WILL THE KILLING EVER END?

"Run! Run!! Nicholas! The dry leaves suffered under the feet of Alisson and Nicholas as they ran from their chasers. Outnumbered and low in strength, running is their only means of survival.

Out of twelve guards, only three remained. The alpha won't take it lightly if he finds out about this. Nicholas tilted his back in a 180° motion. He stopped when no one was coming.

"I thought I was still hearing their thuds up till now." Nicholas pants, supporting himself with his hands on his knees.

Suddenly, he heard their cry, and they started running again. One of the chasers halted, picked an arrow, and aimed at Nicholas, but he missed.

"Is this the road to your city?" Nicholas asked Avery who was maintaining the same pace as Nicholas.

"Yes, it is. It has never been peaceful, I guess everything turned when I left." Alisson answered.

"We should have taken more gu–" An arrow pierced into Nicholas' mouth from behind. He went down immediately.
