Unexpected Revelations

CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

One moment we were exchanging gentle morning greetings, and the next, she was fleeing from me like I was a monster.

I shook my head, trying to make sense of her sudden behavior, but I couldn't come up with anything. I just sat there, feeling confused and concerned.

I stood up, as my mind still reeled from Selene's sudden departure. I decided I needed some time to process everything before trying to talk to her again.

I made my way to my room, as my legs felt heavy with exhaustion. I had to rest and gather my thoughts before I could even begin to narrate the events of the previous day to her.

I flopped down on my bed, as my body sank into the softness of the mattress. I closed my eyes, letting out a deep breath, and let sleep claim me once again.

I slept deeply, only to be woken by a knock on my door. I stirred, adjusting myself in bed, and opened my eyes to see the clock on my nightstand.
