Nicholas's POV

"What did you just say?" I rephrase those words carefully to ascertain if i heard Wahika well. My ears must have been malfunctioning.

"Wahika, this isn't a joke or a child's play" father says as his face changes into a darker cloudy mask. I look around and the chiefs are also astonished at the turn of events.

"Why would i joke with such heavy words my lord. Have i ever dared do such? Have i ever dared speak what the gods have not commanded me to? I wouldn't dare. My life would go for it" Wahika says.

It is glaring that no one anticipated this. Marriage? To someone who would have reported them to her Kingdom? Some of them look to each other in confusion as they murmur.

"Are you really being serious, Wahika?" I turn to her. I flicker my eyes to hers, trying to see if she is pulling my legs which Wahika never does. Maybe i am just looking for an excuse to reason what she said.
