Omaha, a lot of people did not even wait to eat and drink or engage in other merriments. Instead, a large Exodus ensued.
Beverly had waited for days to see if anything was going to change. She wondered if she was ever going to set her eyes on her dad again. Now that days had rolled into weeks and nothing has changed, her optimism began to flag gradually. In such a short period, she had formed a great bond with Madam Pat and Alice and they had become fond of her too. She's being treated like family. Even though she hasn't forgotten about her father, all the love that's being showered on her barely gave her a chance to set herself into depression. One of the activities that she engaged herself in the most is hunting. This was always fun to her as she had been doing this right from when she was small. Thanks to her childhood friend and lover, Elton, who knew how to hunt. He taught her some hunting skills during some of their secret adventures in the woods. Back then, every hunting she did with Elton, they did them surreptitiously due to their royal status. It must not be heard that they were going into
It was 5:30 in the morning and it had been a long night for the people of Omaha. This has been the situation recently as the people are still trying hard to adjust to the changes that engulfed the kingdom. Before now, when King George was still on the throne and things were still going well in Omaha, children were seen playing around their houses into the early nights and even when it was getting into late night, they still gathered around to tell or listen to night tales and barely anybody was terrified of the dark. The evening breeze was always soothing and refreshing to the body and most times, the elderly ones would come out to bask in it. Most people end up sleeping late and consequently enjoy their night's sleep. Only the nights appeared a bit short to them since they slept late. And when it's dawn, they get into their daily activities again. Omaha was indeed a peaceful Kingdom! But things have changed now. The playful kids still astir at night, playing outside or telling tal
Rogers embarked on a journey to carry out the mission that Rico sent him. Normally, It is supposed to be a long journey owing to the distance from his home to his supposed destination, but an extraordinary speed was among the features that most werewolves possess. Even though he made use of one of the cars that Rico had given him for the mission, he set it on the highest speed that normal humans wouldn't dare as they wouldn't be able to control it. Due to his werewolf influence, the car seemed to align with his speed too.In no time, he arrived in a city called Gaza: the same city where Rico had been some years ago for some devilish deeds and even recently when he attacked Miller. Rico knew the location for the mission very well as that's the same base where he carried out one of his biggest missions years ago and that was how he was to give Rogers a direct and unmistakable description. It never occurred to Rico and Rogers that Beverly could be in the same city. They felt she would
Miller had not set his eyes on Rico for a while. He knew that Rico must've gotten himself busy with some devilish deeds even though he doesn't know what exactly he plans to do with Omaha after becoming their king. Although Rogers was not always around, he saw Rogers more often than Rico. Rogers was getting busy assisting Rico with some wicked tasks these days so he had just hired a new guard from outside their kingdom to keep a watch over Miller while he was away. That night, Miller sat quietly in his little cell and thought about his daughter, his late wife, and even Omaha in general. He wondered how he hadn't seen it coming nor had the slightest idea that his brother was a werewolf. Miller sobbed quietly as he lay on his small bed. He had thought so much about his loved ones that he ended up dreaming about them while he was still sleeping in the early hours of the morning. He was just having the dream in a series from the sweet moments with his late wife down to her last words on
It was a brand new day. The day of the awaited feast in Omaha and another day of werewolves troubles in GazaThat morning, Beverly sat at her desk, surrounded by books, papers, and various tools. She had been up all night, poring over ancient texts and studying diagrams of weapons. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her hands trembled with exhaustion, but she refused to rest until she found a solution to the werewolf problem. She had always been skilled in hunting and survival, thanks to her upbringing in a small rural town. But hunting werewolves was a whole different game. These creatures were not just any prey - they were intelligent, cunning, and dangerous. She had to find a way to take them down without getting too close, as one bite from a werewolf would be enough to turn her into one of them.As she flipped through an old book, a diagram caught her eye. It was a crossbow designed specifically for taking down werewolves. She read through the instructions carefully, taking note of the
The next day, the news of Beverly killing some werewolves spread far across Gaza. That morning, Beverly went around to the homes of those who had lost their loved ones to the werewolves, offering her condolences and promising to do everything in her power to stop the attacks. As she walked through the streets of Gaza, many people praised her and were so happy to have someone as brave as that in their city. Beverly walked through the streets of Gaza, feeling a sense of purpose and determination. She had made progress in her mission to stop the werewolf attacks, and she felt empowered by the support of the people of Gaza.As she walked, she noticed a group of people gathered around a house, and she approached them to see what was happening. A woman was weeping uncontrollably, and Beverly knew that she had to do something to comfort her."Excuse me," Beverly said, approaching the group. "What's going on here?"The woman looked up at Beverly, tears streaming down her face. "It's my son
The sun was slowly rising over the horizon, casting its first light on the Omaha Kingdom. As the people started their day, they were met with a sight that they never thought they would see. The streets were littered with debris, overturned carts, and broken windows. The smell of blood filled the air, causing many to gag and cover their noses.Later, reports began to trickle in of how all the chiefs that were present at the feast turned to werewolves overnight during the full moon. Some of them had bitten members of their families, making them run wild while some other families managed to run for their lives when they saw that the chief who is the head of their family had become werewolves. At first, it was just a few people who had been bitten in the night and were now exhibiting strange symptoms - a feverishness, a ravenous hunger. But as the morning wore on, the reports grew more and more alarming. People were screaming and running, some trying to flee from Omaha, while others wer
