~.MOBALI.~

"I graciously accept the verdict," Kaerlia said, her head bowed as she received the scroll that decreed her new title.

My fists clenched involuntarily as I watched her exit the hall. This wasn't the outcome I had wished for, and a sense of frustration swelled within me. I couldn't shake the feeling that this situation had spiraled out of control, leaving everyone hurt and divided.

With a sigh, I decided to retire to my chambers, hoping to find solace in the solitude of the night.

But before I could take more than a few steps, a voice called out to me, cutting through the sea of emotions that threatened to overwhelm me. "Mo!"

I turned to see Farah, her eyes earnest and filled with concern. Her presence was a stark contrast to the turmoil that had unfolded during the council meeting.

"Mobali!" she called out again, this time with more urgency, her steps quickening as she approached me.

"Mobali!" Farah's voice held a mix of relief and longing as she approached me.

~.KAERLIA.~"Raise your sword higher!" Visanyos yelled as our training session intensified. He kept pressing me toward the wall, and it became clear that I wasn't going to gain the upper hand through conventional means. In a daring move, I tossed my sword into the air, creating a momentary distraction. While he tracked the airborne weapon, I channeled my powers into my palm, slamming it against Visanyos' chest with precision. He was sent flying across the training area, crashing into the opposite wall."That's cheating!" Visanyos protested, his voice filled with both frustration and amusement.I couldn't help but chuckle. "You're the one who said there were no rules in this training, Visanyos. Can't blame me for being a good student." I grinned and high-fived Venus, who had been honing her skills with Donovan in hand-to-hand combat. After dealing with Visanyos, I rushed to help him up. "You're quite the mother, Kaerlia. By her side, her guard and maid accompanied her, and all of them bowed their heads in respect."Greetings, Your Highness," they spoke in unison.I found myself staring at them, taking in their deference. With a nod, I granted them permission to rise."Your Highness, I deeply apologize for not being prepared for your visit. I never received any prior notice, or I would have made suitable arrangements," she expressed sincerely. My initial response was a scoff. "Am I not allowed to come here?" I challenged, feeling a hint of irritation. She quickly shook her head, her tone apologetic. "Your Highness, that's not what I meant. I only meant that we could have made proper preparations had we known in advance."My frustration grew, and I clenched my fists. The way she addressed me as 'Your Highness' seemed almost mocki

I rolled my eyes as I skimmed through my dresses in the closet.I glare at Aidan through my closet mirror as he leaned on the door, his hands tucked in his jean pocket."If you were present at the dining table, you wouldn't ask me such." NINETY-SIX~.KAERLIA.~"Where is she?!" Mobali demanded, his voice laced with fury. I gasped as I took in his presence. He stood in the lounge room, wearing only pants. His impeccably chiseled chest was exposed, each ab dug into the other. ~.JANNAH.~"Kaerlia!" I exclaimed embracing her into a warm hug, her smile was weak and faltering and her eyes were red as if she had been crying for a long time."Let's not talk about that, shall we?" She asked, sniffling and I nodded. If avoiding the conversation made her feel better then she would forget what she noticed."How have you been, Jannah?" I sighed at her question. I didn't know what to tell her exactly. The fact that I've been having more nightmares of my daughter? Or that my hand has been trembling more lately?Or the fact that trying to transform into my wolf makes me faint."I'm fine, have you had something to eat?" I asked her as I pulled her into the second kitchen in the Palace. It was barely used but Jannah used it regularly."Wow, I never knew the palace had a place like this," Kaerlia said in awe."There are a lot of cool places you don't know about.""And I'll never know, because I won't be here." ~. MOBALI.~As I wake up, the bright light from the window hits my eyes. I run my hand through Kaerlia's side of the bed, but it's cold. I jolt, sniffing the room. Her scent has faded, which means she has been gone for hours, possibly days. How long have I been asleep?I look at the bedside table, and there lies a piece of paper. I pick it up and read its contents, "Dear Mobali, by the time you're reading this letter, it could have been days since I left for hell. I'm sorry, but I can't sit back and watch the werewolf race crumble. Please don't come after me, and I love you." I grip hard onto the piece of paper.Rising from the bed, I took a quick shower and dressed in my armor. Anger and determination coursed through my veins. I had to find her, I had to bring her back. How could she? How couldn't she see through Liliana’s plots? My heart clenched at the thought of her being dead already. "Guards! Open this door!" I roared, pounding on the unyielding brass doors.
