                CHAPTER 2(CHEATED UPON)

At the family home of Henry, he doesn't actually live with his family as he was a man that has already paved way for himself.He actually came to be with his dad for a little while.The house which was magnificent in  nature,had a basketball court,a gym,and a very big courtyard.His Father Honourable Wilberforce,a divorcee in his early sixties who happened to be a very rich man that deals with petroleum and many other things to his credit is seated with his scotch drink by his side.He has always been a fan of the drink.

One could tell by the look on his face that he wasn't in a good mood at all.He can't seem to get over the scene of his wife Gladys cheating on him with one of his business associates.

Few years back, he woke up before his wife Gladys,took his bath,brushed his teeth and few minutes later,he was already wearing a suit.He had a flight to catch that early to New York for a business deal which seemed very important that he even prepared before the flight time.

He was already combing his hair when his wife Gladys woke up from her sleep.Rubbing her face slightly to get a better look at her husband who was in front of the mirror.

"Honey...where are you going this early?"

"The business deal I told you about,it's by 12pm today"He said while adjusting his tie.

"But this is just 8am"

"I know my love but you see,I can't afford to miss my flight and you know me.I am always early to everything.It is better early than late"he comes forward to give her a morning kiss.

"Good morning"she said smiling.

"Good morning my beauty.Hope you had a bliss?".

"I sure did.Well since you are in a hurry to leave,imma have the maids prepare you something to eat"she said while trying to stand up from the bed.

"Don't bother yourself.I am already late.I will see you when I get back".He rushed to give her a kiss, picked up his briefcase and zooms out.

"Thank God...it's gonna be fun all the way"she said feeling somewhat relieved.

Few moments later,Wilberforce seated at the back seat of his exotic car received a call from one of his assistants that the meeting had been adjourned to the following week.

"What do you mean adjourned to next week?"he asked feeling disappointed.

"Okay...okay...okay...it's alright"He cuts the call.

"Take me back home"He signalled his driver to take him home.

During this time,he lived alone with his wife in the house.His kids were not in the country as they were busy with education and business respectively.

He rode back home and on entering his compound,he noticed a red car which wasn't his definitely.He didn't take it as a big deal as he knows his wife to be a socialite which keeps many friends.He walked into his house.In the sitting room was a wristwatch seated on his couch.

"That isn't mine"he thought to himself.

"And where is Gladys?"

He decided not to call her name inorder to surprise her.So he walked gently,climbing the stairs which were made of tiles.He didn't suspect anything because he smiled all the way up to his bedroom.

Unluckily for Gladys,she forgot to bolt the door as she was overwhelmed by the feeling of ecstasy.He gently opened the door which obviously she didn't notice.There she was riding her new man on his matrimonial bed,with moans of pleasure and romantic words that seemed to break his heart the more.

He was dumbfounded,heartbroken and dissapointed.He couldn't say a word.He just stood watching his wife have sex with another man on his matrimonial bed.His briefcase fell off his hands and that was when they both noticed his presence.

At that point, Gladys was shocked;Wilberforce was the least person she expected to see.She felt like the ground should open and swallow her.She immediately covered herself with a blanket.Grief and shame covered her countenance.

"Honey...it's not what you think.I can explain?"she defended herself shamefully.

It was at this point that he noticed who it was she was sleeping with.

"What!"he exclaimed

"Johnson!you?.Johnson you are on my bed having sex with my wife?".he felt so out of place at this point.

"Wilberforce I am sorry.Its the devil's work"he said pleading for his life.

"And you still have the guts to respond to me while sitting your stupid ass on my bed?"he screamed at him while coming to attack him.

Johnson was lucky enough to dodge his hit.He immediately ran outside and Wilberforce chased him.

Not so long later,he came into the room,Gladys was already putting on a robe.She knelt down and began to beg him.

"I am so sorry honey.I can explain"she said apologetically.

"You whore...you bitch...how could you?"he screamed again at the top of his voice.

"You want to give me an explanation?Go ahead I am listening".

"I didn't know what came over me...it's the devil's work".

"Is that your explanation?.Is that your explanation Gladys?.No!!!"he screamed again,this time scattering all the things his hands could touch in the room.

"I gave you everything.What on earth didn't I give you?. Everything"He knelt down with his palm on his head crying his heart out.

After a while of shedding tears,he braced himself,stood to his feet and said those critical words.

"The divorce papers are coming tomorrow".He said without looking at her and left the room.

Gladys couldn't hold back her tears,she poured her hearts out in tears repeatedly begging her husband for forgiveness.

Back to the present, Wilberforce sipped on his scotch drink.No newspapers,no phone,he sat there staring into space before Henry met him.

"Are you okay dad?".He asked concerned.

"My boy.Come sit with daddy".He said while dropping his glass of scotch.

"Do you care for a drink?".He offered.

"Who am I to refuse a drink offered by my dad?"they laughed together.

If there was anyone that knew Wilberforce so we'll,it would be Henry.He sensed that his father wasn't okay so he went further to ask more questions.

"You're thinking about mom again I guess?"

"I can't seem to get some things off my head my boy.Life is hard...it is damn hard"he concluded while sipping from his drink.

"You need to forget about what happened dad.I know you are stronger than this.We need you to be strong for us.She is my momthat I know, but what she did was wrong and you didn't deserve that.Forget about her and move on.I hate it when you are down.I'm gonna be down too"he said pitifully.

"It's okay my boy.Daddy is fine."He concluded with a smile on his face.