The once bustling streets of Omaha were now ghostly silent, save for the occasional howl that pierced through the night. The werewolf rampage had thrown Omaha into chaos and despair. Families huddled together in fear, desperately seeking refuge and safety. Some managed to flee to neighboring towns and cities, hoping to find solace in unfamiliar territories. Others, however, were left behind, unable to escape due to various circumstances. Those who were left behind looked for the best hideout they could get and took refuge in them. As it is, there were now several hideouts in Omaha with each of them containing groups of people. Due to this, the killings were reduced. But once in a while, hideouts were discovered by these hungry and roaming werewolves and when this happens, the humans were either killed or turned into werewolves and those who manage to escape from the werewolves ran for their dear lives until they discover another place to hide. This was the routine for most of the pe
As Beverly and Elton stumbled into the makeshift camp of humans, gasps of shock and concern erupted from the small group that had become a community in their refuge. It was a motley assembly of survivors, people who had been saved by Beverly, and now, they had an opportunity to repay her kindness.Beverly's condition was dire, her clothing torn, and her skin marred by deep gashes and bruises. Elton fared no better, his face twisted in agony, a sharp reminder of the recent clash with his father. Beverly had managed to drag him out of the scene determined to get him to safety. These brave souls, who had faced hardships and horrors beyond imagining, took immediate action.A woman with a kind face rushed forward, her eyes wide with concern as she examined Beverly's wounds. "We have to clean these," she said to another woman, who hurriedly gathered clean cloth and a basin of water. They worked in harmony, tending to Beverly's injuries with a gentleness that only people who had seen the wor
The dank, dimly lit cell that held Miller captive was a place of despair and solitude. The days seemed to stretch endlessly, marked only by the meager meals that were pushed through the small, barred window at irregular intervals. Miller, who had managed to survive the treacherous desert and make his way back to Omaha, was now a prisoner in his own city. One gloomy evening, as the last rays of daylight dwindled, King Rico's ominous presence loomed over the cell. The guards unlocked the heavy door, and in walked the imposing figure of the self-proclaimed ruler of Omaha.Miller, who had been sitting on the hard, cold floor, immediately rose to his feet. He had grown gaunt and disheveled during his captivity, but his spirit remained unbroken. His eyes met King Rico's with a mixture of defiance and determination."Rico," he uttered, the words dripping with contempt. He had once considered Rico his brother and a trusted ally. Now, all he saw was a power-hungry despot.King Rico's lips curl
The woods were shrouded in an eerie silence, the kind that only nature could create. Elton, with a heavy heart, had sought solace in these very woods, hoping the tranquil surroundings would help him gather his thoughts. He had often come here as a child, seeking refuge among the tall trees and rustling leaves. Today, however, there was no comfort to be found in the familiar landscape. He sat on a fallen log, his mind drifting back to happier times. Memories of him and Beverly flashed before his eyes like an old, worn-out movie reel. They had known each other since childhood, their friendship blossoming into something deeper as they grew older. Together, they had faced countless adventures and challenges, their bond growing stronger with each passing year.Elton's fingers traced the grooves on the bark of a nearby tree as he lost himself in those memories. He remembered the laughter, the shared secrets, and the warmth of Beverly's smile. But now, all of that felt like a distant dream.
In the heart of Omaha, the relentless sun beat down on the dusty streets, casting long shadows that seemed to stretch for miles. King Rico, his face etched with determination and frustration, navigated the labyrinthine alleys, searching for his elusive son, Elton. Rico had lost track of time during his relentless search, each day blending into the next. The disappearance of Elton weighed heavily on him. He had gone several miles in search of his son. And he had tried his best to gather information. Yet, there was no trace of his son.The ancient cursed sword, the source of his power, hung at his side, a constant reminder of his determination. King Rico's thoughts were a tumultuous whirlwind of anger and confusion. He couldn't fathom how Elton had vanished without a trace. It was as if some unseen force was guiding hi

She missed Elton with a depth of longing that seemed to gnaw at her very soul. She missed the camaraderie and warmth of the humans who had found refuge with her. And most of all, she missed the sense of purpose she had felt when she was able to protect and save those in need. But the bitter reality of her new existence as a werewolf weighed heavily on her heart. She had changed, transformed into a creature of the night, a beast she had once hunted to

Elton's thoughts were in turmoil as he lay in his room, the weight of recent events heavy on his mind. His reconnection with Beverly had ignited a spark within him, a spark that had given birth to a newfound sense of morality and compassion. In the past, Elton had been a loyal follower of his father, King Rico, and had adhered to the ruthless ways of the werewolf world. He had been complicit in turning innocent humans into creatures like himself, participating in the very acts that had brought chaos to Omaha. But now, things were different.Beverly's mission to hunt down werewolves had opened Elton's eyes to the suffering and terror that his kind had inflicted upon humanity. He couldn't ignore the truth any longer, and his encounter with her had triggered a change of heart. As he lay in the dimly lit room, Elton couldn't help but wonder about the path he had chosen.
