He held my hand steady. 'Selene, don't,' he whispered, his voice soft but commanding.

'She's not worth it.' I dropped my hand, as I felt a surge of gratitude towards him, my anger slowly dissipating as I realized he was right.

Annabelle wasn't worth my dignity, my worth, or my anger.

As I looked at Mr Orion, I immediately felt a wave of regret wash over me. 'I'm sorry,' I whispered, bowing my head in shame.

Mr Orion's expression softened, and he stepped closer to me, his hand tilting my head up to meet his gaze. 'It's okay, Selene,' he assured me, with a gentle voice.

'Just go back to your room, and I'll come up soon. I have a situation to attend to.' He winked at me, and I felt a small smile creep onto my face.

But as I turned to leave, I caught Annabelle's death glare, as her eyes burned with anger and resentment.

I ignored her, as my heart still raced from the confrontation, as i made my way back up the stairs.

My good mood had been ruined, but at least I had Eth
